The new DMC3 logo looks like a butt and the manual is in b&w. Goddamnit.

Been wondering since the US difficulty issues were reported actually. Thanks a ton for clarifying. Bit dodgy that normal will be less of a challenge than the Japanese ver. though!TTP said:Dunno if it's common knwoledge and I'm not going to read the whole thread to figure it out but PAL fella may be happy to know that the European version of DMC3 will retain the "free" continue system of the Japanese version (no need to buy yellow orbs) and that the Normal setting will be less difficult than the same setting in the Japanese version.

I'd say DMC3 Easy mode is equal to DMC2's hard mode so far , whereas normal mode is harder then DMC1's hard mode or even Ninja Gaiden.
And just to clarify the whole saving issue , special thanks to Kakusha-
In the north american version you can buy yellow orbs that when used will send you back to the last checkpoint, usually the room right before the boss battle. If you don't buy and use a yellow orb you can choose to start the entire fucking stage over again and repeat every fight .. again and get all those wicked combos again... and further destroy your wrists and fingers mashing buttons. IN the japanese version Yellow orbs were like Ninja Gaidens ressurection potions, when you died you would come back to life at that exact minute, with the bosses health left untouched , and everything just continueing from that point. The big difference though, is that the way the north american versions' yellow orbs work is just a continue in the import copy, and you can do it an unlimited number of times.
I can say having played both normal and easy that even the american easy mode does not have unlimited quick continues or ressurection yellow orbs. The difference is that enemies do half the damage to you, and you do double the damage to them , also the combo bar fills up in roughly 1 3rd the time as normal mode and drains slower. If you are a true weaksaucer you can even set the guns to auto fire so you don't have to mash the button , simply hold fire and walk around.
Sound familiar by chance ? that's becuase devil may cry 2's defualt difficulty was like this and as I recall most complaints were centered on how the game was too damn easy, so blame critics for the horribly brutal diffuculty that normal mode gives you in DMC3.

iceDragon7 said:This game owns, so many cool styles to perform. My favorite is using the 2 pistols to aim at an enemy behind me and shoot the one in front of me. I almost got through the 3rd boss on my 1st try but those purple things are very annoying.
Great game though

Seriously, just started level 5. I put that gear thing in to start the clockwork structure. Says a door opened but I can't find it. :lol This spiral tower is getting me disoriented!

For the love of God, whatever you do, when facing Agni and Rudra don't take them out one at a time! You'll be sorry!!!
Man I just got my ass kicked! :lol
Those two are driving me insane. I must have played that level at least 5 times last night, taking very little damage and doing great up until I'd get to them. At least my stock of red orbs is constantly growing.Spike Spiegel said:...![]()

Mrbob said:Are you banking your orbs before you die? I think I died like 10 times on level 3 by the damn Ice Guardian boss. But I banked my orbs every time. It was strange because I got my ass kicked like nine times in a row. On the tenth time I blew through the Ice Guardian. The creature only hit me once and it was only a glancing blow. I then tore through level 4 like nothing too. Backing EXP helps because you can build up Dante even if you die. I realized I could buy Blue Orbs which raise your health. Plus you can find blue orb pieces. I already raised my experience by four times and have 3 out of 4 orbs. My trickster style is level 2 and I'm still on level 5. It makes the dieing easier since you can save your stats and build up Dante. I refuse to buy yellow orbs right now. Maybe I will if I max out dantes moves.
