I remember reading something about that a good while back, and the summary would be something like "Porsche tried to buy VW, got into huge debt, so ironically VW bought a majority share of Porsche and now they're merging."

Doesn't really have any affect since I'm going with the presumption that all of F1-GAF are subscribed to this thread anyway ;)

But we need to improve our share of the site!

sure, Schumi is the best

to be honest, I think he did a very good job and he was unlucky so many times this last year, if it wasn't for that you wouldn't have said what you just did

I don't buy this....What made Schuey better than everyone was his force of will to win. I have not seen this in the 2 year return at all. Nor will I ever believe that Rosberg is a winner.

Hamilton showed that force of will to win in 08 and 09 to me thats why I started to like him so much.

I still think Schey will have a bad season again. I see no reason why Rosberg would be better suited to be in a Ferrari before Kobayashi.

well, Schumi still managed to end higher than Rosberg in some races. How would you explain that?
What? I never said that Schumacher was never quicker.... :/

Oh and Valencia getting axed most likely wont happen. Bernie isn't going to renegotiate because he wants money and the government cant afford to just NOT hold the race.

It doesn't seem that long ago at all since I was up at rubbish o' clock in the morning watching Chandhok take a lotus for a spin into a wall in Australia.

I wonder if this new sky channel will be covering the testing sessions. It was quite annoying having nothing but autosport timing sheets to go on last year.

The new channel doesn't launch until the start of the season. Read somewhere recently that they will be covering it on Sky Sports News though, but that will most likely be 10mins recap each day (if we're lucky). Still, it's better than nothing.

Sky Sports News will have comprehensive coverage of F1 car launches and pre season tests, Sky F1 HD channel fires up in March

Just let me know what your Paypal account is and I'll send some money over for a dump of all the Mark Webber pictures and information.

No price is too great!

I realize Kimi will be vastly overpayed but I sure hope that they aren't giving him the bank to make this comeback. He is not worth being overpayed for.

But bumping the thread means more activity and we need that to get new memebers, because everyone needs to know that we're clearly better than the rest of SportsGAF.

Is there a list somewhere of the drivers who don't have a race seat next year? I was just thinking of some of the drivers who, whilst not necessarily being great, will be missed... at least by me. From the top of my head, the first that come to mind are Petrov and (at this stage) Barrichello. Not sure why, but I took a bit of a liking to Petrov as the year progressed.

I think we can all agree that Leunam does a great job, but his clear anti-Webber status is what really lets this thread down, I think.

The title, OP, etc etc should just be about Webber. That's why this thread isn't stickied.

this is surely the worst f1 page yet.
Celebration of a Loser...
dude chokes nearly every start.
only won one race in the most superior car on the grid, furthermore ONLY finished 3rd in WDC.
'best overtaking move ever' on driver with cold tires who just came out of pits, same driver retakes the postion when tires are warmed AND another car without DRS on same lap.

He had a bad year, but he's still the most likeable person on the grid. Relax man.

And I'm not even upset. Not that I dislike any of these guys, I just dont think anybody here is a huge loss for the sport. At least not in any tragic way.

I think the 2012 lineup is one of the most exciting in F1 history.

That's true, we don't like racist assholes here on GAF.

WOW!

I find it some funny that peeps will 'miss' drivers who had their day in the sun and really didnt do anything. its like meeting DC fans at Grand Prix:
'i hope Paul turns out like David!'

no mate, i hope he doesnt

D'Ambrosio out sucks, because I'm biased.

Then again, no one cared in this shitty country in the first place.

People who only root for the best drivers are boring.

ahhhh thats not the point.
im a firm believer that everyone should get their day in the sun, but when people cry about Buemi and Alger getting the chop dont have the big picture in mind.
2 leave, 2 more enter, which ups the chance of having more exciting NEW drivers, not just guys wont go away.
