Alonso has been making excuses? All I've seen him doing is proving he's still probably the best driver on the grid for two years going.

vettel retired?

Either i missed something or vettel is still the best driver on the grid right now. Period!!

Never change Omiee, never change.

he clearly is ark.

i should buy a shirt with ''vettel is gone'' on it.

cant remember how many times iv read or heard something like that the past 3 seasons.

Clearly is a bit of a reach, and you know it. Vettel or Alonso could both have a convincing argument put forth, Ham and Button could throw their hat in the ring too.

i support Vettel, Glock and Kobayashi!

edit: actually Kimi, but i really can't stand Lotus

Are you "germanese"? :'D

I'm from Australia and I'm a big Button fan, Rosberg seems like a nice guy as well.

I have a huge amount of respect for most of the drivers, but Webber or Button winning always puts the biggest smile on my face.
Yeah, I usually support the nice guys such as Rosberg and Button, for example.

Do you thin that Daniel Ricciardo can become a big name in Australia for the F1 when Webber retires (I hope it does not happen anytime soon.)?

Hamilton wasn't very impressive last year, save for a few occasions, but Alonso has been on top form since Bah'Rain 2010, and again from Silverstone 2010.

Hamilton, Alonso and Vettel are the three strongest drivers on the grid, without question. Button can try to throw his hat in there this year, but he's got a ways to go before he can jump up the next step.

Wow, people really think Alonso isn't anywhere near the best. For me, the last couple of years just proved why he ranked as one of the all time greats. Before Vettel won his 2nd championship Alonso was still the benchmark in Formula 1 today. I don't see anyone else doing what he did in that Ferrari over the last two years consistently.

Alonso's and Buttons drives last year were much more impressive than Vettels driving off at the start of the race with a much faster car and doing nothing but clean laps for the rest of the race.

Have to agree 100% here, Vettel was very impressive but not driving wise, his consistency and concentration were exemplary but he certainly didn't pull off the most impressive drives last year, Button and Alonso did.

Before Alonso came to Ferrari, I questioned his ability and commitment but what he has done in 2010 and 2011 in average cars has been amazing. I just hope he gets a decent car this year...

And that's not impressive?

Maybe i have not been understanding f1 all this years, but for me it has always been about a team producing the best car and a driver trying to use it as best as he can to win races.

And Red Bull and Vettel have been amusing in this regard.

Ark, Risk breaker and all the others. Give up the hate. I haven't said Alonso is not a good driver. I've said that Vettel is better.

Sure doing clean laps for an entire race from pole is impressive, but you're not reading between the lines.

Don't get me wrong, its very impressive to see a team produce a car much faster than everyone else and have a driver consistently produce what the car is capable of.

But its far more impressive from a drivers view seeing a guy in a much slower car dragging it to podiums and race victories purely from using his driving skills.

To rule out Alonso as an argument for the best driver on the grid because he finished 4th is ridiculous. Thats like saying Button and Webber are the 2nd and 3rd best drivers on the grid because that's where they finished.

Alonso IS the best driver on the grid in my opinion, just as he was last year.

Was it Catalunya where he tore off at the start and passed both Red Bulls to gain the lead? Only to eventually succumb to a superior car.

His starts at Catalunya and Monza dont get enough credit around here.

I remember cockpit views of Alonso driving the 150th last year showing just how twitchy and unstable the car is on every corner, yet he still manage to get podium finishes last year is amazing.

I don't think Alonso is as good as people say he is. Wonderful driver and one of the best on the grid now, but he's not THE BEST

Is that opinion or fact, though? I think the fact is that when Alonso can bring a POS like last year's Ferrari to challenge and even beat the combination of RBR and Vettel, then you have a great driver. I guarantee Vettel could not have done as well in the same car.

No, of course not. With Kimi back in the race surely he's the best, right?

Vettel is.

Im sorry but vettel is the only one who comes close to how amazing shumi was in his days.

Amazing 1 lap wonder. And learns from his fault, unlike some other guys who make the same mistakes every year.

vettel cannot race. His qualifying exploits is what makes him so potent

You certainly won't see him doing what webber did in china last year

Oh, I didn't know Formula 1 did qualifying only for fun, then discarded the results and randomized the order making the best driver the one that's able to make most passes and not the guy that's able to consistently out-qualify everyone and make perfect starts and pull out gaps in a GP. In that case, Schumacher is obviously the best driver, having made most on-track passes last year. I'm all for that, btw.

this is just stupid.

Since when is it a bad thing to be a amazing qualifier and using that to win a race.

Also vettel won his first race in a mid field car.

And dont you forget vettel finished 4th in china after starting 17th, thats almost the same what webber did in a less dominating car ( a freaking torro rosso).

Meh, 4th from 17th place still doesn't compare to the drive that took Button from the last place to first in 30 laps, including five pitstops at Canada last year. Now that was an awesome achievement.

What happened to Vettel in that race? Oh yeah, he buckled under the pressure and spun on the last lap :D

A great achievement, indeed, but it doesn't really matter how many pitstops you make during a rainy race. I'm sure we all remember the Malaysia GP where Ferrari spent nearly two minutes to do ONE pitstop, but Schumacher was leading not many laps later after completely dominating the entire field.

And everyone's allowed to make mistakes, so it doesn't really say anything about who can handle anything better than anyone that Vettel made one mistake. It simply means he's still human.

There were 2 or 3 safety cars that race that obviously helped button. Also if you read my posts you would have seen i wasnt impressed by hamilton and alonso but i was with button's drive in spa, canada and hongery. Only problem with him is he is not very good on saturday's and seems to perform in changing weathers not so much in other places.

I'd rather drive perfect than have to make up my race because i messed up my start or saturday session.

Because this year we're going to have the conflicting ego's of MJ and Omiee on top of everything else, as well as any other sleeper Kimi fanboys.

Are you saying this thread wasn't fun last year?

We dealt with Omiee last year and it will be the same annoying crap this year again. Adding the Jerk to the round won't make it much worse (except for the double posts maybe). Tbh, I don't remember any other annoying Kimi fanboys.

Because this year, Schumacher will win! YEAAAH

He'll win his second retirement, yeah.

There was 2 safety cars, after the first safety car came in, Button went from 24th to.... 24th. In fact the first safety car period was so short that before the red flag Button was nearly 30 seconds behind the pack, the safety car only allowed him to close up that gap to to 2.4 seconds behind the car in 23rd place by the time the green flag was shown.

Yeah and vettel's gap's were made smaller each time.

Vettel's dominance bored me, yes, but it was your attitude that annoyed the shit out of me. Crying like a little bitch, every time someone opposes your opinion on Vettel is not cool, man. Not cool.

And....this is why the F1 thread went to shit last year. Too much squabbling.

I miss pages 21 & 22......

Nah you're fine, we still love you really <3

Were all like family here, sure, but Omiee is the little fucker no one wants to play with, because he can't behave.

But hey, at least we can all agree that Massa sucks, right?

Right?

Odd that it is you to post that picture considering it was taken straight after he rammed his teammate off the track then proceeded to act like a grad-A twat.
