'The Last of Us: Remastered' coming to PS4, July 2014, [1080p, targeting 60 fps]

Killthee

helped a brotha out on multiple separate occasions!
will i get my 10$ back if the official price is $50? i pre-ordered the game on the PSN since it was available there @$60
If it's the MSRP then they'll probably lower the price and give everyone who purchased it $10 back.

A bit OT, but I really don't understand why they're handling NA preorders as prepurchases with no refunds when the EU stores offers preorder cancellations and they don't charge till the day of release.

I preordered it for $60 just a week ago at Gstop.....

Do I get my money back? I'll call later.
If it's the MSRP then yeah you should be good. They won't charge you $60 for something they're selling at $50.

man, it would be sweet if the game is $50. and i bought the game with psn codes so they would have to charge you right away if you want to buy more than one in a single transaction.

i think they reduced the money you can have in your wallet to 100$ just recently because i cant put more than 3x$50 PSN codes at once

Everyone has jumped on it. Its #1 on US amazon right now [it was #5 few hours ago]

TLOU is a massive franchise. Its probably at 7 million+ on PS3 alone.

Its actually more popular than Uncharted.

Uncharted franchise has sold way more.

You probably wanted to say that TLOU has sold better than any individual Uncharted game. I dont think that is true yet, but with PS4 sales, it will happen.

What? No it's not.
As of March the last of us has sold around 6 million, The uncharted franchise(4 games) has sold a combine 17 million as of 2012(It's most likely around 18-19 million now). But I think he is right about it being more popular, when all is said and done The last of us is looking at an LTD of around 8-9 million, more than any Uncharted game I believe.

Crap, I had some extra points so I preordered this on PSN a few weeks back. My own fault for committing that far ahead, I guess...

yes, playing the mp @ 1080p 60 FPS with clean iq is going to be amazing

the mp in this game is very very good

That's an understatement, this MP is almost perfect
opinion, of course.
the seamless integration of the single player feels is amazing. Communication is key, one person alone can have a really good game but even that won't guarantee a win.

I've put nearly 200 hours into the MP and I still enjoy every time I play it.

TLOU MP is so underrated among Third Person Shooter fans and probably because it was always marketed heavily as a single player game rightfully so in it's own right. Hopefully this time it picks up even more on the MP side of things.

Agreed, same here, and agreed.

The Last of Us multiplayer is incredible. I've never played anything like it. I just hope the new MP DLC doesn't ruin the already excellent game balance.

Honestly, I'm surprised there isn't more of a competitive community behind the game. I realize competitive gamers hate any element of randomness in their games but I would have thought the impact of randomized material drops would be mostly negated when averaged out over several matches.

£37 on uk amazon. I was thinking of buying but want to know if the EU version is censored again. Otherwise I will buy the US version.

So has it been confirmed that $50 is the official MSRP now? I preordered from Amazon a few minutes ago, but I'd rather go digital or just buy it from another retailer so I don't have to stalk the UPS guy all day.

How did Uncharted 2 and 3 sell?

I think they are in the same ballpark as TLOU.

We dont have official numbers for them, but it is rumored that they have both passed 6 million units, although after much longer time on market than TLOU and lots of pricedrops [something TLOU did not have, its price was held to be very high].

TLOU has healthy chance to surpass 10 million units after PS4 Remaster comes and few years passes.

While TLoU was certainly fairly zeitgeist, and it had much longer in development than an UC, I think its success is the perfect evidence that it's the people, not the brand that matter.

People will often cite UC sales as evidence that Sony would never shelve the franchise, but ND have proven their value to deliver big sellers consistently, with or without the franchises.

I hope UC4 is the end and they get back to something in TLoU's world for the follow up. And if they do, I hope Sony keeps the UC name untouched until ND want to revisit it.

Just preordered on Amazon. I might end up cancelling it since I was planning on going strictly digital for first party titles, especially one with a great multiplayer that I could end up playing often. So hyped to play through this for the first time!

I'd be in the dick
Kurt Margenau on Twitter: "Played some #TLOU at 60 fps tonight for the first time (60fps cutscenes and all). Transformitive. I'm a believer. Don't think I can go back."

For those who don't know, Margenau designed the falling building shootout in Uncharted 2 (I think he did the train too, can't remember), the desert in Uncharted 3, the prologue in TLoU, and is the lead gameplay designer for Uncharted 4.

The Last of Us is a game that deserves to sit on my shelf (again). Definitely going physical.
Putting the PS4 disk in the steelbook I got from the Survival Edition. My own ultimate edition that will forever be on my shelf.

Are you sure? showmethereceipts.gif

On a different note, I hope this one shares trophy lists with the PS3 one so I can finish up the rest of the trophies on the PS4 version.

EDIT: NVM just saw the posts above. I saw the receipts!

Well what they showed at E3 sure makes it sound like it'll be the last one. At the very least, the last one for ND. I could see them handing it off to some other devs kinda like how LBP3 is now in Sumo's hands and the last Sly was made by that other dev.

The last of us did really well both critically and commercially. I'm satisfied with just the first game, but I think it is more likely that sony and ND will conjure another one because that would sell. Of course I would be overjoyed if ND brings a completely new IP out of the left field like TLoU when it was announced.

I only beat TLOU once on hard, overall i loved the game! But some of the friendly AI glitches totally broke the immersion. Ellie kept running into clickers and they didn't touch her at all...was this fixed later on?

Will it be fixed in the remaster? I hope so!

I also think it'll be the last one but I don't think it will go to anyone else any time soon, if it does at all. Aside from the two you mentioned, Sony usually leaves the decisions to continue franchises to the studios that made them unless it's a portable spin off.

They talked about that before release. If enemies could see the NPCs while you were sneaking around it would ruin stealth gameplay.
