Hence the cringe worthy speeches over the radio after his wins in Oz & Malaysia this year.
Nah, you know the real reason for that right?

He was really, really embarrassed that he sounded like a little girl when he won the WDC. Ever since then it's been the whole "ultra composed statesman" style crap.

We have all free practice online on national TV site, by only for our country IPs
Commentator is Miran Ališič (good friend of Bernie, so RTV got F1 license cheaper), who is well known for:
- his screaming (UUUUuuuuuuUUUUUUUUu)* when something is happening on track.
- he loves rain (Rain! Rain! Wohoooo)
- drivers pour gasoline after the race and not champagne
- he can be heard on other TV stations (clearly in the background)
- his style in commentator box is very special
- etc etc :D

Translation:
* : Kovalainen leaving the pit...UUUUUUUU, LOOK, FIREEEEE, start-finish line is on fire
U....UUUUUUUUUUUUU.... LOOK, Kazuki Nakajima is FLYING
Reminds me of these guys.

Could be worse though, it could be James Allen (He's a great journalist though).

I cant take the commercials on speed, espesially when i'm watching my fantasy team stuff, they aren't going to show the toro roso hot lap when then can go to a commercial and broadcast the big teams flying laps.

It also seems different when the commentators are in a booth in California calling the race and not really there, Buxton is the only one they fly to the races.

When I first started watching F1 in 2008 martins grid walks really caught my attention because it was odd to see sporting competitors chatting with the media 10 minutes before a race. It also creates some really funny moments( "Pele was giving Micheal a trophy just now at the front of the grid where were you?" "I was taking a shit") and its neat to see the celebrities and kings/princes just walking around. Speed is on the grid, but they are no martin.

I also really like the red button forum, so many great interviews and different perspectives. I think last year speed had a recap show each week and they don't show that anymore, they also played inside gran prix, and thats gone, but that doesnt show up in my other place either so it might not be made anymore.

Another plus for the bbc coverage: iplayer!

Although for me this starts at 8am, so not too bad. It's nice being able to catch up later if I can't be bothered getting up, though.

Looking forward to seeing the new virgin car, the president of virgin here is making it sound interesting.

For his attitude? You mean the attitude where he refused to take any blame whatsoever for him turning into Webber last year?
Nope.

7.2g for Vettel when he made first impact with the armco.. Well it's a good thing they have HANS because that creates a helluva shear force.

Well, that blew.

WHAT ARE YOU DOING
Honestly, though, what were they going to learn? That Turn 11 sucks in the rain and that you'll hydroplane off like most everyone? Did Schumi ever make it around that corner without spinning into the weeds?

To be fair to Schumacher, he did a better job of running that kerb after turn.. 8? 9 maybe, than Vettel did.

Second session starting.

BBC Sport's Sarah Holt
"I've been down to Red Bull and it looks as if Sebastian Vettel, who crashed heavily in first practice at the daunting Turn Eight, will not be able to take part in this afternoon's second session. Red Bull say they are trying to get his badly damaged car ready but they don't expect to be able to manage it. And the eagle-eyed Lee McKenzie has spotted Vettel walking around in jeans."

Looks like the Mclarens are setting the pace but no vettel so I just dont know, looking a webber to see what the RBs can do

I want to hear about the sauber tirewear after this practice.
Hopefully they can have pace and only require 3 stops.
Therefore putting superKK in a podium shot.
