TGA Public GOTY winner leaked (accounts for 10% of final vote)

Nope. God of War won more.
God of Winning

What? The percentage isn't about how many votes there are. All the votes have been accounted for.
And yet they only weight 10%.. if the other 90% which isn't choosen by the Public goes for another game we can have another game winning overall

What's hard about this? If the journalists choose another game, their vote accounts for 90%.. even if the public choose ratchet, it could still lose

All games on that list aren't classics.

This. No one will remember any of these games as classics 2 years from now. They were just exceptional games released in a year where covid took a big shit over game releases, tahts what this will be known for.

Its like winning a nba championship during the bubble

This years game of the year winner is the equivalent of the movie The Replacements.

The wording from your first comment sucked that's why you confused me

I have nothing against the game but i hate the purple rat girl. I believe her name is Rivet. The "blinking" gif triggers me.

Most of those reworked gifs are triggering, not sure why. Same with Ellie recreation of same gif.

Good ones are from Ghost of Tsushima, they look more normal. But I don't have them on my hand.

Psychonauts is looked upon as a classic. I fully expect in 10 or 15 years people will look back on 2 with the same fondness.

Why fan voting is and will always be dumb...its the worst platformer on the list...Metroid, It takes two and Psychonauts are all far superior in the genre.

Fan voting is an expression of the opinion of many. If you disagree then fine. Obviously many are going to regardless of which game received the most votes. But calling the vote "dumb" simply because you disagree is nothing but sour grapes.

tf....who are about goty I'm saying just that the rules are idiotic

Relax man, what rules are you talking about? Most gamers voted for R&C. it's a simple poll like the ones we have here in some threads. Or maybe you're crying about Forza not being there, well Returnal wasn't nominated either. 🤷‍♂️

My guess is that it's just a website bug.

I see people actually running with this on twitter, accusing Geoff Keighley of it being rigged.
If it wins, its proof of being rigged, according to them.
If it doesn't the whole story will be forgotten and repeat next year because noone remembers shit like this.

This is why award shows are useless and don't mean anything. I only watch this crap because of the "world premieres"

A game has some glitches? Wow. Shocking.

But Insomniac's games generally don't have the level of glitches Rift Apart does. It's a downgrade in quality control for ironing out the glitches pre-release in that team's case, probably due to timing constraints.

As opposed to what, Dread, It Takes Two, Psychonauts? Lol

An shit, resident evil village is barely 10 hours long itself

Length isn't the only factor (for me it's not even a big deal TBH), but combined with the other things I think a game like It Takes Two or Metroid Dread is probably more deserving of GOTY than Rift Apart.

Again, tho, it comes down to what the critics are using as their primary metric in determining what's GOTY-worthy. There's already question of legitimacy thrown in doubt when the least biased metric, review score aggregate, apparently isn't the primary one given some higher-rated games that met the date were snubbed out. The only other numerically-driven metrics would be game sales and game revenue, but again some of the actual nominees don't meet the paygrade there, either.

So it's pretty much a subjective category and comes down to "feels" but "feels" can't be objectively measured that's why I think they should have at least two GOTY categories one based on subjective tastes and one based on a measurable objective metric like review score average, total sales, most revenue or largest number of players (well you could call that last one something like Most Popular Game instead tbh).

Lol let me guess, you looked up some reddit thread to find some issues and extrapolated that as being a wide spread issue
There's plenty of compilations on Youtube showing various glitches. I don't touch Reddit.

All I'm really saying is it has more glitches than typical of Insomniac. It's not Cyberpunk levels of glitchiness, but there are glitches.

Meh, i played them all and they all feel like 8's to me. I would argue that every single one of those games deserve to win or lose equally.

Dread and psychonauts are not far better than rift apart and vice versa. They are all just decent games that shined in a time when there was no competition.

None of these games would have even been nominated last year

So your evidence of it being glitchier than any other Insomniac release are individuals uploading glitches they found on youtube

Yeah, like I said, you're extrapolating

People should stop getting these awards so personal. That means PlayStation paid for more advertisment, we all know ratchet and clank is not even the best ps5 exclusive.

it's supposed to be the game of the year, it was alright fun and an absolutely piss easy platinum in like 15 hours. There are tons of games that should be put above ratchet and clank this year, like literally all those games on that list And I'm a huge insomniac fan. It was complete cutty cutter ratchet and clank, it didn't do anything new over previous entries. I would rather play crack in time with the stolen Mario galaxy 3d planet levels.

no hitman 3, no returnal, no yakuza 7 (ps5 launch) no forza. I mean, what is this lol.
Shock What GIF
