I liked Jak 1 and 3 back in the day, never played 2 though.
2 is honestly the best in the franchise!

well I can't judge. My friend never let me borrow it as a kid because he didn't want me beating more Jak games than him lol (I beat 1 when he couldn't, he beat 3 when I couldn't, he couldn't beat 2)

Platinum is still on my backlog. Well I don't own their games, so it's not like actually a backlog... I think.
That game, MGR, DMC, and Ninja Gaiden always looked cool as hell to me and I used to literally binge on some of their demos. Almost surreal how stylish they manage to be. Really wierd that I haven't bought any of them yet.

Thinking about actually owning those games just feels surreal to me tbh considering I've been so used to marveling at how cool they look from videos and how at good their demos were. This stared with DMC and NG like, 8 years ago when I was in middle school, then the MGR demo came out a bit over a year ago and I played that a lot. I'd always watch stylish videos for Vanquish and the rest of them.
I always figured if I was ever burnt out on games, I'd go and pick some of those up as a fallback if i haven't already lol

Platinum is my perfect developer. Every (and I mean every) game I have ever played by them (which is every game) has always delivered an amazing and memorable experience.
The day I play a Platinum game and say "This is not a good game" is going to be one of the worst days of my life.

They are basically an arse-looking game(s) with directional combat. I think I spent only a couple hundred hours on singleplayer/mods before spending ~2000 hours on the multiplayer/mods. Those hours pretty much cemented my preference for games with historical settings. From the Viking Age to WW1. Hell even the War of 1870 was a thing for awhile in that small multiplayer community. Of course there were silly stuff like pseduo-MMO mods and the like. Heh, despite a lot these recordings were published a year ago or so, I feel oddly nostalgic. Mainly because I came into the multiplayer scene in its twilight days, it's mostly dead now.. The game is more than four years old after all and its mainly known for its singleplayer. C'est la vie.

Only you me and probably two other people here actually play Platinum Games man. I believe I own most if not all except for Viewtiful Joe 2 and Anarchy Reigns.

I actually think that was Platinums B team to be honest. It just didn't look appealing which is why I don't have it.
It's not even Anarchy Reigns which suffers from this, even Bayonetta does. It's like brown + colors, which is a terrible combination imo. MGSR:R was also ugly.
They need a better environmental art director or just somebody who's better at post-processing color better.

Oh ok, I get what you mean now. Yeah oddly it's something they really don't pay attention to. I guess the Okami guy found a job that wasn't with them or something. Luckily Bayonetta 2 has more color to it. It at least sort of made sense with MGR, but most of their games are not that great looking. They're serviceable, but that's about it.
