I think all the Pokemon this time around look closer to their art.

By that same token, if Dark Pit used Pit's Brawl moveset, I don't think people would be as salty, but he just copied Pit's SSB4 moveset again.

I wasn't awake but how active were those 7 threads. I realize the whole, new threads for new news but most of the time those other threads die out super fast and move back to the super active thread like here.
I remember the TLOU threads and having 3-4 active ones on the front page for days in a row. I don't see any of the smash threads on the front page anymore except this one.

You're not alone. It's why I stopped caring about roster discussion/speculation this time around. Brawl's pre-release roster discussion/speculation was just as toxic.
I think the toxicity is because of how young the community tends to lean so you have these really extreme views/opinions on how characters are chosen in the minds of the players/fans. It's pretty bad. I'm not sure if anything could be done to quell it but yeah... it's getting worse and worse as more Smash games release.
People have this ideal roster in their heads -- that is, they do all this "math" or"science" (it's almost obsessive in some instances...) for the most logical roster for Sakurai to pick and after all their hard "research" and reasoning they don't get the roster they had in their head. So they get frustrated and the only reasons that can explain why the 'ideal roster' didn't become reality is because "___ character took this one's spot!" or "____ this character didn't deserve to get in!"
If it doesn't fit the logic pattern the community sets themselves up as -- even when Sakurai hasn't even had any pattern for anything he's done with his rosters (aside from maybe retro character inclusions) -- then the roster is disappointing and/or horrible.
I would guess his voice is different. They were voiced by the same person in Uprising and since he's back for pit, I'd imagine that Dark Pit will get his original voice back

Awesome stuff. Glad Jiggly looks better than she was in Brawl (although this would probably be clearer in the hands of a better player), although I was kinda disappointed that she didn't use a Rest. I really need to know if that's back to its' former glory. Brawl's Rest was possibly the most flaccid move in the entire game.

Exactly why I tune it out. It's trying to argue that your personal preference for the characters makes them more well, deserving than others. I mean, I really think Urban Champion Fighter or Gumshoe could make interesting characters, but I'd be hard pressed to argue they're more deserving than any the other characters in the game.

The moves themselves were awesome. The real problem was Mewtwo's floatiness and lack of killing power. Buff some moves and sink that sucker and it will all be golden.

I've beat the game, several times and did the square challenges. I love it to pieces and it's one of my favourite 3DS games. I love the storytelling in it, I love the characters in it.
But Dark Pit is the worst character of the whole game, by a long mile. He is derivative, his atrocious, has the charisma of a wooden plank (that stands out even more because ALL the rest of the characters are much better than him), and only worked as a joke of the typical dark version of characters in games and cartoons, that try to be edgy to 12-15 year olds.
So I dont know why are you "laughing" so much to a lie you have just invented.
Do you want me and other people that criticise him to take a photo of the game to show you more prove?
Most people don't see him cool or anything like that, we know what up with those type of characters. If you think he is cool, good for you, but let the rest us complain what a shitty addition he is to the roster.
His addition married with the absence of less "clony" characters and more important than him, seriously bring the good roster that we got down.
Fire Emblem deserves to have like three more characters because it's the best Nintendo franchise

I remember it going on further than that though I might be inadvertently conflating different talks about Isabelle/whatever since we've had too many OT's, but my overall point is there's been a ton of times where I haven't felt like posting in these threads since they get stupidly off topic and even borderline NSFW when we're stuck in a slow news period and members grow restless. I can see why the mods have grown more than a bit annoyed at these threads after we've had enough to reach 16 in the space of two years.

i dont actually want those guys to be cut my reasoning for bowser jr. is based on how much work it might take to bring him back to the next generation of consoles its not like i hate him or anything im just basing this on the amount of work it might take so its all just speculation from me.

Well, I hear he's popular in Japan and he looks easy to make. Easy request to fulfill.
I personally don't see how Rock Pikmin would differ at all from Purple Pikmin, both hit hard and Purple Pikmin don't stick to enemies in Smash, or daze them. They function very similar to Rock piikmin already. Plus, even if they DO have Rock Pikmin, it could actually part of Olimar's custom moves, since that's one of the only things I can think of giving him for his neutral B special. Dark Pit has much more options available to him as a seperate clone.

Well, we don't really want to pull TLOU-GAF where we had to made too many threads on almost everything. It's better to keep everything in couple of threads. There is someone that are considering to make screenshot OT for Smash 3DS. I'm not sure how Aeana would feel about that. If she have problem with it then she should come forward to us rather than making comments on her twitter.
Personally, I think she should have handle this situation better than making a mock out about it.

I'm guessing The Pokémon Company, having a lot of creative control over how their characters are used, wanted them to (finally) bring her design more in line with her updated look, as with Pikachu and his ever-changing design.
I loved Jiggly' anyway, but I am so thankful they redesigned her (and lots of the other vets). Her old Smash design didn't even really look like a Jigglypuff in hindsight. Jigglypuff and Sonic look much more like themselves this time around.

Heard Rest is at least better than Brawl, but not quite Melee level.
Really though, this thread should have just stuck to community long ago. The conversations that often took place were basically community-type discussions. Any interesting POTD would have just warranted new threads.
