what do the best selling cars in the US sell in a year?

The Honda Accord sells about 350k per year. The Ford F-150 sells about 750k per year. Assuming these all turn into firm sales/leases, that's not too bad for one day.

I happen to like the design a *lot* - I know you can't make everyone happy but it works for me (I'm guessing the interior is still in prototype stage though). I will sell my soul to pay for one of these.

looks good from some angles, bad from others. TBH, i'd probably make it my next car if there were more than 3 charging stations in my city.

I'm presuming you don't have a garage or a driveway then. I drive an electric, and my wife has a Volt. We've got a level 2 charging station in our driveway. We'll never go back. This will quite possibly be my next car.

I mean it's pretty much in line with what they can afford to do economically. Anyone thinking they were getting a slightly not as nice model S was delusional.

If chevy is making low margins on a similarly priced volt with their economies of scale, Tesla's not going to be able to deliver something vastly nicer all around for similar price.

It looks like a tesla styled economy electric car, which is fine.

I'll need to see one in person... Not sure I love the look.

But goddamn is that a fully featured 35,000 car.

This is going to move the industry forward, and we'll all win because of it.

Thank you, Mr. Musk.

I love the front glass and the interior looks very roomy. Kinda regret my Volt 2016 for just a second when they unveiled it.

Looks terrific! I was thinking about holding off for one of these, but instead took delivery of a Model S a few weeks ago. I am happy with my choice -- but we may be a two-Tesla home in about two years.

I'm loving that ridiculous windshield-to-sunroof-to-rear single pane glass!
