Just one big screen? Whoa

This is not new or even well implemented. Look at the e class or s class if you want perfection when it comes to screen implementation on dashboards, the 3 looks cheap and boring. With options, I bet an e class would be the same price as a decent 3.

I'm presuming you don't have a garage or a driveway then. I drive an electric, and my wife has a Volt. We've got a level 2 charging station in our driveway. We'll never go back. This will quite possibly be my next car.
A lot of people live in cities with no driveway and sometimes no parking spot. For example in a row home.

On more reflection I don't outright hate it but it needs some improving.

A longer backside to look more proportional and a grill. Otherwise it would be great.

As far as sedans under 35k look it's in the group of better looking ones, and it's by far the best looking electric car I've seen other tesla vehicles aside.

But Id hold off on pricing and options. Look at what the base model offers vs trying to make it decent.

At the end of the day it won't matter though I live in Texas and this state has made it near impossible to buy a tesla.

Hmm but it's still just one big screen lol

I've never liked the Tesla tablets. I like being able to adjust my AC or volume without taking my eyes off the road. For anyone who owns a Tesla, do you find the touch screen interface difficult while driving?

well, it's very very nice... but I guess it won't be my next car for lease issue - but it will certainly be one of my top list on the following car.

Too bad if it gets too popular, it will start losing the federal tax credit though... :( Oh well. Perhaps by then the price would be a bit down, or maybe I can even get a 2nd hand one.

You can't compare a Mercedes to a Tesla. I was down to a Model S vs. an AMG C63S and I have to admit, the Mercedes blew me away with its interior. It oozed class and bling. The Teslas definitely fall short there. However, in just about everything else, the Tesla won out (for me, personally). I haven't looked back.

I wonder if the front looks objectively weird or if your brain is just not used to the front being solid like that.

The sides and back look great. The front...urrgghhhhh, it kills it. The front makes it look like a Prius.

Amazing standard features tho. Please don't kill us with the CAD conversion rate Musk.

I agree, the no grill thing is what throws the whole thing off.

Didn't realize it at first, but that's why it looks so strange.

It really needs a grill even if its just slots on that flat face. Make the air get routed under the car and around the brakes or something.

A little bit boring is my first impression, especially the interior. Just a down sized model s really. Could have changed the design a little bit.

Hopefully that interior is no where near the final design. It is shocking how bare it is.

Looks way better though, and it way more functional since the info is right in front of you, not centered. This look is coming to the C Class next year, which will compete directly with the 3 in price at around $35,000.

(sorry for the big pic!)

I agree with you, but the C class facelift will make it such that it will be in direct competition in price, which should scare Tesla when it comes to looks and bling. I'm a bit underwhelmed with the 3, to be honest, I was expecting it to be a bit more classy and it ended up a bit plain in my taste, but to each their own.

I don't mind the lack of grill. It doesn't have an engine, why does it need a grill, other than to satisfy the traditional design ideas of what a car's face should look like?

Holy crap! This managed to exceed all my expectations (which were pretty damn high). It looks so damn amazing too, best looking compact car I've ever seen. Looking forward to getting mine next year.
