Neon Genesis Evangelion 21 [Watchbet]

Hmmmm... What? I got the gist of what happened this episode, but some of its a bit fuzzy. A lot of flashbacks with occasional things about the present. It threw a question in there about Rei that I never really asked and now I am questioning what happened to Misato's boy toy.

This show just loves to bring more questions and leaves very little definitively answered.

You're almost to the promised land.

12 would be the ideal area. But like I posted, I have Gurren covered.

Whoops, only saw the other post. Have you also seen the movies? They remove some filler content, but alter the final fights so each movie basically has 20-30+ minutes of new final battle material. The final battle from the show is even MORE hype in the second movie.

But if you want shorter stuff I actually don't know what else I could suggest. The serious Gintama arcs are probably up there, but those make like... maybe 1/3 at max from the whole show, which has over 300 episodes so far and aside from the serious arcs (which ARE really good and hype!) you have comedy and parody (but even then, it's some of the best in the whole medium).

Check out Giant Robo: The Day the Earth Stood Still if you haven't, one of the greatest shows of all time. You've probably seen it but just in case you haven't also check out Gunbuster and its follow up, Diebuster.

Giant Robo looks rad, and yeah I've seen Gun/Diebuster.

I much prefer the movie for the second season because the final battle is just that much better, and the middle bit with Chouginga also felt much stronger to me.

What I learned from the anime fandom is that drama is only good when involves little girls with giant eyes, magical diseases and a vocabulary that uses words like "uguu".

Well, this isn't even drama. This is just a contest to see who can be the biggest miserable bastard, but masked as a drama..

ROUND VERNIAN VIFAM #13 Combat Training Begins! The First Space Battle!

The first space battle was intense. Barts didnt seem like the one to get scared and panic. Im glad Kents was there with the cover fire and the girl to man the ship. With more training they ought to survive more of these trials easily.

Here is a super realistic Prohibition-era mafia series...............with a 9 foot tall caricature running around squeezing people until they die.

Neon Genesis Evangelion 22 [Watchbet]

What I forgot to say in the last episode is that the preview for this episode nearly gave me a seizure. Holy crap. So much flashing.

Anyways, seems this episode focused on confirming that
Kaji is dead
and I guess wanted to explore Asuka's really messed up past. So...you know...I guess there's a reason she acts the way she does.

I feel like I am so close to the truth and yet so far...

I can't wait until you watch The End of Evangelion. Masterpiece.

Man...is been so long since I watch the movie. Just so fuck up to the point you just don't think and watch what you're watching and then try to understand it later on which you will never will.

ROUND VERNIAN VIFAM #14 An Enemy Spy? The Mysterious Fugitive!

Knew the aliens would be humanoids but I wonder if this is the same aliens thats been after them. He also didnt seem to indicate if anything if Katue was an alien too (Kuktonian). Maybe she is...

I've always found it to be very life affirming.

I have to say, it make me not to watch the series ever after watching the movie. Just never go back for me. Oh well, didn't loose too much for me. I guess it isn't my cup of tea.

Now, we should watch a very old and (not as good) anime show call Run = Dim. Man, I feel old when I watch it.

If not, we should watch Dual Parallel! Trouble Adventures. That is basically an Evangelion rip off but fun and easy to watch.

The Seven Deadly SIns 1 and 2

Knew nothing of this going in so I was pleasantly surprised with the how they built expectations in the first half, and then immediately shattered them in the 2nd half of episode 1. Show is going a complete different direction than what I was led to believe and is much more interesting for it. The whole military coup and why the sins were marked as evil (or their reason for violence) has me interested.

Episode 2 was good, the spear catch/toss was neat.

Osomatsu-san 3.5

Crunchyroll added that episode that they redid for the Blu-Ray!

The first half was the boy idol group setup they had in the first episode but without the references and with 1000x more fujo pandering to the point where it was actually mockery.

2nd half was more like it. S2 when.

Battery 4

This is a good show with people that act like believable human beings their own age with motives that make sense. No wonder some people hate it.

Wow, you guys weren't kidding about the speed of the subtitles. Holy crap the guy narrates fast! I got used to it after a while, but man was my mind reeling at first. Looking over that, I think it is quiet an interesting show about a guy who just can't obtain that "rose tinted campus life" that he is looking for, always unable to grasp on the opportunity presented and instead seeking something more akin to fantasy.

I thought Amaama to Inazuma was going to be about more than cooking I tell you hwhat
5 eps in and it's just a serviceable 2nd rate Koufuku graffiti instead of anything close to Usagi Drop

Kono Bijutsubu ep.5
Very SoL episode with the pool artwork with musical backdrop and some funny stuff with the art teacher passing out and and Uchi read the "Now Game" manga to see what to do... cute cross-promo, lol. Pribably one of the best episodes of the series yet.

Sword Art Online II

I've seen the first 11 episodes of season 2 so far and I'm really enjoying it. I plan to post full impressions again after I finish the season, sometime next week...

tread carefully, admitting you like SAO season 2 is like admitting you like to club baby seals around here :p

that being said I fully admit I also liked SAO season 2. As both season 1 and 2 are quite enjoyable to watch.

edit: actually to make it more relevant, it's like calling avatar and korra anime :p

I really liked the Aincrad saga. Then I bailed at the Tentacle porn thing that suddenly happened.

Oh, and Avatar is totally an American Anime so I can get on board that train.

Your Lie in April - 8

The two rival characters were a lot better than I expected them to be. I liked that Aiza basically saw Arima as a legend that he wanted to surpass. That's usually the kind of attitude I see from main characters rather than rivals.

This show really is at its best when its focusing on the performances. The music and animation during those scenes are great.

To be clear, now I'm talking about the actual Season 2, not the second half of season 1. Nothing weird going on so far...
