Is there a good reason for the PS4 version when I own a decent PC? Unless it's a terrible port, of course. I get paranoid when decisions are too easy.

Good news anyhow.
It's up to the person you shouldnt need a yes man for this kind of questions, me prefer the ps4 and its ecosystem so it's a no brainer. Day one for me.

According to hltb it's 34-49 depending on how much extra stuff you do. I haven't played a longass jrpg in ages, feels weird to even think about such things.

It sure looks like there is moe color. I like it.

Not moe enough.

According to the latest results of my poll, it's an even split of people buying for PS4 and PC (RIP PS3) so it looks like everyone definitely has their own reason to choose one or the other. So I say don't worry about what other people choose and make your own choice.

Link to the poll for those who may have missed it.

Is the game that terrible ?

It's a very decent game, with some shortcomings but is totally serviceable, that got more or less sabotaged by its marketing campaign setting up some really bad expectations.

Think Brutal Legend.

By the way, on the box art of all 3 versions they advertise "bonus content", what do you think it'll be?
My guess is that they will include the
Alisha dlc episode
, but it could be something else.

lol, one person put themselves down for the PS3 version. The poll only allowed to put yourself down for one version but I might go for two, or possibly all three versions when the prices are right.

Oops. Well, I suppose consider the poll the one you want to be your primary version. :p

Gotta say I love that Japanese devs/pubs are embracing the releasing on Playstation and PC model (PS for it's home market and PS/PC for the western world). I feel like that extra revenue source from PC releases has made it much more viable to localize games for us that otherwise may not have released or may not have been profitable if released.

Believes Dragon Quest is a franchise managed by Sony
So is the PS3 version a total Shadows of Mordor level hack job, or does it run fine?

From what i've seen the performance issues are numerous unlike the previous games. It feels like the scope of the title was way too much for what they were going for. Pop in at every turn, major fps dips everywhere, no aliasing at 720p ect.

I can't wait to get the PS4 port, as it'll hopefully fly past these issues. Even if they dont include AA, 1080p should minimize the jaggies.

Glad to see this on PS4 and PC,

Hopefully it runs at 60fps. I can forgive simpler lower graphical fidelity and textures if it has a solid and responsive feel

Hopefully the people who ported Dragon Ball Xenoverse and Naruto games port this, they did a fantastic job with those on pc.

I tried to do some digging to see which branch of Namco is behind these ports, and from what I can tell it looks like Namco Bandai EU is leading the charge.

It's an interesting fact if true. SEGA Europe was the one who pushed forward the creation of Valkyria Chronicles PC, as another tidbit.

So is it typical for the European branches of major companies to prioritize the PC space?

Best kept secret in gaming.

Fuck yeah. PC PC PC aahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I don't know if it'll happen either, but I pray for 4k support and 60FPS.

Outside of Korea, Europe has the highest percentage of PC adoption among consumers.

Not surprising.

And even then, the game itself has a serviceable amount of costumes for each character, so this isn't like Xillia 1 again.

There are only an alternate color costume for every one, a variation of the default costume for the main character and one "different" costume for just 2 characters, it's exactly the same as Xillia.

Edit:
No wait, it's actually worse, in Xillia there are one new costume for Jude and one for Alvin, 2 new costumes for Milla and the alternate colors for everyone.

I saw that this news is being posted on a few JP blogs too, wonder how they're reacting to this announcement.

Also, day 1 PS4 for me :D

I commend Bamco for expanding to other platforms like this and taking a different approach to the West.

Still not planning on getting it day one, though. I'm curious to see if someone makes a mod for the PC version to fix the mechanics issues I have with the game.

Is the game good? I was watching some gameplay the other day, and it seems as though the combat no longer takes place in a small "arena" so to speak, it's all seamlessly done on the world map, right? It just looked..odd to me.

Ahhh, fujoshi bait. Sad cause it would have been neat to see that in one of my favorite series but in the end it doesn't really change my opinion or excitement.

Thanks for the information!

He's mistaken.
There's never explicit confirmation in the same way that most of the Tales romances don't have it, but Sorey and Mikleo are blatantly meant to be romantic. You'd have to be deliberately denying it not to see it.

I am pleased. Now, i'm just hoping for 1080p and 60fps. I really hated Xillia and Xillia 2's lag and slowdown. Maybe the ps4 and PC versions fields are more..lush? Who knows! Very excited!

It's a matter of opinion.
I see that as platonic bromance, not some kind of romantic relationship even if Mikleo fits the role more than any other character as I said previously.
