The people who are saying the front end looks like a mouth that's been sewed shut are dead on. It's so weird.

Frankly im tired of the trend of ever larger and more obnoxious grills. Theyre dumb, glad Tesla is going against the grain.

You can't compare a Mercedes to a Tesla. I was down to a Model S vs. an AMG C63S and I have to admit, the Mercedes blew me away with its interior. It oozed class and bling. The Teslas definitely fall short there. However, in just about everything else, the Tesla won out (for me, personally). I haven't looked back.

Can't say that the Model S is a better drive personally, but again opinions. Gadget wise the Model S wins though.

You now belong to FMT.
My girl just got the ford fusion Energi and that has made me think about electric for my next car..... I want this ... I want it badly.

I wonder if other companies will jump the gun and get something electrical and sexy out in time.

wow the black one is BEAUTIFUL, safety features included, supercharging included, doubling superchargers. Interior has to be not finished.

Also I fucking love the interior. I hate these hybrid small 5 inch screens and still have buttons everywhere in today's car. Either go all in or don't, just like the S. Shit is convenient when I can control everything from one main console and that's it. Plus it looks sleek as shit and not clustered.

That C-class pictured above looks cluttered and ugle to me.

I'm glad there are no grills. It's a vestige of older technology. There is no need for it in an electric car.

There's also no need for an electric car to make any noise whatsoever but I believe manufacturers have purposely needed to make the car playback operating noise because people alive today have been conditioned their entire lives to listen for the sound of an approaching vehicle to know to avoid it. The early electric cars were nearly running people over because they simply couldn't hear it coming and didn't know to be looking around for a car instead of listening for the distinctive sound of a ICE vehicle.

You like me, you really really like me!
A little bit boring is my first impression, especially the interior. Just a down sized model s really. Could have changed the design a little bit.

Hopefully that interior is no where near the final design. It is shocking how bare it is.

The Model 3 needs to be as boring as possible so they can manufacture it without issues. Those falcon wing doors on the Model X have caused major headaches, I doubt Elon wants to deal with THAT again. Especially on the car that's going to make or break the company. Tesla's future is dependent on the Model 3 being a success.

Change for the sake of change is not good change. Having critical information in front of you, like SPEED, is important, you shouldn't be taking your eyes off the road in front of you to check how fact you are going. This thing better have a HUD system, which is likely does, but just goes to show you some information in front of you is better than in a dash center.

Blind people can't hear a silent car. Animals would have problems in some cases too.

That looks sleek? It looks like someone used an after market kit to mount an iPad to their dash. I can get behind a big screen, but this is not a good implementation of it at all. It must be early.

I think you quoted the wrong person...

I'm not seeing the Prius similarities you guys are seeing.

Is it just "thing that looks ugly to me" == Prius?

The higher back semi-hatch wagonish design. it's there. it looks really unbalanced and not sleek, aggressive nor sporty.

This is more what I had in mind.

Prius's don't have the dashboard anymore either. The one's on the S and X are really big, and pretty. Also $$$. So yeah, I'm sure that interior isn't final, but I'm also not surprised if the dash doesn't get put on the 3 due to price concerns.

Yes but the lack of a grill doesn't have the potential to kill people so they're not exactly equivalent.

Agreed, I like the minimalist design.

The driver in the periscope video claims that screen will be the only thing to display speed.

oh boy

Looks like they may be committing on the internals.

That's for blind people. And designers can get creative if they want. They can have a small chirping sound if it detects people around, for instance, but shut it off when on the highway. Less noise pollution is always a good thing.
