I have come to the conclusion that my 360 is one of the weirdest pieces of electronic equipment I have ever owned. As you all know, yesterday, out of the blue, the damn thing RRoD's me. I go through the whole "I'm sad, screw you MS deal," and, as I was listening to Karma's song in the OT thread, which, mind you, is pretty good, I decided "Eh, what the hell" and started hitting my 360 to the beat of the music. I am literally slapping the thing, and, once the song is over, mostly as a joke, I try to turn it on. To my amazement, it works. I play some GAF games, have fun, and call it a night and turn it off. It RRoD's me. With a grin on, I slap it once more, and voila, it works.

So....my 360 is working only when I slap it, and once I turn it off, it dies. I slap it again, it works. Odd.

I've also played somewhere from 500-1,000 lan matches of halo2 having lived in a house with 4 halo fans. But collectively im still around 5,000 at best, I also had hurricane katrina end my halo2 days prematurely as it sank my xbox and the rest of my possessions landing me in ATL for about a year.

I also lost my 360 pre-order thanks to that damn hurricane as the store I pre-ordered from was looted and shutdown for a year, and gamestops were total dicks about helping me get my money back for a paid off 360, or what I really wanted which was my launch unit. I had to camp out at best buy in ATL for a day instead. I guess thats another story all together though.

Ironically enough, I never performed any double shots as The Double Shot. I was practicing at the time and then I stopped caring. So that's actually 13,275 games. Not counting games I've played at LAN parties and tournaments.

Not hate, but found it pretty boring and uninspired (outside of the Bungie net stuff, which was phenomenal).

That said, I went into the Halo 3 Beta expecting to feel the same way, but it won me over tenfold. The equipment stuff was simple, yet fun and dynamic. Snowbound is like the best map ever, due mainly to the bubble shield and the impregnable forcefields, which created intense fights. Most importantly, however, the weapons felt balanced beyond belief, unlike Halo 2.

In other words, I fully expect to finally drink the Bungie multiplayer kool-aid after Halo 3.

Hey why doesn't anybody ever play Marathon XBLA multiplayer? I feel confused, embarrased, and sad every time I boot it up and realize I am the only person in the world trying to play a multiplayer Marathon game.

I didn't like H2 multiplayer until I found tactics for each map. I like to camp, or run in circles through an area.

Like Snowbound. I would go in one base, run grab shot gun and stick grenades, then go from Base a to cave under to base b to cave under to base a etc. Then it's fun. I can get kills, and usually evade. Also dual SMG's spray and then Melee is another one of my stupid tactics.

Camp, Circles, Stupid, is how I do well in Halo.



I was just thinking about my last game in the beta, and how it was down to 2 of my friends (custom games) and me. Everyone else had quit. I was on the pink team, they were on brown. Highground. They grabbed power weapons and camped at the beach. I would run there and get maimed. We had stupid speed on too so I got some kills were I just ran into a mongoose that would blow up killing one of them. That was such a fun match. I'm imagining it on Forge now, how I could have attacked them much better without blindly running. Raining Fusion cores, throwing vehicles at them, etc.

Can't wait...

I only have 15 Halo 2 games played. I had about 150 games in the Halo 3 beta. I would play Halo 2 a lot more, but it doesn't get along with my 360. It likes to freeze all the time in multiplayer. Campaign works well for the most part.

Funny thing is it's almost like an early version of the screen cap feature in Halo 3. I remember my last game, it froze while I was zoomed in on the chaos of a battle. It captured a warthog almost flipped by a grenade and a rocket in midair only about 10 feet from impact. I admired the scene for a while, imagining what would of happened if only my 360 hadn't froze. Then I got up and turned off the 360, and decided that I had enough of the poor backwards compatibility, and would just wait for Halo 3.

It's four rings when it's disconnected. It's happened to me before, so I checked anyway to make sure. It's connected.
