Ok, okay, I understand that they have a bad imagination. There are so many different games from which to take a character, and they are taking from Final Fantasy for the second time, and they chose ... Not even Tifa, who would have been perfect for Tekken, but a character from the most commercially unsuccessful FF Square Enix has released up to this point. Whose idea was this, Harada? And most importantly, why?

Don't know and don't care. You should be able to use custom characters on the home screen in 12 and a half hours though. Hopefully a new fighting pass is also up.

Clive is sick, after playing with him I'm glad they put him in the game. They did a really good job of bringing his abilities over and he has some really cool combos. The stage is cool too. I think once everyone gets over the disappointment of not getting Tifa they'll realize that he's actually a great addition to the game.

No, it doesn't work that way, no one liked Noctis in Tekken 7 (Especially at high ranks), and now everyone's eyes are twitching from Victor (Cancer of this game), this game is not Soulcalibur, people don't play Tekken to fight with weapons, one Yoshimitsu is more than enough (Although no one likes him either, especially at high ranks). If they want to add characters with weapons so much, let them resurrect Soulcalibur and add it there, I don't play Tekken to be beaten with swords while I try to fight with my hands and feet.

It called Iron Fist for a reason, not Iron Sword.
And I keep seeing people used Yoshimitsu as example. Yoshimitsu use sword but he has more punch and kick than sword moves. And he is Tekken original character. Fuck Victor btw, bullshit character.
I don't even like any guest character to be honest. Noctis, Akuma, Geese, Negan, Clive. None of those look fun to me. Well maybe Negan because he actually play like tekken character.

I hate how they're basically ignoring the fact that Soul Calibur and Tekken always complimented one another with one being weapon based and the other being martial arts based. It's criminal what they're doing to the identity of the series with these outlandish wacky anime character designs like Clive, Victor and the recent iterations of Yoshi and Devil Jin. Even fucking Jin, the definition of honest karate man, is now doing fantasy anime flips and transformations. I think it's just low effort design.

I hate all guest characters. And I agree about Jin, I loved him in 4 and 5, but now he fights like a Shonen character. I fought a ton of Noctis in T7 and they weren't fun to fight against, though most of them I faced were predictable scrubs.
Soul Calibur is secretly better. SC2 is still my number one 3D fighter of all time. I luckily still have access to the HD version which was low effort, but better than nothing. For all I care they release SC2 again, I likely play it rather than this.

After trying the Virtua Fighter beta, I decided to refund Tekken 8. They've turned this game into a special move showcase. I even used them myself, and I couldn’t enjoy my victories. The series is heading in a direction I don’t like. I'm not a big fan though, if fans are happy, good for them. I'm out.

I really hope Revo finds a sustainable playerbase on PC because it's the perfect game to compliment T8 with its restrained animations and generally snappy execution. I feel like Tekken is in need of some developer change. The current devs are turning Tekken into pure satire of it.

I also feel like he would have better as a Soul Calibur character. I'm ok with some Tekken characters like Yoshimitsu or Kumimitsu having weapons that complement their fighting styLes, but Clive just feels out of place here. It would have been better fan service to pull in another classic Tekken character.

There is a reason I think T3 and TTT1 are the best. And T5 DR still.
Those games are more grounded, and just more fun to play with less comeback mechanics and stupid shit. I think the roster of T5 DR is fine too, basically everyone fans ask for is there. Anna, Armor King, Bruce? All there.
And I think Tekken also misses the mark with newcomers since 7. Gigas, Katarina, Claudio, Lucky Chloe, Josie, Shaheen... sorry but none of them resonated with me.

Tekken Tag 1 and Tekken 4 are different games (that I also enjoy). Tekken 5 stuff is still ingrained into a layer of Tekken 8, but there is a lot of stuff on top of it. That said, there is no other Tekken game that fills me with the same joy as playing EWFG Kuma, Leroy, Claudio (as Rugal's twin brother), and (oriental) Traditional Lars in Tekken 8.
P.S. They should get the unwanted guest off the start screen ASAP.
