If Nintendo ever made a MOBA, which I don't think they would, it would be completely different to anything else out there. Pikmin's a good example of their take on an rts but I don't see them branching out to MOBA's any time soon.
 
There's too much buzz around. Even from people who usually don't try to hype things. And everybody seems to agree with Emily's statements. Something is definitely happening this week.
 
Like, i don´t even need the reveal itself, just the date for it, would fulfill me already.

Also i´m gonna get so drunk for the reveal, i´m gonna make it a day.

No it isn't. It is possible we only get a PR with console name and a "full reveal in a January Direct and various events" during the investors briefing without footage.

I don't think so. From one of their few US studios, I believe they will keep it for E3.

This idea of calling it NES, or hark back to it, has been around for a while and I have no idea why. The system wasn't even called the NES in Japan.

This might as well be NX's big pre-release E3. I'm expecting some goodies, and 3D Mario is off the table so there's gotta be something.
 
Either way we should hear something this month. Even if it's "wait until next year for more information" at the investor's meeting that will be better than nothing so we can all stop thinking about it for a while.

OMG :O

I wake up expecting to see my thread closed but now it has morphed into a NX hype machine of death.

I am really amazed the thread survived through so many stages, here its history:

.- Thread whiners
.- On-topic entries and results
.- Emily tweeted, chaos ensues
.- others sorta confirmed, hype train unavoidable, thread is going to crash and burn but
.- Mods are sick and tired of closing threads, decide to make it the NX-fanxiety dump thread

I am cool with it, lol.

it's probably the time to have a thread like this though cause we have no info, but there's something happening so here we are.

Each Nintendo console release I've seen since the Wii, or even maybe the Gamecube there has been the "they will simply call it NES again" dumb idea poping around.

The first tweet was clear to me he was just saying "there might be news so I might not have free time". It was clear he was planning his worktime like usual, independently of something he might know about Nintendo or someone else...
 
Every morning I check GAF for news. Every morning I am disappointed. But I truly believe that this is the weekend where it will happen.

Tomorrow is the anniversary of the death of Jonathan Swift. So no.
Thursday is the E shop update with spooky deals. So no.
Friday is already saturday in Japan so no
Saturday not a good day to make an annoucement, so no

Then next monday is the anniversary of the 1929 black thursday. Not a good omen, if you want my opinion. So no
then tuesday they'll be busy preparing the investor meeting, which will be about past quarter, not next one. So no
Wednesday, investor meeting, see above. So no

Then november, begining of shopping season and release of Pokemon. Nope

Come on. You think RED DEAD teaser would influence a nintendo hardware reveal? Seriously? A game that won't be seen anywhere near Nintendo?

I hope they drop it on the day of the Presidential election, just to throw people, with the tagline "Make Nintendo Great Again".
 
R* didnt care about WiiU and 3DS, can't see why they would start caring now, and if I remember correctly the Wii and DS games were moneyhatted by Nintendo.

No silly. Nintendo is a big company, they know the consequences, they wouldn't risk a backfire. It's happening, even if they didnt plant to announce it this week there's nothing they can do now.

This is also true, Nintendo takes my feelings very seriously, so they can't life my hopes only to dash them again. Even if they weren't the ones dropping the hints.

I'm pretty sure with most directs it's normally confirmed last in Japan. So we shouldn't worry and besides we've still got the rest of the week. There's no hard and fast rule it has to be a Tuesday right?
 
It's Tuesday morning and apparently the timeline for something happening "this week" is already over in the eyes of some lol
 
Even if it's 8PM in Japan, Nintendo does not give announcements till 2-4PM CET. Be pacient people!!

I don't think they will reveal the price these days. Probably in January, sure in February.
