Eight Days isn't by Team SOHO, the same applies for Home.

All I know is The Getaway has been put on hold for an FPS, but that's all the information I have.

ughh...if this is true, they are idiots...the last thing the industry needs is more fps trash... there are some genuinely good games in the genre, but also so much trash...I expect theirs (if true) to be one of that number... I next gen getaway would have more potential

Surfergirl does realize, I presume, that Imax-style 3D glasses are impossible with home televisions? Well, the polarization ones are, anyway. The LCD shutter glasses are typically too expensive to bundle with a game, and still wouldn't work very well with modern TVs (unless you ran the synching with bluetooth in software, but that has serious pitfalls too). About all that works on anything is the old red-blue anaglyph glasses

??? i think it's smart move

they need to see GTA4's new ideas and new gameplay to make Getaway 3 better (upper hand stuff ) and NA game market now is FPS slut , so why not more FPS games if people want that genre

Sony didn't secure time exclusives for UT3 and Haze just for good E3 show , FPS console gamers are hardcore buyer ( COD4 + RFOM sales ) more FPS games is the best thing that sony can do for PS3 right now .

So who's fault is it that Lair exists? All you should've needed to hear was "in this game you fly a dragon". The first reply should've been "No.". Phil didn't seem like he had much liking toward the game at any point so it doesn't seem like he ok'd it.

Phil's (not his biggest fault )

you don't give your/sony money to some former star warsdev and just then sit like an idiot , send some guys to see it and test it , discontinues the project if it's not looking good and give it to other dev ( LAIR on Warhawk engine now that something ) .

Phil as SCEWW Presidentl have no real power at all , cory barlog just decided he want GOW2 to be on PS2 instead on PS3 , Jaffe already works on T.M for PS2 , SCEJ want continue support PS2 over PS3 where the hell is he ? ( i don't blame him if he actually dating with Jade tho ) .

Phil only became head of Worldwide Studios (a position that didn't exist previously) in September 2005. Factor 5 already had a trailer made up in May 2005. I believe Harrison was at SCE Europe prior to that (Factor 5 worked with SCE America).

The game really wasn't that bad. It had to have gone through the same approval process as everything else. Just like their new project, which I would bet is a 2D shooter.

Seeing the initial demo they would have never realized the game didn't have enough substance or that the gameplay scenarios were uninpired and repetitive, it's more of a matter of having good focus-testing and more importantly, game designers. I think after Lair and to some extent, Heavenly Sword, SCEWW should be able to learn some lessons and ask more pertinent questions regarding gameplay of the games being shown to them.

But as numble said, Lair was greenlighted before Phil became the head of SCEWW. Like I said, he never seemed to be a fan of the game. After it was released he did an interview where he was asked about the complaints about it (largely the controls) and the complaints about Heavenly Sword. He was very quick to defend HS but said you should ask F5 when it comes to Lair.

I'm not sure how Sony can approach this when it comes to third-party devs doing first-party published IPs since they don't want to be seen as draconian and meddlesome, but there were a couple of red flags in LAIR, such as the overuse of motion controls (having to shake the controller so often whenever the need to grab something should have clearly gotten notice from the testers), and more importantly the lack of on-foot sections, flying around alone just wasn't enough, it's just like Heavenly Sword with the lack of platforming/exploration, that should have raised a red flag with the SCEWW producer in charge of the game.

The red flag for Lair is who was developing it. HS had issues but there weren't anything that really broke the game. You can tell that it can be something special if they continue the series which it seems they will. Lair though it should never be revisited and Sony should really rethink whether they want to continue to pursue that multi game deal they had with F5. I just don't think they're worth it. The only thing they really do well is making games that can push a system. But its not like Sony's lacking in the area, so no need to fund a team just to do that.

^.^ So F'ing true

Riding a dragon needs to be put into contrast, the same goes for all those armored suit games; the player needs to be put in vulnerable positions without his dragon/robot suit facing the basic enemy and the enemy's dragons/robot suits (Finally I got my dragon, payback time).

And that fighting system should be brought to the fighting on the dragon backs, Pursuit Force style instead of boring QTEs.

But what confuses me the most is that Factor 5 completely failed to use the motion sensing as a girders allowing the player to feel like riding a horse which would have had made so much more sense.

And what's up with having the dragon handle like an X-wing shooting fireballs :S The exact thing J.E. said they wanted to avoid; the trap all other dragon based games had fallen into.

No one knows who she is, or how she gets her information. For all we know she's a high-priced escort who pries sensitive information out of gaming insiders through pillow talk or S&M games.

She started posting videogame rumors as a means of drawing attention to her blog, in hopes that people would also stick around to read her political posts. Rose to prominence when Kotaku and few other sites linked to a rumor about LA Noire, which was after she leaked the first [alpha] screens of POP4.

As for her track record, some have been proven true, others have been confirmed by people on this site who also claim to be in the know (although we have about has much credible info about those posters as we do SG, so they could just be shouting 'oh, this is true' for attention), some have been wrong, and some havent yet been proven either way. Her track record is better than any other rumor source.

For reference which ones has she been wrong about?

I still don't get all the doubters though, it's pretty obviously she's a real deal. It would be imposible for her to have had the PoP beta stuff or gotten the Resistance stuff right, otherwise.

wtf is this? she just took away a piece of my trust. Pikachu cloud? OP updated.

Also, so much detail on Ubisoft...Surfer Girl = Jade Raymond confirmed.

I can guarantee you that she wouldn't go that far.

Leaking stuff like this: She wouldn't have a career anymore.

Rent-A-Hero No. 1? Really? wtf?

Phantom Dust was in there, too. You people need to stop caring about shitty games like PDO and Jet Set Radio Future and start bolding stuff like Phantom Dust.

I agree. I want a next-gen Getaway. Killzone 2 and Resistence 2 is good enough.

Polarization is possible with tvs, but it requires an expertly installed pixel by pixel overlay directly on the screen.

Surfer Girl Update:

UPDATE: Ding Ding Ding. We have a winner. Taken from an early version dated around last April or May.

Suppose those little tin metal cover buildings are the same the jeeps look the same and the barriers look the same.

Why wouldnt it look better than the first though, even if its an incredibly early build its still using the exsisting engine...... i dunno.

Unless they take a new approach with the genre and pull a Breakdown. How sweet would that be?
