Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon |OT| Dark Scrolls

Bought a while ago in EA -but barely. Really interested in how it turned out

I like what I played but it was hard to judge just what the scope of the game is and how the systems come together

Is this only digital release??

What's yours with people who don't want digital?
Are we having a misunderstanding or what? I like physical by the way. I'll always get physical first, even if I have to import from Japan or Play-Asia. What's wrong with wanting physical?

You quoted me.
My post was in regards to if it's digital only.

It seemed more like your "here we go again" gif was meant in a negative way because someone asked if it's digital only. Because I see the digital people on NeoGAF like walking around and fuming by anyone mentioning they like physical. Digital only gamers are the new vegans

Guys, please, anywhere but the |OT| for this conversation lol.

Signalis Signalis the only proof I could find of anything physical with this game is a deluxe and collector's edition:

Both are limited release (only 2500 of them being made) and also they don't come with a disc, but instead a digital code of the game.

Thanks for the info. Sucks that it doesn't have a physical release. I'll skip it for now, maybe in the future if it's on sale I'll get it

I'm curious to see how this game does. Every video I could find about it was sponsored, they went hard with the marketing. Looking forward to seeing how people actually enjoy it.

Luality was playing it on stream today. Yes, it was a sponsored stream, but the game looked fun.

I bought it based on watching her playing the game but I'm not going to try it until the 1.0 patch is released on Friday since all saves are wiped.

FYI - she was playing the full version of the game. No clue how the differs from what is in EA right now.

Didn't realize there was an OT, nice! I'm very curious about this, and this is coming from someone who really dislikes bethesda style FP RPG's.

Surprised this is coming to consoles as well on 1.0. Great job from the devs. Indie devs thrivin right now.

I am not giving revenue that joke of a reviewer. Cant take him seriously after that hilarious Dragon Age Veilguard review. Just because he completes games at 100% does not mean he is a good judge

Changing the topic, I am watching some reviews, apparently there is some technical issues even tho is a very good game

You're going to have to be careful with this game's early reviews regardless, since they might be playing the Early Access build. The guy in that video above stated that he is reviewing the early access version and he isn't sure what changes will take place in the 1.0 version.

I mean, I use adblock so pretty sure he didn't got too much out of me either lol I posted it as it was the only video tied to this game that was on my feed

But yeah, seems like there has been some issues, especially on the late stages of the game that weren't a part of Early Access. I liked what I saw when I played the prologue a while back, but I'll probably wait some time before playing as I assume a lot of these issues will be ironed out by then

I'm on Discord of this game, they pinged everyone with a message they have sent keys to full version to reviewers and reviews are based on 1.0 version. Mortismal's review is based on a build they got on May 16th

9/10 from Czech site games.cz

They criticize graphics and production values not being AAA (but with the understanding that it is made by smaller team) but are pretty happy with the rest - story and gameplay.

I heard they added a 3rd-person camera option. I don't know how good it is, but it's there.

edit: see the first review I copied below. She demonstrates and talks a bit about it.

Finished the demo on PS5Pro, I'm...intrigued. Found it hilarious that it starts exactly as Oblivion does and then quickly discovering it mimics TES systems to a T but with some of it's own unique wrinkles.

Title screen theme song by Eddie Vedder singing with vikings? Sure, I'll take it lol. Immediately grabbed by the narrative, quality stuff. Some gorgeous art/environments hindered by some truly ugly, PS3 era visuals (most of the time) and inconsistent performance, couldn't even select performance Mode on Pro though I imagine the full release will allow it.

Combat/movement feels kind of stiff but otherwise OK, I beat the two optional bosses on my first try. I like the idea of mixing Oblivion with some Souls sensibilities to create a unique hybrid and appreciate multiple loadouts straight on the weapon wheel to adjust to your foe on the fly, wish Oblivion remaster added this sort of QoL thing.

Overall I want to see more, especially with how the demo ends. Will probably pick it up later this year after it's been sufficiently patched and the PS5 version is in a "good" state, could be a diamond in the rough.

Four reviews, all positive (although the Gaming Bolt review complains about bugs).

I'm relieved to see some well-lit and natural forested areas. I'd gotten the impression that the environments were all dark and gloomy.

What the hell is this? I've never even heard of this game, and the trailer looked cool af. Gameplay is nowhere near as cool, but looks better than Avowed and Starfield so wtf MS???

Not sure I'll have to check, I am not home to see what's going on was just browsing on my app and here but went to see and was able to dl it. It may be the demo but it is acting as if there are two different versions
1.0 will have more stuff. A bit more character creation options like face presets and hair styles and instead of 1 main zone/area there will be 3 to explore. 0.9 only had the first 1.

You'll have:
3 huge regions to explore (Misty Horns of the South, Sunlit Cuanacht Village, and Snowy Peaks of Forlorn Swords)
50-70 hours of gameplay
Full, branching main story quest with hundreds of different endings
200+ side quests
250+ unique NPCs
400+ unique weapons, including shields
55+ unique spells + 14 soul cubes
75+ dungeons
100+ unique enemies, including variants

Fun times ahead. I'm planning on doing a Mage run. Blood Magic and Summoning.
