I dunno how else to word it, but that theme took itself too seriously. Just too "OHMYGAHDSUPEREPIC" for me to like it.

You know, I thought I'd be more ecstatic about it seeing that Gold is my favorite Pokemon protagonist, but seeing it among the other new ones... the white band alt just erases it from my mind.

I don't think it's reasonable at all honestly.

They already reduce the moves usefulness by increasing the landing lag, making it even worse by making the move unsafe not on whiff, not on block, but on hit is ridiculous if you ask me.


Atleast a successful rest or falcon punch actually sends the other player away from you so it's about deciding if it's worth the risk if you don't kill them, for this, the other player doesn't move at all, they stay in the exact same position you hit them with and can retaliate with whatever they please.

Why would you be trying to use a meteor attack when you're over a stage, especially if someone is on the ground? All fighters should have non-meteor attacks, throws, and abilities they can use in that situation.

If the goal is to try to use a combo that worked in previous games, I think the answer is that the new balance and character designs may remove certain previous play mechanics, but introduce others.

Has anyone made a video / stream of spamming airdodges yet, so we can measure whether it's 1/10th of a second, and whether humans or CPUs can hit through it?

It was great at first, but then when you hear it a thousand times across the different menus of Brawl + different renditions of it it got really tiring. Also, after the initial hype of Brawl died down I don't really feel like the song is all that great to begin with -- like much of Brawl's aesthetic, it was trying to be a little 'too serious' and 'realistic'. I much prefer Smash 4's theme by far alongside Smash 64's and Melee's.

Bombastic is my word of choice. Great at first impression, but when it's literally every theme in the game you notice just how little substance it has.

SSB4's theme seems to work in reverse and seems better suited to a thousand rearrangements. I'd still rather we had unique themes for various modes, but I think this one will work better.
