Damnit. Now I have to name my character. I always stress over this in games lol
Can we change our name later on the same save file?
What did everyone name their characters?

You might have to tweak the graphics/performance in the settings a bit further than just selecting performance mode. They will continue to iron things out further in upcoming updates/patches.Anyone playing on Xbox have performance issues? I'm not normally sensitive to stuff like this, but it's all over the place. Zooming in with the bow is the most egregious, it turns into a slideshow that makes aiming impossible.
The enemies will hit hard depending on the difficulty. There is a parry system that makes it so that you don't take damage and instead they take stamina damage (and stamina depletion leads to a full stagger), but until you have a safer chance to practice parrying, I would suggest using the dodge feature earlier on and also running away from groups (or at least funneling them into smaller passages so that they line up instead of surround you).Am I just bad, or is combat in the tutorial surprisingly difficult?

This game is crazy, what the fuck.
I took a ton of screenshots but I'm not posting them because I don't want to ruin things, but holy shit what an insane blend of themes. Absolute perfection. I've never seen anything like this.
That King Arthur resurrection cutscene was metal as fuck, holy shit. KING OF KINGS
Its quite demanding for how it looks. I had to run DLSS at 90% to keep 60fps at 1080p max settings on a 3070 once I got to Avalon..Is the game fully fleshed out? And how is the performance, would it run decently on a Geforce 3060?
So there isn't "Modes" to pick from like Quality and Performance. Instead you can choose what resolution to play (nine options from 1080 to 4k) as and then pick a target FPS (30, 60, for Unlimited).
Not sure if 1260p and 1440p are much different in performance, but I'm currently playing at the former. Playing on PS5 Pro.
Yes, the demo is an older build. The main game still has some jank to it, but less than the demo. They will continue to update this game with updates and patches over time, especially now that it has officially released on consoles.Downloaded the PC demo after reading impressions here.
Wondering if the main game is this janky? Graphic bugs, and stuttering. I thought I saw where the demo is v0.9, so maybe it got cleaned up for 1.0?
The third person animations and the mode itself is a pretty big disappointment. i don't recommend using it and it's good that the developers give you a warning.
Let's hope the game is mod friendly and we get some in the near future to improve the experience
The art in the board game was amazing. The lore was really great as well. Awaken realms has some of the best fantasy/sci fi art out there. Their games all look amazing. This game is crazy, what the fuck.

Overall there is some jank, but let's not pretend that the combat or AI in Elder Scrolls games is good. The core combat here has much more depth than Elder Scrolls. I'm not far enough into the game to determine the variety of spells and how they will work in combat so can't comment on that yet. AI wise it's essentially the same. Super basic and serves its purpose.I really recommend everyone to temper their expectations because the game has some problems and it's quite buggy as well. I understand there is hunger for Elder Scrolls types of games but this is nowhere near as competent or as good as those games. The combat is really, really janky and enemy AI is not great. I think the music, art and vibes are awesome, but the gameplay itself is serviceable at best. This is literally the definition of eurojank.
I think developers should've delayed this 1.0 version and make it more polished in general

Yeah there's a lot of stuttering. Enjoying it so far but I've died a ton. Desperate peasants are killing me in the 1st village area.Looks good but based on impressions, it sounds like the game still needs some time in the oven. I'd rather wait until its in a better state because I learned my lesson last year after Stalker 2 released in an incomplete state.... didn't even finish it and have no desire to go back.
Top paid on Steam right now. Saw that, then came here to check this thread and now I'm buying it.This seems to be picking up traction online as the new viral "it" game.

For sure needs some patches for help with performance issues.
Also never seen a game use DLSS implementation with a percentage-based slider in the settings menu.
"How much DLSS do you want? 40%? 50%?" What does that even mean, lol.
It's the percentage it's upscaling from. Higher % = better quality, less performance.Performance is kind of whack for sure. I have a 4070 with DLSS enabled and graphic settings recommended on medium (which is a big wtf on itself) and there's no reason for a tiny dungeon area to stutter.
