Kobayashi to Massa's seat would be great, and I think he would be an asset to Alonso as a teammate.

x2, can't say I'm pleased to see Pedro de la Rosa or Trulli back in a F1 car, give some younger guys a chance. They probably bring in alot of money for the teams but they'll just be racing the each other at the back of the pack, at least a younger can potentially move to a better team. Although Schumacher is older then both of them, he's got 7 championships under his belt.

On another note, do we know if all teams are running KERS this year? Would be good if they were, keep the whole field on the same level.

Wow lots of good stuff in F1 gaf to catch up on. I am interested in chipping in towards the cost of the site. I am all caught up in NBA and the time until the 2012 season is just flying by.

Still waiting for the announcement of tickets for the US GP.

Webs to Ferrari next year!

a more likely scenario

Ferrari need a good number 2 driver ;)

"Jenson Button was just excellent (last season)," Montezemolo is quoted by Corriere dello Sport. "Mark Webber is a good second driver, and Nico Rosberg has done well with a car that has not been competitive. It is also good to develop drivers within yourself, so while Sergio Perez is a Sauber driver, in fact he has developed in Ferrari's academy. (And) Jules Bianchi could develop further if he can test."

Human right groups urge F1 teams to boycott the Bahrain Grand Prix

"We will do a campaign for drivers and teams to boycott,"

Bahrain GP organisers say government has acted on human rights violations

"The independent report was a milestone for Bahrain and we will now work tirelessly to ensure that the race is a great success."

'Senna will race for Williams' - according to one of his backer, Brazil's richest businessman Eike Batista

And although the 28-year-old insists that for now they are just rumours, Batista is adamant it's only a matter of time before the deal is announced.

"Simple, he will race for Williams," Batista tweeted.

Okay so greaseandgears.com it is. Any graphic designers for a logo? I was thinking two G's facing each other and the outside of the Gs with notched gear marks. What's the group opinions?

Hmmmm, I *might* be meeting with Lotus Renault GP on the 17, 19 or 20th! Maybe I can ask slip some Kimi questions?

What kind of blog should we go for at first? Simple is the best at first so we have

Wordpress.com
Blogger
concrete5
modx.com
textpattern.com/

I really like the concrete5.com but I know Wordpress & Blogger have the most themes. Any experts here? I've used Wordpress & Drupal but I don't like Drupal.

Also, is this Kimi's helmet?

As far as I can tell the rumours say that McLaren and Red Bull will use these plates which heat and cool on either side when a current is applied (or produce current when heat is applied).

Haven't got to the bottom of what the use of this is yet, but cooling is the most obvious reason. It could also play into the rumours of McLaren doing something weird with their side pods (smaller rads to improve aero perhaps?), and additional cooling (to make up for the smaller rads) from these plates.

Question 5 here (http://truzonef1.wordpress.com/2012/01/05/cuestionario-de-f1-i/) is the original source it seems.

Would it be possible to use something like that to charge the kers unit reducing the need for the dragging effect it has on the rear brakes?

Kind of removes the "ker" part of it right enough, but maybe it's not explicit in the rules that it can only be charged with the flywheel and not the heat.

i'd rather think they'd use some of the kers energy for cooling the car with peltier elements allowing tighter packaging, thus better aero.

but dunno, seems still weird to me

Petrov confirmed at HRT apparently. Weird lineup.

Yes you guys are right about that being Kubica's helmet. I pulled it off Renault's Media Site. I have a meeting with a Renault GP Exec between 17th-20th (!) in Toronto.

Mercedes no longer has McLaren team stake

End of an era and the beginning of the end for McLaren.

I don't agree with you. McLaren have always been a good and an efficient team. I'm sure they'll manage

In that case I'll put his faux-pas regarding the ongoing awesomeness of Mclaren down to a recent knock to the head, or overabundance of alcohol, either works :p

Ending the partnership with Mercedes won't do anything to slow the team down. Honestly I think McLaren would've ended up with a few more titles last decade if they were partnered with a more reliable engine supplier. 2003 and 2005 were both basically lost directly due to engine failures.

Hopefully this means a possible return to Honda, especially given the new engine specs. Not that I'm expecting complete domination by a Honda-Mclaren team, but I think it's rather odd that a global motorsport has very little Japanese (and American) representation.

Or the return of Prodrive to F1, I can hear David Richards salivating from here :D

Hahaha.

Agreed. For a "World" sport and motorsport at that North America & Japan are sorely underrepresented.
