Thanks. I have seen a few pics of Yuffi, Cloud, Aeris and Sephiroth. Is Tifa, Barret, Marlene, Vincent and Cid around as well? How is the voice-acting? Sorry if I asked too many questions.

I know you don't keep the DMW stuff you've unlocked, or the main summons. For some reason I think the few pages of PR junk that SE sent along with it says that you don't keep the side mission progress either, but you do keep your current levels, inventory, and gil. I'll find out for sure tonight about the side mission stuff carrying over.

She has the most ridiculous outfit in the game too. Vincent makes an cameo (but you don't actually see him) if you click on all the coffins laying around in Shinra Mansion.

I was intending to import this game but since the PAL boxart kicks so much ass I will wait and pick up the PAL version. Awesome thread. This game is my most anticipated game in 2008.

Yup.

I was wrong about hard mode though. You can select that from the beginning, not just new game +.

Stuff that carries over in new game +: Level, Inventory (Equipment and Materia), Gil

Stuff that doesn't: Side Missions progress, extra equipment slots, DMW progress.

I'm not sure if you unlock more side missions in New Game + mode, but I'll assume you do. If not, I don't really see the point in using it.

What? Euro version is currently slated for a June release, that's an extra three months.

Some of the more emotional moments of the Nibelheim flashback revolve around Tifa, mainly

discovering her father's corpse, attempting to take out Sephiroth (only to get injured instead), and being rescued by Cloud after the injury. I suppose the last bit could still be shown since she's unconscious, but it's a shame if the first two parts are skipped over. I really would've wanted to hear Rachel Leigh Cook's acting chops in those moments.

THIS GAME IS REALLY GOOD GUYS. I DON'T CARE IF YOU'RE TOO COOL FOR FINAL FANTASY NOW. JUST PLAY IT.

One of the best portable RPGs ever, with an excellent story, battle system, and great graphics and music to boot!

No, gameplay + cinematics = 12 hours
But if you do the side missions with it, it take more than 30 hours.

They obviously didn't play much then, whoever wrote the article. There is only one attack button, X, but you can't get away with spamming it thru battles, or you'll die pretty quickly.
