Swery's The Good Life, [UP] FIG campaign fails, will be back on Kickstarter

I realize I'm in the minority on this, but I really like the way this game looks in motion.

Oh well, it ended up getting more than I expected, and I'll definitely be there for the Kickstarter.

Yea, I also like the artstyle and visuals of the game. Really hope they get a lot more steam on Kickstarter

Sad It failed the first time, but this game have to happen and I'm pretty confident kickstarter will be the right way.

Glad to hear he's going to try again via Kickstarter.

That said, I hope he clarifies a number of things related to the game/campaign next time around--such as the stretch goals for a Switch version.

Damn, it's been so busy at work that i completely forgot all about this :(
Will definitely put a reminder in my calendar for when the kickstarter is announced. Now i feel bad too :(

Still at least he's moving on not giving up and i get a second chance to support them!

Looking forward to the relaunch, then. I just hope with the addition of the new tiers (and less modular pledging before the end of the campaign- if there's anything I liked about Fig, it's having that) that they price them better. I'd like to grab what I had now + maybe get a physical copy (would you have to pick a version?), but I wonder if that'll be possible for a similar price.

Yeah, me too.

Hopefully the game does better on KS. I have to believe the only reason it failed to fund on FIG is because it wasn't on KS.

"[...] we believe the only way to truly fail is to give up."

Truer words have never been written. Splitting the pledges between cat and dog was a weird decision though.

I'll be back for the Kickstarter, for sure.

I hope that campaign is a bit more organized than this one was, though, with the stretch goals actually posted and not just alluded to, and no "by the way, dog version!" tier of surprises being added halfway through.

I want this game to be made so badly. I love the creativity on display, I love the artstyle and I love Swery. I will be back for kickstarter as well.

I'm really bummed about this because just until today I found out this game actually was a crowdfunding campaing, totally believed this game was already funded and development was on the way already.

Oh well, will totally wait for the kickstarter now that I'm aware of it.

Lower their crowd-funding expectation and this might have a chance. It looks so good tho. Too bad I'm not drowning in cash or I'd chip in a lot.

Glad that they are learning their mistakes from this and trying again. Maybe it will actually be successful this time.

If not, then it's more that people weren't interested. Of course we have to find out if that is the case when he tries again with the Kickstarter trying to fix up everything that went wrong.

First gaming related crowdfunding campaign I've actually put money into. Didn't even know there was a 'dog' option until a few minutes ago; that sealed it.

It was my lack of the current platforms that made me hold off from contributing earlier, but I showed my support on Fig in these final moments to help improve the game's chances for its relaunch, as Swery asked.

Ideally for me the Kickstarter will cover Xbox and/or Switch (the "stretch goals" were really nebulous before), but I'll prob back it next time even if not and just assume I'll have my own platform situation sorted out in the 2 or so years it'll take for the The Good Life to come out.

considering the Deadly Premonition teases that XSeed has been doing lately, I have to wonder if they're one of the "new partners" for the KS relaunch.

or maybe it's something else entirely (PS4 port of DP?)
