Guys...I think Spainkiller isn't lying

This screencap was from a /v/ thread made on 07/27 before the ESRB leak

He says the game will have:
Dixie
Shulk
Chorus Men
Ridley
Bowser Jr
Mewtwo
Duck Hunt Dog

Fast forward to the ESRB leak from 08/20 -> http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=878858

This confirms 3 out of the 7 characters from the /v/ poster and it's also confirmed 100% now that we have the final roster

Now that leaves us with the last 4 characters...Dixie, Chorus Men, Ridley, and Mewtwo

Spainkiller from NeoGAF posted this today:

"Fuck it, I'm just gonna put it out there:

(And I'm not saying this to troll fans or keep the hype up or whatever.)

I have a source who has been right about previous leaks and has worked on the European localization of the game. He says he has definitely seen moving models of Dixie, Ridley, Chorus Men and Mewtwo in the game and he's still confident that these four characters can be unlocked by linking the 3DS version to the Wii U version.

Now, I know how outlandish this sounds, and being a game journalist myself I'm taking this with a grain of salt myself, but we're talking about the guy who told me about the Bowser Jr. alts immediately after the ESRB leaks and has never been wrong about other stuff as well. Plus, the whole connectivity thing makes far too much sense, if only to get fans to buy both versions. *insert itprintsmoney.gif here*

Again, I swear on my soul that I'm not trolling. Time will tell. I thought Ridley was never gonna be in, but hey."

Zipzo (who is credible, he posted a lot of info from the final JP smash build a few days ago) tweeted this:

"Mewtwo is in."

I guess we'll see in a few months what happens ;)
I'm not gonna get my hopes up, but what happens to all the avatar bets if this is true?

i ask again, did sakurai really said that there were no DLC programmed for smash bros?

if that's the case,than it's true
He said they weren't going to think about it until they were done making it (or at least closer to being done). The quote is from over a year ago.

Urgh. If you have to have a Wii U to get all the characters I'll be mighty pissed off.

I think I know one person who has one, but I don't know if they'll get smash, and they live pretty far away.

Would probably think about not getting it if I couldn't complete the roster.

BGBW

Maturity, bitches.
Zipzo is credible because he played a demo that loads of people played? Some random kid also played the demo, but you won't see me believing the word of some random youngster.

Even in the 2D game were Ridley does not do any follow up actions, Samus takes damage. Pikachu, while being held by Ridley, didn't do any flinching animations. He was just held idly like he was in the grasp of a playable character (there's a little clip in that linked video showing grab+breakout animations in Brawl). So even if Ridley only idly flaps about, grabs a player and holds them in place, they would at the very least take damage.

But why would Ridley's behaviour be so passive? Have you ever seen how his 2 boss fights behave in Brawl? They're crazy. Ridley moves all the time. He doesn't just flap forward a few inches, grab the player and hold them in place, do no follow up attack, and once the player breaks out, continues flying across the stage slowly.
The same goes for Yellow Devil, Master Hand and other boss type characters in Smash 4 we know of so far (except for the completely immobile final form of the final boss). They don't just idly move around, they always do something - attack or move across the stage.

And you made another point earlier about Ridley "not having enough time to follow up" - he held Pikachu for a few seconds. That's ample time to follow up for a boss character. Master Hand immediately follows up as soon as the player is grabbed.
How can you tell pikachu isn't taking damage? I don't see a percent bar

I could see them doing Gamestop events (like the Pokemon one's) where you bring your 3DS and can download the 4 characters from their Wii U setups + you could download them by connecting to your own Wii U or a friends Wii U
I'd be okay with this if it turns out the rumor was true anyway

Still working on finding avatars, but in case you guys didn't get my PMs:

Still working on a few. Could somebody let JB know? I think he has me on ignore.

What did they bet for?

Was hard to tell, but did anyone else think ROB looked a little more...toy-ish?

Especially his render.

I really love his new render, and his model. He look even more cuter, and his moveset is pretty much improved comparing to Brawl's version.

Look good :)

You don't need to practice moves for Smash, just mash buttons or spam the one move that you think is overpowered, occasionally pick up and throw/use items #HowIt'sMeantToBePlayed

Why are you upset about Smash? just curious.

What? I'm pretty satisfied with the roster but if your actually defending that, that's pretty shitty.

Sorry I don't own a certain Nintendo console I guess
Its not a defense bro. Its crazy how theres only ONE side to stuff here. "you want the characters buy a 300$ console."

Ahem...already got dat shit..anyways would not be the first time Nintendo had done shit like this. I remember only being able to play mewtwo in pokemon stadium was with gb game connected. People should stop acting brand new this old news.

Because Pikachu doesn't have any flinching animations. In other Smash games, if you take damage even while immobilized (e.g. from being buried into the ground), your character still "vibrates" upon taking damage. In that shadow, Pikachu doesn't jerk around in any shape or form, he only does a smooth regular idle animation then breaks free.

Both songs available on the Brinstar stage are both from Melee. No new Metroid songs to listen to while fighting normal VS. matches confirmed.

lol, this stage roster just keeps giving.

Eh, DLC for a karting game seems like a different beast from one for a fighting game.

You don't have to really worry about balance or anything like that.

We're assuming somewhere along the way a decision wasn't made to hold off on some characters. Not necessarily for promotional reasons but development time, prioritization, bugs, licensing, Nintendo flipping tables, etc.

Despite being a mammal and a bird, I'm really not seeing much Banjo-Kazooie in DHD.

And maybe it's just me, but that "BK Palette" looks nothing like the Bear and Bird.
I kinda see it in the shade of red/orange, but the brown looks too dark, and the duck's head messes up the resemblance.

Still, it's like Samus Fusion or Light Suit colors. It's nice to think you're in that costume, even though you aren't.

Man I wanna believe but for now BANNED, time to accept the current roster.

Cool thanks guys.

Few more questions:

1. Are the mii fighters really unlockables? If so, have we found out how?

2. How about ROB? Was he the last one? Have we found out how? I stopped when Gema got Bowser Jr.

3. Are there any other secrets left we might have to look into?

Anyone? This hasnt been answered yet since the thread moves so damn quick. lol

He'd be more passive because fighting him is not the point of the stage like actual boss fights are. As a stage hazard it would make the most sense for him to just meander about or slowly follow people around and give ample opportunity to avoid him. A stage hazard shouldn't be more important than the match. The one exception to this that we've seen is yellow devil, where, while still passive, he takes up too much room on the stage and his random attacks are too hard to avoid. And that pretty much ruins the stage.

Perhaps Ridley doesn't do that. Ormaybe that just wasn't programmed in yet

Watch Da Birdie

I buy cakes for myself on my birthday it's not weird lots of people do it I bet
Part of me doesn't want DLC because I don't want to have to wait for months possibly to see who else gets in...I'd like to just enjoy the game haha.

I hope someone datamines the game soon, I mean they can do it for Pokemon, so I assume it's possible for Smash.
