Exactly.

What if my parents took my karting when I was a kid like I wanted to? I wouldn't have been just Gaf champ, I would have been 8 times F1 world champion by now, and I'm only 25.

Seriously.

Listen kid, if you are american which I sorta assume you are.......then no you'd be a bad Indy Car driver that no one even knows the name of who won maybe once or twice :p No one likes Indy Car remember that......

The Formula 1 2012 |OT| of fingering platypusses, eating icecream and worshipping The Chin

I think that's a pretty accurate description of the thread, imo.

It's not always about fucking Raikkonen. If we're not having a Webber-based thread title with all the Webber fans in this thread, we're sure-as-shit not having a Kimi one.

I hope Kamui wins WDC if only because of his tweets.

Well your fucking wrong, I'm English. So quiet you.

do you think sky sports will make an intro video to the F1 season for the telly? just thinking about it, that kind of stuff really adds to the season when watching it on the bbc.

Non-regular thread poster, comes in here and calls you "kid", assumes you're from the US (despite the obvious top hat and monocle in your avatar, clearly indicating your heritage) and pays you out because the best you'd be is in a bottom-tier team for a sport he strongly dislikes (where most of us don't have any particular distaste for any motor racing... just look at the motorsport thread).

Bravo, good sir.

Americans can succeed in F1. Remember Michael Andretti? No no, remember Scott Speed? Oh, wait.

I expect there to be another American F1 driver by 2015. Plenty of good open wheel drivers who are young and talented. The thing is, are they going to be able to afford to buy their way onto a team with a decent car to show their talent at the highest level and then be able to land a spot on one of the top tier teams?

I would laugh so hard if Leunam with with The Formula One 2012 Season |OT|.

Papa Andretti was pretty good, but that is going back a ways now. If Canadians count then Gilles and Jacques were not bad. But yeah, long time between drinks.

Been posted?

Hamilton and Vettel suffer contrasting fortunes in Jerez

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/16973677

Hamilton's response is quite a contrast compared to what was claimed a few days ago.

That's some pretty bad spin from the BBC to be honest, using a few words from the same interview but taken out of context because all of the cars have less rear grip than last year, Vettels full comment was:

"Obviously it's more or less what we expected. There is quite a big loss in grip because of the change in regulations but you get used to it fairly quickly. So far I think we can be quite happy. We had a couple of issues that stopped us for a little while, but it's normal."

It's quite a leap to take that and state he's complaining or to find any real contrast between them in my opinion

imagine if McLaren have veto'ed the supply of Merc engines to Brawn GP?

We would've seen Hamilton get his second WDC or Vettel grab his first, Mercedes wouldn't have left McLaren, Schumacher would not have came back

Err they'd have had a Ferrari engine and still have won. The difference between the two isn't that big to have affected Brawn's utter dominance.

Needs to be something driver/team neutral.

The cars noses are hard to ignore so something related would be a good option IMO.

Alonso has been making excuses? All I've seen him doing is proving he's still probably the best driver on the grid for two years going.

Yeah sure...that's why he finished 4th last year.

Maybe i will change the title thread to

Formula 1 2012 (ot) of Alonso fan's, what will be your excuses this year?

or

Formula 1 2012 (ot) of Alonso fan's, U Y no CRY more?

Note: I'm from Barcelona, and i've been watchiing F1 all my life (i'm 29), and i've grown pretty tired of the people that just support Alonso because he's spanish and who started watching f1 because of him. He is really a great driver, but not the best.

I think you've been watching a different F1 to the one I have.

I think they are implying that without the investment from Mercedes that Brawn GP would never have competed in the championship because they would have gone bankrupt.

I'm from Australia and I'm a big Button fan, Rosberg seems like a nice guy as well.

I have a huge amount of respect for most of the drivers, but Webber or Button winning always puts the biggest smile on my face.

I don't get it.

He's spanish guys, don't mind him. There are A LOT of Alonso haters here. It's unbelievable, I know, and I've always thought it's just because of the region where he was born, but that's how it is.

He was on my ignore list already since his first post in this thread was "I'm all out for Vettel crushing Alonso again this year.", and he only has 27 posts, that must be a new record. He's clearly obsessed with Nando :p
