I say all time, you give me a month. Of which Lars is at 12th, two placers lower than I said.

Funny, if you flick to March, Lars is at 9.

I'm confused, you're proving my point that Lars had a pretty consistent tier placing in vanilla?
This was when the game only had like 23 characters. Being 12th place is like midway on the list.

Insults? I'm actually trying to understand what you're saying.
It's very simple to understand and doesn't need explanation. His popularity is at an all time low in S. Korea.I f he was still near S tier, I doubt thatd be the case regardless of how many akumas or Nina's got revealed.

Sayah is mad that the public might actually like characters or things that he(?) hates, and is grasping at any information to discredit Bamco's choices.

Arcade popularity rankings are reasonably representative of overall popularity, with a slant toward competitive play. It's not too huge otherwise Asuka or Lili would be at the bottom, but there's certainly a chunk of Japanese and Korean casuals. It has no representation for console popularity, where Lars was heavily pimped toward Western casuals. Japan didn't get that marketing, Lars wasn't even in vanilla 6 to judge. In Asia he was a tier/design popular character.

And at the end of the day - and I've said this before - Bamco have far greater depths of information to pull from to gauge character popularity. Far more than any of us. They likely know who Joe nobody is mashing with in SP arcade mode as long as they're connected to the Internet. How any of us feel*, or think others feel is essentially irrelevant. So if you don't think a character should be included, chances are you're wrong, not Bamco.

*I like every character, feels fucking good when nothing is a disappointment.

Just before Gigas, who coincidentally was played for a month or two and dropped to the bottom. E: or Jack or Yoshi who also can be found near the bottom.

It's almost like Lars has a reasonably consistent place and new character inclusions/balance changes are what messes with it.

That's good for you that you like every character. I might hate some characters but it's also undeniable that tier whoring is an actual thing. Whereas Lars may have been probably top 5 at least in popularity for a game of close to 60 characters, dropping down to 12 in a game of 23+ is only evidence of this. He got nerfed, people stopped using him. And now as more and more characters are releasing, he's apparently dropped all the way to the bottom of the list. I don't think you've actually done anything to prove that he's no longer as popular as he used to be, and I think it can be confidently said that tiers have an impact here. Ease of use is also a factor. D. Jin might be S tier but you can't mash/spam with him like you can with Bob/Lars

Yeah, Lars is the one that drops down to 23 something while characters like Paul, Bryan, King maintain popularity at the top. Your logic is hilarious. Adding only TWO new characters is responsible for Lars dropping 13 some places in character usage rankings.

I never said Lars was as popular as before, I'm just saying he's not bottom popularity. One month of FR where everything is out of whack isn't proof or anything, unless you think Nina is suddenly Japan's #3 favorite character.

FR is more than character inclusions. I've been at the arcades since 5.0, I know how this plays out. First month popularity post-changes pre-nerfs and before players learn the new aren't indicative of anything. This balance update and Bob's inclusions will change things again. So will September's update. So will players learning the game.

Anyway I'm just going to put you on the ignore list. It's been pretty clear for a long time you don't really know what you're talking about, and just want to hate what you hate and not consider that players might have different opinions or Bamco might know better. I'm not going to waste my time when I could just go and play T7 with players who know the damn game.

Didn't have meaningful retorts to my points. Decides to use ignore list. About as expected. LOL. I'm glad. Don't really want to be wasting time with someone who uses flawed logic to explain things.

Is it just me or does the FR character select screen feel.. cluttered?

Maybe because they tried to put characters in some logical order eg. Mishimas are in the main square with Kazumi above Hei. Paul&Law together. Steve and Hwo because punches and kicks. Lars, Alisa the perverted couple. Leo and Lili are friends. New chars put together in square on right and row on left. Drag, Bryan and Yoshi because drinking buddies.

Obviously they run out for connetions to King, Feng, Jack, Raven, Bob and ruined all that neat order hahahah.

Some characters are played and remain popular regardless of their tier ranking (Alisa). Other characters are played exclusively because of their tier ranking. I love how Lars moved all the way to the bottom of the arcade character popularity rankings in Tekken 7 thanks to the nerfs. I think Bob will be a similar scenario if he similarly gets downgraded to a B-tier character. Only the few die hard fans will use him. Therearedozensofus.gif

Yet somehow Bob and Lars are in the game despite being liked by barely anyone. Whereas characters like Miguel and Zafina, whose designs/personalities a lot of people liked, will probably never make it into Tekken 7 because they weren't S tier characters to begin with (in T6 or TTT2).

Circumstantial evidence but..

I saw more Lars/x teams than any other in TTT2, quite a few Bobs. Virtually nobody played Miguel, and even less played Zafina

After careful deliberation I've determined the Tekken 7 soundtrack is very good. Not as good as the highs the Tekken 5 and 6 soundtrack reached(5DR is the best FG soundtrack of all time) but still quite good. Top 3 standouts are Jungle Outpost, Souq, and the Devil Kazumi theme. Discuss.

I'm going to wait for the console release to form an opinion on it, but I've noticed that I like quite a few of the 3rd/final round themes.

I've been saying this for awhile bit Tekken 7s ost is pretty awesome. I specifically like:

Souq - version 2
The long goodbye
Jungle outpost - both versions
Kazumi theme
Devil kazumi theme
Devil's Pit - both versions
Mishima Dojo - both versions

Jungle Outpost
Mishima Dojo
Devil's Pit

Best stage tracks in vanilla T7

Akuma's stage and Mishima Building in FR are also very good.

I just got finished playing Vanquisher death matches with AAK for the third day in a row, and it revealed quite a lot of information to me, no surprising information but appreciated information.

The information that I got is that I don't have a main team or main character anymore. Instead of focusing on getting good with one character, I think I'm gonna focus with getting good at Tekken. I'm a flowchart player. Flowcharting wins, and when it wins that gives me a reason to think that flowcharting is a valid way to play Tekken, which is how the cycle restarts. I'm ready to strip down my habits and truly understand the reasoning behind what I want to do things in Tekken.

There has to be a reason why I'm winning by flowcharting and losing by flowcharting. I'm not only looking at why I win, I look at why I win too. I criticize myself, its a valuable thing to do.

Thanks AAK for the 10 hours of back and forth demotions. I'm gonna get in practice mode and just try to understand how to space, punish and learn some frames.

No problems! Honestly check out Manny Biggz recent tutorial he posted on the discord. After the 10 win streak you had I began to just look back at the basic strategies he laid down and just started basing everything on getting you to block my jab and proceeding with the meta afterwards.

Akuma stage is definitely one of the best tracks in the series. Aside from that it's just the Kazumi themes/stage that stand out to me. The rest sound kind of inconsequential while the T6 scenario campaign ruin stage is personally very unappealing. Despite the Akuma stage being Killer Instinct S1 & S2 levels of awesome, I enjoy T3/T5(DR)/TTT1/T2/T6 soundtracks significantly more considering the magnitude of consistently incredible tracks spread throughout those packages.

Edit: Don't know if they count but the music during the Akuma/FR reveal trailer and the E32016 trailer are also top tier. I found those tracks faaaar superior to anything else in T7 vanilla.

Not a fan of T7 OST

The ones I like:

1. Devil's Pit (Final Round)
2. Jungle Outpost
3. SOUQ / Final Round

I was just watching a 2 min section of a 4 hour archive of Aris talking about how rage quitters aren't being punished at all in Street Fighter, on the mobile device right now but I'll post a link to it later.

I saw it live, it was hilarious when he got matched against someone who had just rage quit on him and he still had 4 game win streak.

Can't right now :/

TMM is sharing some interesting stuff while he's in Tokyo. Seems like Heihachi's OTGF now launches like his ff+2. He now has another safe mid launcher... smh.

Yeah , that was revealed day one, but seems like no one is using it at the moment from the footage i have seen.
