The Legend of Korra: Book 4 |OT2| ALL HAIL THE GREAT UNITER

Yea i think the name pronunciation stuff was on him lol and if true about what i said he could have basically fucking left the production instead of going in "dont give a fuck, gimme my money" mode.

Well Nick seemed to care since the green lighted it plus it was supposedly already planned as a trilogy with the other books in tow. But given how they treated Korra i wouldn't be surprised if that tune changed somewhere along the way lol.
They probably stopped giving a shit once they saw Appa.

Shyamalan probably thought this was accurate to his species or something. No animal that likes life looks like this.

Given his filmography I'm willing a apportion some of the fuck ups to Shyamalan. Nick probably just didn't care enough to make sure the movie turned out well.

Nick don't care period. Even though during that time they probably sortof care, albeit mostly because of the momentum of ATLA season 1 and 2. Heard that season 3 faced some bullshit, but it went alight.

I wonder what happened to that Nick executive in the early 2000's that shot down Bryke's initial pitch of a 12 episode series to "Fuck that noise, make it 20-22 episodes and more than one season."

That was back when men were men or whatever the fuck. Probably knew about good storytelling and didn't want Bryke to half ass it. That and you could sell more commercial time to the show with 22 episodes. New exec was probably like "female protag? I can't make an action figure out of that! You got 13 eps to make your case."

If you cared enough you wouldn't watch it on their dog shit site. I've still only watched one Korra ep on their site. More ghosting than Ghostbusters.

Yeah, their video player is garbage and I won't watch the series on their site anyway, but I'm just shocked that they put all the episodes back on there when I thought they had washed their hands of the series.

Guys, this may sound crazy, but I have new found hope that there may actually be a chance of us getting more Avatar.

BELIEVE!

"Now you can see three times as much Korra because that's how bad our video player is."

She at least had more swag than Korra till she got nerfed for the finale.

She had more swag than a Korra that was suffering from mercury poisoning for three years and had only recently gotten it all out of her system. Kuvira is good, but would be a losing bet against a fully recovered Korra, even with no Avatar state.

I always figured Kuvira would either beat or at least not get trashed by a non avatar state Korra at her best because Kuvira fought with her head more. Though Korra could take more punishment than her so Kuvira would still lose in endurance. Kuvira had a really good technique and creativity, she's just not a heavy hitter. Metal bending is more of a precision style and less massive damage. KInd of felt weird that she really didn't earth bend much. She used it yes, but mainly to redirect something thrown at her or to shatter something if it was used as a barrier.

IIRC RWBY was a series that would be suggested around here (i think Veelk in particular?) so just to update, the creator of that series has passed away :(

And if you don't know the creator maybe you have seen his other works such as Haloid and the Dead Fantasy series.

RIP Man

Christ, I heard he was hospitalized, but I thought almost for sure that he'll make it. Though now that it was confirmed it was an allergic reaction to premedications... doubtful anyone can survive that. Really sad that he's gone, one of the last fighters for Western animated action serials.

Yea i heard the hospitalization as well but the tone of the message made me think too much in the other direction, especially the line where it said that they were not sure he would make it (i.e it sounds really fucking serious). :(

I still had hope but...

Sad to hear it happened and what caused it too :(

It's sounds good now, but this is Nickelodeon we're talking about. They're not going to give it 3 seasons before the budget cuts start. The next series is going to start out pristine, like a lot of money went into it. Then on episode 3 it will be just a picture of Opal dancing to "Iaintgotnotype"

Perfect song choice for the last season because they practically shat it out. Oh. I read that as I ain't got no hype.

I would go with 'not get owned'. It would be an freaking great fight, (as we saw a little bit in the finale where I would argue that Kuvira had a bit of a home field advantage), but Korra is such a powerhouse that, like you say, Korra would win out overtime if only because of endurance (and being able to use every element to mix things up, she was pretty limited by her surroundings in the finale fight).

The finale really (and this season in general) made me appreciate Metal Bending so much. In Season 1 it was really cool, obviously, but seemed to be mainly defined by the Spider-Man tethers. By the end of the series it is such a flexible (given the right surroundings), fast, and potentially lethal form of bending, it was a treat to watch. In fact Metal Bender versus Metal Bender might just be my favorite matchup now.

The perfect example

Oh, they still shat out the song regardless. lol

I think that's why kuvira had that armor made. She wanted to make sure she could utilize her style wherever she went. She was precise but she wasn't Uber powerful. She augmented her metal bending and maneuverability in a way to make it seem like she had all the elements though.

I get the feeling that I will appreciate Kuvira much more (as a villain) the next time I rewatch the series. She really was just missing a couple good scenes of exposition about why she did what she did (well, minus the 're-education' camps and such). It could have also served as moments to better drive home that beneath all the calm demeanor, she was going war wacky with power and responsibility that she was not emotionally able to deal with.

The Colossus was cool. Day of the Colossus is still one of the coolest episodes. Despite having that episode and Operation Beifong, Balance is still my least favorite season between both shows.

I like most of the show. Book 3 is just my favorite with 3 and 1 a bit tied. They both have issues. Book 4 needed more action scenes to help with the pacing. You knew by ep 4 that the red lotus shouldn't be fucked with. You never got that same feeling with Kuvira.

Kuvira doesn't even seem powerful until she gets the collusus way at the end. That's a flaw with the writing IMO. You knew Amon wasn't to be fucked with by episode 3 too.

Anyway, Nick acknowledging the existence of Korra??

I think they're trolling Bryke. Watch them do a rebroadcast on the holy Saturday morning time slot now that they're gone.

Ok, after SystemBug's great recommendation that I watch Barakamon.... I need a new anime to watch.

Has to be on either Netflix, Hulu, or Crunchyroll... and available in the United States.

Do you have a type you're looking for? I hate giving recommendations without any idea of what to recommend.

Hmm.... maybe a nice slice of life comedy (similar to Barakamon) or something like Angel Beats (a mix of action/comedy... with fun characters)

Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, School Rumble, and Dokkoida! are what I'd recommend. Of course, I'm only basing that off of anime I've seen.

I've seen it

I've seen that too

Go watch Rahxephon. It's on amazon prime. Also see if you can find Moribito Guardian of the Spirit. Now that's a strong female character.

Sounds like an issue on your end, "ghosting" isn't something indicative of streaming flash video and obviously the encode wouldn't be the culprit.

I usually have a pretty good connection and have streamed for years. Usually not ghosting. I think somebody on here said that the site played the 60Fps episodes at 30 fps. I was told it was fixed but there are better sites to watch the show on. If my porn doesn't ghost then why should the show?

Nick used to have some pretty severe ghosting issues for the korra episodes on it's site till they finally fixed it at some point during book 4
I''ll post some examples when I get back home

Well... ain't this a bitch....

Top 5 Korrasami moments

....from Nickelodeon....

Huh that's neat I guess and nice to see they also put all the Korra episodes back up. Though to make the 10th anniversary even better they should announce the release of the Korra and ATLA soundtracks pretty please.

And announce a Legend of Korra comic series similar to the treatment that The Last Avatar has gotten. Pretty please!

Example of ghosting from Nick site during Book 3

That would be neat and I wouldn't mind a Red Lotus spin off comic also

ScrewAttack put out the preview of the upcoming Toph/Gaara encounter a few days ago. Looks like they are going with Kazekage Gaara rather than the younger version.
