SRK didn't exist until 2001, and was small for a good while after that.

You could get info back in the day, I know locally in the A2 times, the Valle CC- our local top player got that from the newsgroup.

I wouldn't be too impressed by those Ultras, guys. It's a full Ultra meter. If anything, they should be testing it at half meter.

yeah, back in the day to get fighting game info- you had to flood up your email with 30-40 emails a day, or use usenet.

The internet explosion for fighting games didn't really take off until 2002-3.

Any word on how the online is going to work in this game? Please tell me it won't be the same as SF4's. SF4 has by far the worst online system I've seen in a modern game. Way too many steps to actually get into a game.

In SF4 you first search for available users, click on one you wish you to fight (usually get an error here), and get to the "Ready" screen (sometimes the other user doesn't respond). Everytime something goes wrong you have to start from the first step. Awful.

no its the same, well the interface might be somewhat different but the netcode will be the same...

THawk looked to handle Dud pretty well too. Im betting he'll have problems with Gief as well. His normals arent good enough to keep either of them out and he has to rely on his blows and in close mixups to do damage which put him at risk of getting command grabbed when blocked.

He'll get thrown a lot, but pretty much everything else he can Cross Counter on reaction. CC isn't stopped by armor breakers like other counters. He might have problems with Hakan, oddly enough.

I am joining the Juri hate club... I know there are others of you out there, don't be shy of getting angered by fans who auto loves and female character just because.

It is okay to like Ibuki and Makoto but still hate on Juri (SNK wawa character)

I do not know about your fighting scene with your friends (I am an expert in mine), but here, EVERYONE except me and one other guy mains and plays only man characters because "that is the obvious thing to do" - and I am often called out for maining Viper and eyeing Juri because of her AWESOME mobilty and tools.

So quite the contrary: it feels refreshing to broaden the agile and nicely looking (yeah, that is a bonus, because if I wanted to watch oiled up half-naked guys wrestle, Id have put my money into the wrestling fighting scene, or some Fight Night XY) cast, and still, if you check SSFIV-s cast growth, it is 3-7 again, favoring male characters.

I <3 Juri. Primarily because I am part Korean, and I used to take TaeKwonDo when I was lil tyke.

Yes, Hwoarang is my main in Tekken :D

Fuck anything else, that is the best news ive heard about this game.

I pray it also means that all moves do more blockstun now.

And that juri song is terrible but its LOL terrible, not facepalm terrible.

Quick Juri question:

How exactly does her fireball function? I heard you can store a fireball by holding a punch buttion but I guess the motion is qcf+k? Can I do qcf+lk then store it with hp? Which version comes out when I release it? If the lk version comes out can you mismatch the strength of the move and the button it's stored to? :lol

And do I dare ask which button combinations do which version of her ex fireball? :lol

I didnt play him so I have no opinion but Richard is pretty good with him.

what I like about Dudley is that he does not require to use FADCs to get into juggle combos, he just has to be himself

and his FADC stuff seems to suffer from more damaging scaling than non-FADC juggles

*my hate for FADCs stems from me being a charge character player

with dudes like rog and chun you can save the meters for EXes or FADC to make unsafe moves safe and it's not like you still can't combo into ultra

Man, Guy just doesn't seem that good right now.... :(

Looks like there is a use of Guile's sonic hurricane after all - looks safe even if blocked and it doesn't seem you can jump out of it on reaction unlike Ryu's ultra 1.
Does decent chip damage too.
