The Matrix Online Delayed Further into 2005 (Woah!)

"The fact of the matter is the game is not ready and we want to take a little more time." With those words, a sober Jason Hall, senior vice president of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment informed GameSpot that the massively multi-player online role-playing game built around the Matrix universe had been delayed."

"Most recently slated to release on January 18, 2005, the title will now launch sometime in the spring of 2005, according to Hall. How will WBIE use the extra time? Not only will the Monolith development team continue to work of the game (the beta remains ongoing, Hall confirmed), but according to Hall, "we're going to invest further in The Matrix Online community and provide more events"

Surprised? Not one bit.

Personally instead of an online game I'd rather see the story continue in a book series.

Finally some good news

First off, i'm far too involved with WoW right now to even consider another MMO. Second , I did get to play a bit of the beta and yeah, "not ready" describes this game with frightenting accuracy.

TMO's design has serious potential though, so I hope they can pull it together.

why do I get a feeling this is going to be canned and wind up in "Mobile Ave"

"Mobil," not "Mobile," as it's an anagram for LIMBO. Isn't that deep? Perhaps you should go relisten to the Ultimate Matrix set's philosopher commentary.

I just got in the beta also and I'm also too involved with WoW to waste time on something thats not quite ready. It's wierd though, SWG was relased not quite ready, CoH was realased before they finished putting in the stuff they wanted (many times they said that Issuse 2 was how they wanted the game to be released with Capes and crap), yet the matrix gets a delay...hmmm
