X-Play is going to have a hands on demo of Infamous sometime next week. i forget that day but im pretty sure its on their website

is this something to be excited about?

it says there will be a big announcement along with the release date of advent children complete

Google Language Tools, buddy.

In an interview with Japanese magazine Dengeki PlayStation, Tetsuya Nomura offers some interesting details about Final Fantasy VII Advent Children Complete, Blu-ray version of the film out there is already a certain time. We thought so far only a few bits of footage had been added, but little information and a complete absence of release date proved to be quite strange. In fact, according to Nomura, these are passages of the whole scenario that have been added and others who have been modified. In the end, the film should win in length and density. The Japanese release date has been decided, but it will have to wait (probably to the event DK Σ3713 in early August) so that it is unveiled. Nomura also notes that a big announcement that should accompany the release date, without giving more details ... Such vagueness should encourage the wildest rumours.

Tetsuya Nomura is also rapidly on the development of Final Fantasy XIII Versus, a topic that had already provoked a general cafouillage a few weeks ago. The director of Thursday confides that the team is currently working above is very reduced, for the simple reason that the cinematics team is dedicated primarily to Advent Children Complete and programmers lend a hand to those of FFXIII. No, really, Versus XIII should not arrive for a while... As a consolation, we can expect to have FFXIII faster.

Because they, like the rest of the civilized world, know that FFVIIR is inevitable. It's never been a matter of if but when.
And, for the Chicken Littles among us, a question of platform :(

Well it says "big announcement" not a "big game announcement" so it could be anything, tho that could also just be a translation thing.

Square-Enix are NOT going to announce a FFVII remake tho, I don't think they'll ever do one, but they're certainly not going to announce it anytime soon. They don't have any developers left to work on it. Members of the Versus XIII have been moved over to FFXIII to help get that finished, there's simply no one left... and they would need a good 200 people.

well if rumors of a december japan release for FFXIII have any truth to 'em, SE could be doing anything behind the scenes

Be still, my heart. Don't get my hopes up for things I know are impossible.

Reading the translation again, so the announcements are not for DKΣ3713 for sure? Too much to hope we hear something from E3? XD

I wonder if the FFXIII team will help out with vsXIII, in return, or be moved to a dif project.

Well, he did mention about it on Dengeki Playstation, so one can assume it has a very high chance to be on a Sony system.

Wait...wait. Is Sony the bread or the butter in this analogy?

And if Sony are the butter to SE's bread then surely that makes Nintendo some kind of delicious sweet jam.

Leaving Microsoft as some kind of rotting, disease ridden cat that's incessantly meowing for food only to have the cat flap slammed in it's face.......

True, but that's possible because they've got pretty much every available man working on it. I guess if FFXIII does come out this December or March 09 they could move the guys back onto Versus XIII and then the rest of the FFXIII staff get working on FFVII:RE. Then when Versus is done move everyone over to FFVII:RE.

But it will take so many years before the FFVII: RE project starts to ramp up that it would be insane to announce it so soon. I really want a FFVII remake, but the earliest we could hope for an announcement is a few years from now.

I pray I'm wrong tho :p

FF VII remake will be on Wii. Action RPG Confirmed.

...Unless Sony fronts some SERIOUS cash for a remake, and tells SE they will once again Publish it.

god you guys are willing to believe anything right now aren't you :lol

chill out. keep your guard up.

I want to believe just as much as the next guy, but I just can't anymore. It's been two years.

I'd guess release time frame.

FFVII won't come out on PS3 until all the FFXIII games are out. PSP is a possibility. I'd love to see 7, 8, 9 with "CC-grade plus a bit" graphics.

doubt it'd take that long. crystal tools are up and running. they can pretty much skip the scenario writing part. all the characters and other designs are already set. hell, they already have parts of midgar's design done in 3D. and they can farm out the cg to that chinese studio again.

Never, ever going to happen. Sony has been fronting SERIOUS cash to SE for the last decade to keep the main FF installments on PlayStation. Kaz would sooner commit seppuku than see FFVIIR end up on Wii. As JollyCorner has pointed out, Nomura and Kitase want as much rendering power as possible for a remake - a real-time visual equivalent of Advent Children.

to me this would be the best solution.

It would take a lot less time and money to get these projects going and it would allow other teams to work on new projects.

Problem with PSP is storage. Crisis Core was a fraction of the length of a full FF, and apparently things had to be cut (voice tracks, etc) to fit it on the UMD. Considering the fact that even the 3 and 4 remakes had voice acting, there's no way in hell 7+ remakes would exclude it. Factor it all together, I don't see any way they could possibly fit on handhelds without using multiple UMDs/carts. Have we seen any multi-disk handheld games yet?

I'm sure they'd want extra profit more so than having a visual equivalent of AC.

Please don't be a 360 port. FF needs to stay exclusive.

NCSoft is suppose to announce that mmo at e3 right? i mean they said sometimes this summer. so at Sony's E3 or are they planning something else? ;o

I just don't trust S-E to spread themselves out in making a multiplat game. Have they ever made one that turned out good?

Facepalm polar bear knows that FFVII will never be ported to 360 in this universe so no worries about multiplat anything.
