One section of the track could always be used to charge the cars via induction! You can drive quickly through this part, but you won't get as much charge... if you slow down you can get more go juice and power through that section later on.Dynoro said:Isn't that a little....short. I like the idea for city courses though.
Awesome. In a future TV digital age I hope you will be able to choose different onboard feeds. It looks much more intense from the cockpit than from the helicopter view.Goldrusher said:http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=bS7ZFvOWvT8
Schumacher's first lap on-board. Amazing footage.
Indeed, in fact my current project is based on the idea that Formula 1 will be forced to go all-electric, and the popularity of the sport will diminish due to the dull sounds and uninteresting power delivery of the electric motor.Aegus said:Electric cars means one step closer to the Wipeout style future right?

No chance of Audi joining F1 any time soon. Yeah they are about to get a lot more competition in LMPs, plus they're selling every car they can make pretty much so no need for extra advertising from F1.

No Turkey and a five week summer break.
Indeed.Juicy Bob said:Five weeks is perfect for an F1-GAF (GAF1?) summer F1 2011 Championship.
They didn't replace Turkey with another track?Edmond Dantès said:2012 calendar confirmed.

rhfb said:Sucks for people who booked Austin stuff before the calendar was finalized. That date is much better anyways because the track should be finished for sure by then, and the weather will be much better.
Now that the date is set in stone, time to REALLY look at getting a good hotel room for under $200 a night before the prices are jacked up to 3x/4x that. Also need to watch and see when race tickets are going to be on sale. Before I was almost looking at staying around San Antonio and just driving to the track instead of paying insane hotel prices.
Thing is, most online booking sites only let you look 330 days into the future. So you would have to look at booking around Christmas time. By then, most who already had inflated their prices for the race weekend will know about the date switch and will have pumped their prices up for that whole week.SCHUEY F1 said:My wife and I are thinking of going. If so your right that it is probably a good idea to look at hotels soon.
Man, it'd be awesome if Austin did something like that.Xun said:Speaking of Silverstone I didn't realise they did this.

I'll have to give it a try in the future...

Ark said:F1 cars don't actually have a brake 'pedal' as such. It's more of a level that you push down with your foot, when the lever is pushed far enough, the brake activates at full pressure depending on where the brake bias is set to.
