Mine doesn't even say "Payment Received." And that tracking number seems bogus. None of the numbers in my order history are found in any database, USPS or UPS. This is why I stopped using NCSX... I continue to be disappoint.

They posted about not having the correct boxes to handle the SLE and that the preprinted tracking labels are wrong and will be changed. Some orders going today with the bulk on Monday once the new boxes arrive.

Hmm, looks like the RE disc uses different art altogether.
I wonder why so many do that. Do NA or EU games come with monochrome discs? It always seems to be JP ones. If, theoretically, all discs are pressed at the same plant, then wouldn't be it actually be more expensive to not have color? The line has to make a special run just for your comparatively small number of discs, though I suppose color ink still outweighs that? I've seen color paper prints that were x24 the cost of B&W, but it seems nobody would do color discs if the difference were that great.

Monochrome disc art needs to die. That looks like a pile of PSX bootlegs I used to own in high school.

There used to be a shop in mid-town NYC back in the late 90s where I got all my import games. Got a ton of Hong Kong action flicks there too, all subtitled on off-the shelf VHS tapes. Eventually they got into the business of selling bootlegged games. I left in 2000, came back to visit a year later and the store was gone. I'll always wonder if they got shut down for the gall of trying to run a bootleg game store a block or so away from Times Square. Cool dudes though.
Well black is a color in color printing if you think about it (it's the K in CMYK after all), I doubt it'd have to be a special run. It'd be a run without the other colors being used, or all used lightly in the case of some grayscales I guess.
That makes it seem a lot cooler.

I think I know the store you're talking about. I used to walk by it on my lunch break. Did they had a big ass Hard Boiled poster in the window?
I used to get all my bootlegs from Chinataown. We used to hit up Elizabeth Center almost everyday after school. We'd check out the new imports in the legit shop in the basement, then go upstairs to buy the bootleg. I'm not proud of that, but as a poor high school kid, you had to do what you had to do.
Haha, that sounds right. Games -n- James was the name. Cool place. One of the stores that used to advertise in EGM was right around the corner from them, no shady stuff there though.

I got my SDOJ today (regular edition). The port menus are the same as the MMP/PS double pack, even the replay menu (fast forward, etc) is the same. You can't enter any initials. Disappointing. You can turn off the voices in any mode including Arrange. If you adjust the screen size in Arrange the side faces and whatnot disappear, replaced with the wallpaper of your choice. I really like the shop system and the gallery. Nice added touches their earlier ports should have had.
The Arcade HD mode and Ver 1.5 modes are quite challenging, though Novice is as easy as usual (I 1CC'd it with C-Laser on my first try). Arrange is neat, but so far, just a nice diversion in my eyes (typical for Arrange modes).

I ordered the LE from N-Y yesterday, and have bought plenty from them in the past. Great store.
I can not wait to play! After watching StarCreator's stream yesterday I can tell I'm going to really like it. I liked DFK but ultimately found it too difficult. I also had no problem with chattering on that mode. One of them even says "bomba." And full-screen 16:9 ending images (!)
Mushi HD got its own thread. SDOJ OT should be more active. Just need to put region-free in the titles. And just the stand-alone copy is fairly reasonable...just a little bit more than a normal domestic release. And as a somewhat swan-song this release seems to be crazily packed with modes.

I can't imagine having pride to the degree that you're unwilling to play a mode in a video game because it's labelled "novice" when the experience would allow you to learn and enjoy the game better.
It came up in the shooter thread from earlier today though, so apparently that really does bother some people enough to ignore a game entirely. Bizarre.
An OT for SDOJ would be fun. I typically fire up a CAVE game at least once a week, but active threads are always great to encourage more frequent playing.

It's hard to get into people's heads about the stigma thing. No one is going to know they are playing novice and send them evil messages. The costume change system lets you learn at your own pace. I have no shame in saying that regular arcade may be too hard for me to 1CC and that novice is already a really fun challenge. When I can 1CC the hardest novice mode it will be time to turn to arcade.
Have I said so good yet? So good. And it's just gorgeous. They've topped the overall presentation standard they set in Mushi HD.

I don't know what's with people and easy modes either. Since the 8 bit era I remember using every tool/exploit available (Game Genies were a no no, though) to make the games easier. Using 30 lives didn't stop me from becoming good enough at Contra or Life Force to finish them without dying. I always use easier modes for practice and claw my way up from there.
Oh man do I love that mode. That is the true hidden gem in the Cave 360 catalog. Forget 1cc, it is all about 1-lifing it.

Yeah, you were definitely right about that mode. Surprisingly fun. Way more so than I would've expected. And I'd already 1cced the regular game, so it was a nice chaser to that adrenaline high.
Went with AmiAmi again, and since I picked air mail shipping, I'll have to wait for a week or two. I don't mind though, since it gives me more time to spend with my backlog.
