The Mortal Kombat Spoilers Thread of ... spoilers in a fighting game?

Mileena's first alternate outfit is her outfit from MK Deception...with one slight alteration. She's wearing a black g-string now. :lol
 
I guess a pretty big reward for beating the challenge tower would be selectable boss characters.

Also, LMAO at Shao Kahn's "It's official, you SUCK!"
 
Whatever ends up happening with this game in the long run, it is definitely setting a new bar for storytelling in a fighting game.
 
The presentation of the story in this game is incredible. I'm in awe that they put so much into the story mode of a fighting game.
 
Been watching the stream for over an hour now. Wow, I'm pretty impressed by the story mode, the production value seem quite high and the voices are pretty darn good I must say. The only other story mode I finished was Tekken 6 so this easily wins. :P

Hahahaha oh my god! Babalities are back. I had a hunch, but now we're sure. I don't particularly 'like' them or something, but I guess it's funny seeing that they are back in.

Edit: just saw Stryker's and Shang's fatality. I think they are really great. They have some sick kind of coldness to them. Awesome!
 
second fatalities popping up.

still lots of dismemberments and explosions which is disappointing...
no acid bath for reptile makes me sad..... maybe there is a third.

for some reason im not the biggest fan of the cyborg human alts... i liked the mystery about them. reveal them in endings only and stuff. it seems people like them as alts though :P i guess there is not much variation you can do otherwise. id prefer some kind of hybrid that reveals the human underneath. :P
 
That second Kabal fatality is MUCH better than the first! In fact, most of the fatalities in the first compilation video were boring, repetitive or stupidly doesn't make sense (e.g. Sonya). Now that this Kabal fatality (and sheeva & sindal) has restored more faith with the fatalities, I'm really anxious to see everyone's second fatalities. Especially Sub Zeros.

Don't disappoint me, Netherealm Studios. The fan SMOKE melting fatalities incredibly surpasses your official one three times over.

Hmm... I guess I should really say "half" the fatalities rather than "most" of them. I really like the Nood Sailbot "pull apart" fatalities. THat was sick! Though I'm still nervous to see the rest because I believe that every fatality should be increable and not simply "put there for the sake of it".
 
I'm staying away from these videos because they trivialize fatalities. Remember the impact they had back when people had to actually find them? You would go into an arcade to play a little MK2, and in the span of a half-hour you would see people do things you had never seen before. Then, of course, you would immediately ask them how they did it.

Just watching a video of someone who got the game early doing all of the fatalities in quick succession completely dulls the experience. I'm telling you, the Mortal Kombat series was hit harder than any other popular franchise by the Internet's growth. Not only is is impossible to keep a secret anymore, but it's impossible to even keep a secret from leaking before the game fucking releases.

So, like many others, I am trying to fight temptation and go on a self-imposed blackout. The only things that I might occasional look at are pictures/videos of alt costumes.
 
I always hated Cyrax is the previous Mk games, but I am digging his human alt a lot, also he has some nice combos.
On the other hand I rather Sektor in robot form.

I love his design in this game. I also love Smoke's alt! Fuuuuck I want this game.

My girlfriend has been playing the demo with me...I'm not going to tell her about Babalities until I preform one on her. Can't wait.
 
Maybe this is a stupid question but... can you turn off the fatalities and x-rays? Kombat Kode perhaps? Mortal Kombat has loads of characters and stuff that's potentially interesting but I frankly get sick of the carnage.
 
Have we seen Noob's alt yet?

Do we know if the bosses are playable yet?

Are there Friendships, Animalaties or something new, or are there only Fatalities and Babalities?
