FLASH's 1.6, while still very good, was down about 12% from debut. I transposed last week's A18-34 (1.6) with A18-49 (1.9)
So it didn't hold even with last week, but it's still very good for week 2.

Nah, but it seems to be going well, bring on the 23 episode season.

Iris is for now the weakest point of Flash show.

With Katlin they are building toward something, with Thawne they are keeping him as "unoffensive background char", but Iris is thrown in every episode without any purpose [IMO]. But OK, she is a small bad point in a awesome show that only aired 2 episodes.

I'm really sick of this girl 'journalist', what a pointless plot point. How long is she not going to know what he is?

Yeah, it's a bit tripe, but it is her background
It's also Lois'
And Vicki Vale

DC only knew how to make one type of girlfriend back in the day

At least, Carol is a business owner!

The show keeps going. I love how fast the word of The Flash is spreading compared to how the vigilante tried to stay hidden.

Arrow did not have explosion that covered his entire city with theoretical particles and radiation. He had list of gangsters to kill off, and then remnants of his past started to haunt him when they heard about his exploits in Starling City.

That is true, but he even kept it from his friends.

Iris in comics starts out as Flash's girlfriend, they get married and have virtually no relationship drama. I know this is the CW so there has to be *some* drama, but hopefully it's kept to a minimum.

It's only been two episodes but the people in charge I think have made it pretty clear that they're not fans of the "hero hiding his identity from the people close to him" thing, Amell even said as much at the NYC Comicon the other day.

If Iris West is the low point of the show then I think we're doing just fine.

Giving Felicity a damn run for that dress-swag crown.

Those boots and dress are an odd combination but I can work with it. But yeah if Iris is the low point so far I think we're good, I doubt she'll ever get to Laurel levels or worse, Lana Lang levels.

She's the Laurel of Flash. It is our cross to bear.

Oh well, that explains why I already like her just as much as Laurel :D

Also, will we have the EXACT SAME discussion in Flash OT as the Arrow OT kept doing for quite some time now?
Is there truly no plot time left for normal human beings to have storylines in shows like this? I mean...read a comic, see that Mary Jane does have her own subplot in Spider-Man, even though she does not have powers, or might not even be related story-wise to Peter at all points.

I wish they would make Vale more like Lois, she is so damn bland.
easily Batman's worst love interest(even Barbara Gordon is better)

This has climbed to my second most anticipated show every week after Boardwalk

It's just a damn joy to watch. Makes me miss raimi's Spider-Man movies more than anything right now

I'm glad they took a different approach than arrow. Make one light hearted and the other more brooding. If they both followed the same tone I think one of the show's would bleed viewers

Not sure I like this show so far. A bit too much cheese. Some of that dialogue was downright embarrassing. Hopefully it will get better. After all Arow certainly improved tenfold compared to how it was when it first started.

Its reall;y impressive that Flash can pull those numbers considering its up against two ratings juggernauts. True it might not be the same audience but the fact that it can stand up to NCIS and The Voice is super.

Great episode. I loved how they referenced Firestorm and, indirectly, Metamorpho.

"We were all struck by lightning" is the greatest line of all time.

I hope they at least reference his metabolism in the future instead of just ignoring it.

Also, the energy bar made me think of the one that Wally endorsed in Justice League

Good follow-up episode. Got a kick outta seeing my school in the fight at the end.

So at least they're getting the dad issues stuff outta the way early. That shit with Barry saying Joe ain't his father... that shit cuts deep. It's good that they resolved it at the end. Pretty heartwarming.

Multiplex was pretty good, though that actor looks like he's on the verge of tears at all times.

I really like Danielle Panabaker as the haunted anti-Felicity. Her getting pissed was great. Cisco still comes off as too ditzy to me.

I really like Cavaunagh though, a lot. I still don't know if he's a good guy or a bad guy at the end. Is he future Barry, having gone insane cause of time travel!? Is he the Reverse Flash!? Is he something else altogether!? So mysterious, and the actor plays it quite chillingly effectively at the end.

Iris is cutting Barry deep, Jesus.

The effects were really good in this episode. Good to see they're holding up. Barry's super-speed is done really, really well. Loved him punching the shit out of all the clones at the end to catch the real Multiplex, with a single drop of sweat giving him away.

"I know you like me so I'll just flirt with my boyfriend in your office." Iris dont care.

Yeah, like holy Christ, lady.

That was fucking cool. Cast is really likeable, special effects look great, villain was fun... It's just all good for now.
Episode was even better because I had seen nothing of it compared to the pilot.

I think they're playing her as oblivious... which is a stretch, but I don't know that they've indicated she knows.

Is anyone else a little weirded out by the quasi-incest foster-sister angle? I think it's sweet when Barry explains how Joe is like his father, but then imagine the same speech explaining how Iris is like his sister and he still wants to get with her!

We outlaw incest even if both parties are sterile and can't possibly reproduce because there is a psychological element and entanglement to siblings raised together. They didn't have to write it that way... but did. As long as the show doesn't get angsty about it and keeps it light, it should be OK... but it could get really creepy.

I am now that you mention it, but before I was too busy hoping they didn't get together simply because her character is grating.

Unfortunately, I don't agree that she's oblivious. It feels like she gave him the friendzone speech and flirts with her boyfriend in front of him not to spite him, but to say specifically that she's not interested in return so he should give up.

Also, someone else mentioned it earlier, but it makes no sense that her dad doesn't want her to know that Barry is meta-human. If he thinks Barry endangers her, then he shouldn't let them be anywhere near each other. If he doesn't, then he should let Barry tell her.

You know what I'm really dreading, though? Is if the eventual revelation that Barry's the Flash is what finally pushes Iris' buttons, gets her to think he's interesting. I'm not saying it will happen, but I would hate it if they only get together because she finds his quickness fascinating.

I was worried about that as well. I'd hate that.

Pretty good stuff. Some groan-worthy moments (young Barry in the flashbacks and "We were all hit by lightning") but still really fun. Iris sure is pretty. I guess her knowing would be asking too much, but her storyline is not looking good.
