What?John_B said:Nürburgring 2009 : Webber
Nürburgring 2007 : Alonso
Nürburgring 2006 : Schumacher
Nürburgring 2005 : Alonso
Alonso won his championship in 2005 and not 2007. So the answer is probably the right one, but just not worded correctly.
Edit. I retract that statement - Knetemann

Shit, I looked at the wrong layout on Wikipedia. Right you are.Lach said:Unless the answer 4 is incredibly stupidly worded (the "and" in there changes the meaning totally).
Answer 2: The Nürnburgring IS 5.1 km and in 1978 Gerrie Knetemann (from the Netherlands) won the Road Cycling World Championship which was held on the Nürnburgring that year.

Agreed the forest section made Hockenheim special, it produced stunning helicopter shots of the race.
The reason there were two German GPs a few years ago was because Bernie wanted to cash in on Schumachers popularity and success during that era, the same scenario has just played out with Alonso. So, I guess its Vettel and Germanys turn next, after Valencias contract expires.RomanticHeroX said:Neither are amongst my favorites, but I actually like both the Nurburgring and Hockenheim. Great for TV audiences, but terrible for the spectators at the track, as they hardly saw the cars for a majority of the lap.anonnumber6 said:Agreed the forest section made Hockenheim special, it produced stunning helicopter shots of the race.

Id ditch them both and have the race at Aragon or Jerez.Leonsito said:Actually, Bernie would ditch Catalunya before Valencia.

The Lotus Renault GP team then still known as Renault F1 made a £40m loss in 2010, its first year under the ownership of Genii.
The teams accounts reveal that income fell dramatically last year by 49% from £162.0m to £82.1m, reflecting the lack of a title sponsor and the absence of a contribution from former owner Renault.
Its well known that the team is committed to some large loans, and the accounts give some fascinating details.
Firstly, it still owes money to Renault: The company has a loan with the Renault Group, the term of which has been extended to include repayments as follows: 2011 £6m, 2012, £6m, 2013, £8m.
Secondly there is the arrangement with Lithuanias AB Snoras Bank, whose logos have appeared on the car: The company has a loan facility with AB Snoras Bank (£15m) maturing in December 2011. This loan is secured by first ranking security interest over the rights, title and interest in some of the companys assets with an aggregate value of £24m.

If BBC had to chose between Top Gear and Formula 1, which one should be axed?
Top Gear is becoming increasingly samey, the jokes and humour are often hackneyed and the whole formula is getting quite stale. F1 on the other hand is gaining in popularity and the new rules although disappointing, might equalise the field again. We could be entering a new era of competitiveness throughout the field and an increase in entertainment levels (might be too optimistic about that). I know what I would choose.brotkasten said:Okay, so this is the real question.

Regulations for 2014 season. 77 pages. They define what automobile and land vehicle mean at the start :lol. They sure are very specific.
9.6 Gear ratios :
9.6.1 The number of forward gear ratios must be 8.
9.6.2 Each competitor must nominate the forward gear ratios (calculated from engine crankshaft to
drive shafts) to be employed within their gearbox. These nominations must be declared to the
FIA technical delegate at or before the first Event of the Championship. For 2014 only, a
competitor may re-nominate these ratios once within the Championship season, in which case
the original nomination becomes immediately void. Ratio re-nominations must be declared as
a set and may only be effected by the substitution of change gears.
...
9.7 Reverse gear :
All cars must be able to be driven in reverse by the driver at any time during the Event.
That's still not acceptable for a sport like F1.kharma45 said:Could they not do it with say pop-up adverts, or ones that scroll along the bottom or something?
I remember watching F1 abroad last year in Ibiza (I think it was on a German channel) and when they went to adverts 3/4 of the screen was the advert whilst the other quarter was the race so you could keep an eye on it.
