The elevation changes and slow corner after the uphill gives it a better flow than other tracks.

There's a lot more flow in this track then in the examples I gave. And it has some interesting height differences.

Most drivers also seem to like it.
Yeah, it does seem to have decent flow, but the design is nothing if not...

some straights followed by hairpins and chicanes

I meant chicanes as in speed stoppers to make overtaking easier where the drivers have to shift back to 2nd gear. There are still left/right corners, but the drivers are quite fast through there.

And that turn 10/11 combination and the Turn 3 which is uphill are some interesting corners.

It suffers from Tilke syndrome of being two sectors that are straight + hairpin, then a twisty middle. Just like every other circuit he's designed. So much so, in fact, that I think you could take the last corner and put it directly onto Shanghai without anybody noticing. Still, it's one of his better designs.

The Williams and Renault both sound awful off throttle.

True, except that the twisty middle isn't shit this time.

Yeah, but it is still a case of dead straight track, into corner, then dead straight again. Except that interesting curve between the first two hairpins. I just prefer tracks with natural flow, actual esses and whatnot.

Looks like his front corner was already damaged! I laughed. And offcourse, Fuck's Sake Felipe!

-edit-

That's some F1 2011 bug right there.

Yeah, Vettel seriously smashed the fuck out of it that lap. Shit that they didn't show *any* footage of Webber during Q3, though.

Vettel unsurprisingly non-committal with his response to the last question. Love to see Webs smash it off his own back, but we'll see. Maybe they should tie some elastic band from Vettel's car to Mark's to ensure a decent start.

Lewis must feel like everybody is against him lmao

Good job to Vettel and Webber, now hopefully Mark can race an epic race and win without team orders

What was the last question?

It's a bit unfair, this season is 20 races. It used to be just 16.

yeah i knew some one had 14 poles.

so vettel has abu dhabi and brazil to secure either a tie or a new record.

no doubt he can do that

yeah but there is more competition now than back then.

There is also more races.

1992 was a really strange season. The McLaren Honda was about as dominant as the 2004 Ferrari (arguably more so), but unlike Barrichello who could occasionally put up a fight, Patrese was complete and utter garbage.

so what, red bull is in no way as dominant as they were in that year
The point is, as a percentage of the season, it would not be anew record. If they raced 100 times a year, records would drop like flies in absolute terms, but it would not really be a valid comparison.

Continuing my slog through the old season reviews... even the highlights are boring on some of these races. (Into the monster Ferrari domination years now)

I'd also forgotten how useless Raikkonen was in interviews. :D
