they had it today i believe. nothing sports related except nba i think. i dunno wasnt paying much attention.

Normal, since they won't show anything. I do not even think they realized the impact this news had on the sony userbase.

Plus, I think they consider enough "compensation" (and it is not) Versus + Jap exclusive of FFXIII.

They really need to have some kind of megaton(s) up their sleeves if they are to convince me that I still should get a nerfed PS3 with a small HD and no PS2 backwards comptability. Really having a hard time justifying a purchase at the moment (it's alot of money for someone like me), seeing as this gen has become all about multiplatform and timed-"exclusives", which in that department Microsoft seems to do everything right while Sony is doing everything wrong.

I felt great sadness in the FF13 announcement, followed by anger, and now I realize what's really important in this world. It's not the console they develop games for, but square enix themselves. Final Fantasy has always been something magical for me and that will never change no matter what console it is on. The people working on the game are still the same.

Sony's 1st party is severely underrated. The only really big franchises they have are Gran Turismo and maybe God of War. And I guess Resistance is up there now as well.

Everything else never seems to build up much of a following, despite their quality. I'm not sure if it's advertising, or the fact that their studios constantly switch to new IPs, or maybe it's because they pump out too many titles in a series too often, causing them to become stale too quickly (Nintendo generally has one Super Mario per generation, and the leap between each is pretty significant. Imagine if Insomniac had gone straight from Ratchet & Clank to Ratchet & Clank Future), but something causes the public to low ball Sony's in-house development teams.

I guess Nintendo's success could be contributed to Nintendo's development cycles. Nintendo's large franchises have brand recognition because they are really, really old, but despite their age they don't really become stale because we get new iterations of each franchise so rarely. Sony's titles, outside of Gran Turismo, aren't like this. And Gran Turismo sells the most of all their titles by far.
