About the only thing that comes to mind is the fact that Fireballs aren't as good an approach tool for him now seeing as how they don't travel anywhere near as far as they used to. I can see Doc's Megavitamins being a better tool in those regards assuming they travel farther.

Yeah, I played 3 matches in a row doing NOTHING but leaf shield, trying to figure out a use for it. It barely blocks anything either. It's basically a useless move. Like, brawl Fludd levels of useless.
It takes forever to come out, it only blocks stuff if you're lucky, it doesn't go far, it stops you from doing anything else (worst of all is up B in the air), it does no damage. Like, I don't get it.
Yeah, I get that feeling too. I rarely die even once in a 2 minute match. The only time I get more than 2 kills is when final smashes are involved.
Blast cielings are way too high, for sure.
I've seen a few players surviving over 100% with a Smash attack.

3 stock/8 minutes sounds good. I don't think there's any need to touch the timer since reducing the clock just causes people to try to run it out more often (I brought up a possible 3 stock/5 mins ruleset to a friend that plays comp Smash and he pointed that out).

There was some attack that someone did that killed me at 80% as link. I think it might have been pikachu? Don't remember.
That said. Villager final smash didn't KO mario at 60%. Link's final smash (same mechanic, easier to hit, actually), KO's at like 20%. The final smashes aren't balanced at all.
Ha, no. It only blocks if your attack comes in contact with the leaf (and only the leaf). So it blocks projectiles that HAPPEN to hit the leaf (but ones that go between leaves make it through). It disappears after like 3 seconds, too, so it's not viable to keep a shield on you at all times.

I actually wish the hitstun was slightly longer, there's been loads of times where I feel like I should have been able to get a good followup but they just airdodge out of it.
Like Mario's Dash attack > Fair, the dash attack is incredibly unsafe as an attack but it pops them off at the perfect angle for a running fair but nope, airdodge time just as you attack.

I'm curious what his other options for that move slot change. We've seen the petal shield but we still don't know what it does differently, and we haven't seen the third option at all (hoping jewel or skull)
The default doesn't seem to be great but maybe an alternative could be better.

Man, the hype has been fading for me thanks to school and comic books, but it's all coming back now.
There's art of the box floating around the the world wide web, but that's about it. Guess Nintendo has to official announce it like Bayo 2 for shops to start listing it. They revealed the Special Edition ages ago but only with the Direct did shops post it.

I dreamed that people figured out a cheat code to unlock rosalina in the demo. I played the game nonstop til I fell asleep. Such a good way to make the wait less painful. Thank you sakurai.
He totally didn't need to do a demo, and yet he did. Maybe the real reason is to give it to NA/EU fans who have to wait 3 weeks. Hopefully, if that's true, you guys get it soooooooooooooon, and not the day before launch.

Thanks all! And yes, I'm well aware that there's practically no way the demo is coming out of Japan today, no matter how much I wish for it. Nintendo doesn't care about my birthday the way ya'll do.
But hey, at least we'll probably get The Big One (in terms of leaks) today! That's a pretty great birthday present! (If it happens...)

Only reason would be to placate the rabid fans for japan getting it so much earlier. Hopefully that's what they do. If I had to guess, though, it'd be in two weeks.

Nah, leaks are internal copies or information getting out. Or someone with a review copy dumping info that's under press embargo when real copies aren't yet available.
Early sales are just stores breaking streetdate, they're not "leaks" really. Just early copies.

Yeah. I feel like the surviving longer part is just to widen the appeal of the game. If it's easier to stay alive, casual players (people who play it as a party game) might find more joy out of it because they're "losing less."
I don't think it's inherently a bad change, just something to get used to, but it definitely means stock count will be 3 TOPS, if not just 2.
Sweet. Totally agree w/ top comment, need to switch shield/grab buttons. I'm so used to L shield, Z grab, that it's backwards on 3DS really messes me up.
Thus is the best new for me, as both shoulder buttona on my 3DS don't work properly

I wasn't really referring to r/smashbros, I was referring to the guys from Reddit that shit on stuff in order to 'fit in on /v/'. You could see them in stream chat pretending to be Melee elitists in order to get a rise out of people/just be general dickheads.
