Oh god, I can't help but look at those images and laugh :lol

My nerves and me generally psyching myself out ruined my chances from the get go.

"Ok, let's do this!"
"Ok, she's getting up..."
"Crap, something feels off"
"Wait, isn't the barrel of the gun supposed to reach her head?"
"Shit, my aimer is off-target"
"OH FUCK SHE'S NEARLY UP"
"DIE DIE DIE AAAAUGH"

"I don't got it". :(

But at least the first time you shot your gun!

Well, it looks like you shot the same time she swiped.
Yea, I was a bit off-target on the first attempt and late on firing in the second.

She like roundhouse uppercut him. :lol Super Macho Man style.

Wish I would've gotten the police car (didn't know it could be punched) being punched in my face and it flying over me and the Tank/zombie escape in the luggage conveyor belt room.

Did you make those gifs from fraps recordings?

Can use VirtualDub to shorten it or just use a gif program outright from the avi.

I still remember randomly being shot in the back of the head with a shotgun on expert campaign runs with Pillow.

I hit Daigoro in the back of the head at the airport from a good distance. Wish I had gotten that. I nailed him really good. A friend of mine that was watching me play just busted out laughing and said 'damn, awesome shot'. :lol

I did save Botolf by incapping him, Hunter was behind him, I shot at the Hunter but Botolf was escaping and I nailed him, then I started to get pulled, and I meleed the Hunter off him, and Blizzard/Daigoro saved us both right before we died.

Kinda big. http://redscarlet.paragonsigma.com/bothunter01.gif

I'd guess any animation program like Ulead or whatever it is. I just use Animation Shop.

- Hunting Rifles make for gruesome friendly fire accidents (I had 10, which put me ahead of the next player's 9 and everybody else's)

- I used the most Molotov Cocktails by a fair margin

- Blizzard thinks I'm some kind of saboteur after the incident where I inadvertently set three of us on fire

- At one point, we only had one Sniper Rifle that carried over from a previous map, and it passed hands several times

- My favored catchphrase to utter before doing something dangerous: "IT'S HERO TIME"

- There might have been a third witch gif, but I decided it wasn't worth tangling with that witch (we were closing in on the parking garage and she was avoidable)

- Scarlet and I escaped onto the plane, but not before Blizzard revived both of us

- An even 3,000 zombies were harmed over the course of the campaign

- Blizzard is going to be dog-tired for work tomorrow

I got tired of waiting for my regular team to assemble and have a run at this with me. So I did it myself. You know, solo. With only bots for company.

What now, Valve?

Holy shit. That's awesome. Any tips? Did you do it on easy? I will have to try it solo since I never have a regular crew for this game.

I did it on Easy, on Blood Harvest, playing as Zoey (to ensure that none of the bots grabbed a hunting rifle). A perfect run takes ~20 minutes or a little longer.

I could write an entire guide on how to do it, but it's probably easier to watch this video...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s1665LU0fyw

...and the two other parts which follow it, as they cover most of the major tips, and you'll work out the rest as you play (I got pretty drilled at it, to the point where I would know where particular specials would appear if they spawned in certain areas). That said, finding and using the gas cans on tanks isn't as important as he suggests.

You could also try Dead Air (and in fact, I'd probably recommend Dead Air as being easier if you play with humans; there are a number of reasons why Blood Harvest is better for bots, but I don't want to bog the thread down with abstract theorising about how the AI survivors/specials select targets and navigate environments). I'm not sure how manageable either the NM or DT finales would be with bots.

Most importantly, you have to accept how much luck is involved, no matter how perfectly you play. The bots hate to dodge rocks, but love to watch you get dragged by smokers. Even on that last successful run (my first and only attempt today; I first tried it on Monday) I had Francis freeze for a few seconds on the rescue vehicle ramp, and my heart nearly stopped. Mostly it's perseverance and accepting that lots of things are going to happen which are beyond your control (sometimes the tank spawns are particularly brutal; on that last BH3 run I had a tank spawn on the right side of the door coming out of the underground to meet up with the tracks again, and that is honestly the only time I saw that happen in however many attempts I made at it).

Oh, and sometimes you will feel like you are being victimised (four or five runs in a row I had the tank spawn in the opening warehouse of BH2, without any tier 2 guns available; I only pulled through half of those, because the bots will usually just stand together on the gantry waiting for a rock to get hurled at them).

Hunters jump-slashing and instantly appearing Tanks were our main problem when Pop/Goreomedy/MarvelHarvey/I got Nothing Special. On Easy, it's pretty pointless to speed up the Tank by setting it on fire, just blow it away. And it's not very difficult to just initiate the event on BH2 and BH3 and make a mad dash for the safe room during the event, it's probably recommended to do so (but watch out for instant Tanks).

Our NS run is still around if it'd help, LP.

Yeah, mad dashes are fine except for the occasional witch or tank. I found BH2 by far the hardest of the five maps because of the tighter spaces and the lack of guaranteed tier 2 weapons to face the tank.

Hunters will lose it for you 70% of the time, because sometimes the bots have no interest in dealing with them (offset somewhat by their sharpshooting of them at range), and all it takes is one swipe after you punch them out of the air to ruin everything. Tank rocks are the other huge problem (far more so than the punch), because the bots simply do not dodge them. You have to kite the tank to you to minimise rock throws. Luckily the Easy tanks goes down in seconds under sustained fire.

With how BH2 has a couple of different branches, we just tried to get lucky and not run into a Tank during the dash to the safe room, I don't remember if there was one or not. We got an instant Tank at the very end of BH4 right in front of the safe room door, but Pop was carrying propane so we got him, and MarvelHarvey knew about the Hunter that came behind him last time and got him afterward, I was almost to the safe room when I heard him kill the Hunter. :lol

On our successful try, it was kind of funny that the very first and very last Hunters were the closest things to ruining it; I think we had a few frames to spare (maybe .25 seconds/1-3 frames on the last one) before damage was done.

I've gotten the 'no barf' achievement (Easy, No Mercy) and beaten BH Expert with 3 bots, but I'm pretty amazed that you got Nothing Special with them, the bots are great shots on specials but they always seem so stupid when it comes to close quarters/if someone is grabbed by one/Tanks in general.

Yeah, with the bots, unless you luck out, you can't get pounced or pulled at all, because you can't rely on them to react in time. Tanks are fine provided you have a little space to work in (for the BH finale I actually sat out the back, where the rescue vehicle departs, and then moved up past the log to fight the tanks just behind the house).

Definitely couldn't do the different branches trick on BH2 with bots, as they will always stop to fight a tank.

Eventually you end up thinking of them as a kind of semi-intelligent gun platform you drag behind you. You also start to give them actual personalities. Bill is my least liked, because he once got pounced on the other side of the cornfield from everyone else, whereas Louis was always dependable.

When I did it on expert, I went to the far corner of the barn to get everyone to climb the ladder. I don't think anyone got touched during the finale. Too bad you didn't capture it, it's always fun to see how other people tackle stuff like NS.

Untouchables I got with 3 friends, but I got Stomach Upset with one friend. I am going to have to try this out myself. It seems straightforward enough.

It's probably the best way to get Untouchables, given the bots' accuracy.

Although It's funny to me now how I thought Stomach Upset might be tricky at the time (although I did it on my first attempt). Now it's just like one tenth of Nothing Special in my mind.

yeah, its obviously much much harder to avoid all specials instead of just boomers.

boomers are the most vocal and easiest to spot for the most part. not to mention tanks and witches (vs dumb AI) can make it a nightmare.

I did something crazy tonight with the smoker that I will try to explain, hopefully this makes sense. I don't THINK this is supposed to happen, or if it's duplicatable or not.

I'm a Smoker at the start of Dead Air 2. I climb up the roof and jump from that roof into the room near the top of the building that the Survivors start in that has two wooden planks barring the window, and that window looks directly down on where the Survivors come out underneath the garage doors out of the safe room. Standing on that window ledge (probably as far out as I could without falling), I pulled a Survivor as he was near the top of the ladder going up to the fire escape which is directly to my left. Now I'm not sure if this is supposed to happen or not, but when I pulled him it pulled him STRAIGHT across to me at that same height, way over the fence, and I wound up incap'ing him since the other team apparently had no idea what had happened. I'm thinking that because I was basically on the ledge and the ladder is close enough to that left wall, my tongue was basically pulling him across the window ledges, which kept him at the same height, as opposed to me just pulling him down off the ladder and on their side of the fence.

Has anyone else done that, or wants to try duplicating it? If you can do that consistently it would be pretty awesome; if you're unable to straight incap them that way, you could have the rest of your team work with you so even if his teammates shoot him down, they can try to keep the Survivor on your side of the fence and incap him before he can get back over to their side (unless there's a way for Survivors to get back over that fence that I've not seen).

I've done that before back before the patch was released. Figured it was just a bug. Surprised they didn't fix that.

I am going to try that the next possible chance I get. It doesn't sound legitimate, though, so you should probably fling an email Valve's way in case they aren't already aware of the problem.

Woo! Played through an Easy campaign with Bulleta, Ezekiel, and Daigoro. We successfully snatched Nothing Special after many tries.

All that remains in my achievement list are the three Survival medal achievements.

There is a tiny audio/video skip in BH5, from when I stopped recording and began a new one a half second later. It's not very noticeable though.

If you don't tell your wife Daigoro, I won't either.

Since I made that one, I made Daigoro's vid. He managed to set up 6 propane tanks on top of the fireplace on the lighthouse, so he thought it'd be neat to use them in a grand explosion, with gas cans. I suggested setting it all off with a pipe bomb, and got a good view of the hilarious result. So here you go, Daigoro.
