Thanks to the BC on XB1 and the free download for a week, and the overall hype for T7, there's been a lot of activity on TTT2 lately. In game and number of streams.

Sounds like pretty logical inclusions to me. Miguel and Bob were the most popular characters yet to be included (that didn't have their moves taken by someone else). Anna, Julia and Lee following up from there. This is all eyeballing Tekken-Net popularity btw. Bears and Lei are mainstay. Raven is the last black man on Earth, apparently. Mokujin was obvious.

If that list was true then Tekken 7 would have just as many movelists to figure out the match up for as Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (taking out the clones).

Highly doubt that will happen after the public outcry.

My enthusiasm for new characters has dropped considerably. Not a fan of what we got. I don't think the designs are exactly up to par with previous games.

I'm the one determining character popularity via Tekken-Net (which we can use to look at Japan, Korea and everywhere else that uses an arcade). However Namco Bandai can track console popularity too, remember Tekken Federation? They have all the character popularity data, and from what I've seen I doubt there's a whole lot of variation between regions. It's not like Roger is suddenly super popular in Europe.

Maybe, but it's kind of confusing to have it spread out like that. Top 8 is on the Namco fight channel. I'd rather have it in one place like Capcomfighters.

Jack used to freak me out when he looked less obviously like a robot. Something very uncanny about him, but I really liked that.

It'd probably take a big moveset revamp to make him more proportionate again, what with all the attacks involving extending limbs.

Now Jack is just goofy, like so many other characters.

They are the exception, and there are reasons for them being actually good: One is a Mishima, the other one was handed with extra care (they asked the arab fans for feedback)

Swapping around a few colors (including making previously dark areas glow) doesn't constitute a redesign. Not to the same extend that every other character (minus Law, who also needs one) has received one.

SFxT even had better animations on him than Namco's effort.

I'd say Kuma animates about as well as Street Fighter V's background NPC's. It's hard for me to tell which looks more bootleg.

I couldn't find any better gifs. His post Tekken 5 animations are nice, but that circus spin probably hasn't changed much at all since Tekken 3.

The Mishimas, King, and others all have some ugly remnants of their legacy animations with twisted spines or awkward grabs, so it's a bit of a double standard.

It'd be hard to find truly ancient Kuma animations in Tag2. It's just he's a bear and his animations look wonky but they probably wouldn't want to lose an arm and a leg trying to motion capture this huge furball XD.
