Switch 2 hate bubble

I just project hate on the switch 2 to help wake up nintendo fans.

After 10 years waiting for a successor they deserve much better than this.

It almost feels like a similar scenario like it was going from nintenso ds to nintendo 3ds. Yet then they also had the ganecube ans the wii right next to them.

When you think about it , yes they went hybrid but at the cost of taking away a much stronger home console or a much more affordable portable console.

Here is a happy medium, ok . But to release the exact same console design with the exact same mechanics plus some useless one after 10 long years......my god talk about greedy.

For me, not sure about others, i dont attack nintendo fans nor it is my intent to do so, i attack nintendo with this ,while me making fun of nintendo fans is more of a poor substitude of wanting to slap a child on the ass for fucking up.

Nintendo fans are the real hardcore gamers at heart.
They support the console they support the games. They always want more and are willing to pay a preium for it .Just think snes or n64 game cartridge prices vs ps game prices .
They never turn their back against nintendo and they stick it out till the end good or bad.
And for this they have my respect.

It might be that I'm not a native English speaker, but I'm confused whether you want to hate on the console or if you want people to not hate on it?

My opinion is that Switch 2 is very much what I expected. I would have liked more power in it, but other than that I am perfectly fine with what we'll be getting. The next Mario and Zelda games are going to be amazing and I think we'll have excellent 6-7 years of Nintendo magic to look forward to on it. :lollipop_smiling_face_eyes:
same, i think people judged easily, i recall that infamous thread ...
we still dont know the details. I think I know people are starving, or maybe just hating...

I'm sorry my friends i want to love ps5 buuuuuuut i go where the GAMES are ps5 no new games woke crud bookmark confirmed

My PS5 is gaining dust now, I havent touch it for almost one year.
Last game i played are FF16, Dragons Dogma 2, and Ronin.

I don't understand. What more could Nintendo have done, what should they have done and what were you expecting?

For starters a much more transparent communication with the fans?
Generate a massive hype based on info?

Remember the time when we used to buy videogame magazines and they reported about the n64 way in advance when they just called it Ultra64. They showed games , several, reported about devs and their projects for it and as fort.

Anyways my prostate is aching today ,need to go to bed.

You mean, react and respond to the leaks? There was no "info".

I'm sure they will generate loads of hype with the new games in the following months. But we'll see.

I say we hold off on judging the Switch 2 until we get the actual announcement. Although, if there's something to critize it is not the console itself but how long the period until the actual reveal.

The situation was the can't win type. People said Nintendo should play safe, they do and people are still unhappy.

This was a Thursday announcement though, they usually go like that. If there are severe problems in momentum after the April Direct, then we can start to worry..
Maybe, just maybe, the people who said play it safe and those unhappy aren't the same people.

Loved the game informer issue with Ultra 64, SM64 beta screenshots and Miyamoto quotes. Sometimes I refer back to this stuff to remember what REAL hype is. After the titles SNES got in 95/96 my body has never been so ready. They didn't deliver on the fronts I expected, but opened new ones. I banked on Yoshi's Island 2 and got Goldeneye instead.

I haven't seen much hate. Mostly people going "meh" because the teaser just showed a new Switch that looks almost exactly like the old Switch and a new Mario Kart that looks almost exactly like the old Mario Kart. There's nothing there to get excited about, but also nothing to be mad about. Basically it was an almost pointless teaser, except to confirm the existence of what we already knew. And the wait to find out more is a bit too long...

Is it hate? My impression is that there’s disappointment in the initial showcase, but that most are excited to purchase it either way.
Correct. The hyperbole is in the reactionary dismissal of any criticism towards the "reveal". Most of what I read doesn't qualify as "hate" at all, that's a ridiculous exaggeration. The most passionate critics can be usually found among the most loyal, long standing fans. That's not hate, that's engagement, and I'm pretty sure Nintendo appreciates that, too.

They basically just confirmed it's coming out this year. It was essentially a teaser. I couldn't care less what the console itself looks like. It was never going to look significantly different since it was following the same basic design premise of the Switch, which I think is great. As someone who plays primarily docked, I'll also probably just be using a classic controller anyway, which is basically a perfect controller as far as I'm concerned. Ill reserve my judgement till we see serious footage of games in April. Anyone making definitive statements about the Switch 2 now are being absolutely ridiculous or haven't been following gaming for more than one generation. If it turns out to just be a more powerful switch with some cool new futures, I'll be incredibly pleased because that's all I wanted.

I don't hate it it's just after how painfully lazy and uninspired Nintendo's Switch output was it's just extremely disappointing that the Switch 2 seems to be following suit right out of the gate. The mouse functionality looks awesome but after how poorly the original Joycons turned out it's hard for me to get that excited until I actually try them out myself. All the problems I had with the original Switch hardware have been brought back or worse double-downed on which doesn't help matters.

ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.
I just fucking wish there were achievements in the Switch 2.

Dammit Nintendo, it’s been almost 20 years and the other consoles already have Cheevos and you guys still don’t have a unified one.

It's not hate, it's just thoroughly underwhelming and the criticism is rooted in the truth. This is the best they could do after all this time? Just sad....
All we have is a trailer showing the console. No features discussed. I don't think any words were spoken. There's alot that remains unknown.

Hate is such a strong word. Some criticism can't hurt.

Looking forward to the console and games, while pointing out things I am skeptical about on the basis of the very short video we saw. So not a lot.

I honestly don’t know how anyone can have a solid opinion yet. We have almost no information. Let’s wait and see what they show before we cast judgement.

I’d you want to nitpick the commercial they showed, that is fair game. I think a different commercial more similar to switch 1 would have been better.

Switch 2 has the ponies scared. I mean if something as weak as the original switch managed to shit over next gen in both user base and software sales without even barely even trying or without agressive price cuts imagine how hard the new switch is going to steamroll both “competitors”

Until Nintendo showcases first party games that utilize the new hardware, the Switch 2 is simply an unattainable Switch Pro. Hard to get excited about that. Also the Mario Kart 9 clip looked like it was a cross gen title.

10 weeks to find out more is too long of a wait. Fans are annoyed. We need more leaks.

Hate is a strong word. Nintendo fans have been waiting a long time and needed more than what Nintendo showed (most of which was already leaked/known).

Would you rather have Nintendo wait until April to show it?
I’d prefer a simple announcement with a set date for the full reveal. Dropping a trailer now and waiting four months for more details feels like too long of a wait, especially in today’s fast-paced world where devices are announced, pre-ordered, and released within weeks. It’s hard to keep the excitement going for that long.

Because they couldn't plug all the holes in the barrel, it was leaking like crazy so they just dumped it out to prevent more leakage.

I'll make my final opinion on whether they reacted when we know the firm release date. If it's June, I'll believe they always planned January 16 and just stank. If it goes on to Q4, then you can't convince me the initial reveal wasn't planned a few months later.

I also somewhat doubt they had it planned to announce a new console only a few weeks after trying to soak up final holiday sales of the last one. That's quite a fuck you even for Nintendo.

People leaked stuff, people complained that nothing was being shown, Nintendo who are is the best position of their entire 100+ year existence threw out a few crumbs to placate issues not of their doing, but entitled people still raged.

Nintendo have zero reasons to show off new Zelda's or Smash or whatever people want to see. The Switch 2 will be sold out for a year just because of Mario Kart.

Is that lame and boring, yes but it's what's going to happen probably the entire generation. They don't need to advertise it, they will delay and put on hold all sorts of games because they don't need to rush this time.
Nah, Switch did well because it had a strong lineup during the first year, not doing the same for Switch 2 would be stupid and risky. We won't be getting as much but Mario Kart, Metroid and 3D Mario in the first year seems likely. For OG Switch we also had Zelda, Splatoon and Xeonblade. They even had ARMS as a 1st party quirky title. They won't go that big, but they have to recognize that their launch lineup helped set the hype for the system for years.

Nintendo are a good example of how good games is all that matters. People will overlook any faults as long as the games are good. Microsoft are a good example of the total opposite of that. They get alot right but because of their poor track record with the actual games, they have a very negative perception.

I don't hate it, just disappointed it doesn't have that Nintendo magic feel of a new piece of hardware.

Still excited to see what first party titles will be coming.

What leakage?

Nobody really cares about the device itself, nor the form factor. Does anybody care about how the device looks?
