I can see no good reason they didn't announce pricing beforehand, it just doesn't make sense to me. So instead of getting fewer people paying $230 for some statues, they get a ton of really irritated people, and not even people willing to drop that much are able to.

Yeah, it's way on the high end for polystone statues, I was expecting $175 to be the tops. I placed a preliminary reservation through facebook, but I'll likely cancel during the 72 hour grace period. Maybe I'll justify it when/if the soldier or medic statues get released.Cheeto said:

I keep staring at this thing, but I just can't do $250 for a shelf warmer right now. And does that mean if I don't buy a figure now, I may have trouble getting some of the later ones, assuming a similar production run? Since they have that "number reservation system" in place for people who order the Heavy statues...

The biggest problem with this kind of thing is space, though. Start buying too much of it and then you have a real problem. That's why I'm not too upset about missing out on this. Something else will come along eventually that I will want even more. Life is full of once-in-a-lifetime opportunities.

Also also, expensive statue is expensive. I would pay $60 or $80 for something like that.

It's another one of those words that so many people have gotten wrong that it's now become acceptable to get it wrong. But technically, yeah, there's not supposed to be a trailing 's'. Same with "toward."

I've always been a big fan of the pyro, it's my most played class.
But I am struggling to get 1:1 kd now, 1.4kd if I'm super lucky. Really theres no reason to use it when I'm guaranteed to do better with every single other class.
Having said that, reflect killing shit is fucking fun, even if it's kinda random how often i succeed. Had an amazing moment earlier today, arrow sniper fires arrow, I reflect it, headshot a soldier in front of me. Sniper tries again, reflect it and kill him

I also like pyro, and yesterday I think I had one kill in the entirety of one hoodoo map. I'm not usually very good at pyro, but since the damage reduction I'm extra terrible. I like reflecting but I can't seem to figure out how to do it consistently at long range like some people, and spamming seems to precisely hit the spots between rockets. :lol I think someone mentioned one round where a backburner pyro topped the scoreboard, so maybe I should just try that instead.MrPing1000 said:I've always been a big fan of the pyro, it's my most played class.

But yeah, it seems like there are not many pyros anymore. If spies or ubers become annoying you might try spychecking or reflecting, but trying to repel ubers seems DANGEROUS to me.
One small consolation is that the non-cloak-and-dagger cloaks are broken now (though I don't technically remember if you get the half-visible outline if you bump into someone with the cloak and dagger), so pyro isn't even as necessary for spychecking. :lol Unfortunately that makes it extra risky to do long-distance cloak and dagger teleporter harassment.
I played for a few hours this week in various places with the vanilla flamethrower. The patch gave me additional incentive to use the axtinguisher more, so I didn't really suffer much worse (if at all, I stayed positive the whole time). Used my shotgun over the flare gun when scouts and shit started running all over the place. Backburner worked well enough when I switched, but I eventually switched back to the vanilla because I like the airblast.

Compression blasts are as overpowered as ever. I had one - as in singular - pyro airblast my uber away against a wall. I wasn't even in a corner. He held out for the full charge.Blizzard said:

I'd play but I have to work on my internet being crappy. It gets where my ping shoots up to 1000+ lately and I'm trying to fix it.

It's a shot in the dark, but have you considered moving off that volcano? AT&T can't be supplying good quality internetz all the way up there!
I had AT&T for a couple months when I moved here, and I happened to play TF2 on it. Lower ping because there was no wireless delay like there is now. However, AT&T is known to cook the books and slam billing cycles, so I had to dump them. The bill shot up to over three hundred in two fucking months - basic phone, mid-range speed on internet (1500mbps down?), nothing else. It was a ripoff.Volcynika said:
