it suck to see a lot of people swarm to T.Hawk because he will be higher tier, awhile few of us who have been maining t.hawk since SSF2 have to deal with people who are focused on top tier/high tier only.

Makoto was falling for way too much of Rufus's crap, just like with any other character when the player isn't familiar with Rufus. I really don't think that was the best Makoto could do.
 
I think I'm a stubborn dude. The more I saw Makoto fall, the more I want to main her. Unleash the moe Kratos rage!

Or maybe they just finally got his recipe right and it's so delicious that few can resist. I know to me he just seems to flow so much more nicely than ever before.

I don't recall anyone saying that except Marn when he was unveiled.

I think Marn was saying: T.Hawk=good damage/command grab,but no combo or setup so he's crap. :lol He never seemed bad to me and he's not a character who will rely on combo to win.

Ok maybe that's where i got that from, but T-Hawk looks damn nice.
 
Give it a few days after release and i bet T.Hawk becomes average once ppl figure out how to stay away then punish, just like with Gief. Ive always like T.hawk since his arrival in the SF series though :D

It's probably a hassle to pick it up. Once you get hit once, you drop the knife.

But it does decent chip damage so it's really up to the player's style I suppose.
 
They said it's really to drop the knife. Even his taunt drops the knife. I didn't play much of Cody in A3 so I'm unsure of how useful it was but it looks like it's good for chipping and throwing it across when the match is down the wire.

just like gief? :lol people will swarm over to t.hawk if he's anywhere near zangief-level of power.

Cody with the knife is good. Especially towards the end of a match.
 
thanks for tuning in guys.. was a lot of fun, sorry we couldnt play everyone.

really tried with makoto but she is pretty rough. once they get away from you its hard to get them back in your grip. the karakusa just doesnt work the same as it used to so I am sticking by what I said before that I think she will probably do better in hands of players who are new to her and can look at her with an open mind. I think she has some good tools but against grapplers and super rushdown characters its hard to keep people off of you.

on the other hand, cody is a ton of fun. learned even more about him today so more of his game is coming together for sure. he has his own challenges against grapplers though, and honestly not sure who is going to put gief and thawk in check at this point. sagat is pretty weak, he can do it but has to play flawlessly.
 
haha arival played thawk a lot. man he is gonna be a situation.he does so much damage and is just a tank. magus and i were talking and not really sure which character will keep him in check.

What do you think of the lower tiers' viability against the new cast so far?

Sucks we didn't get to see anyone play Fuerte, Claw, Dan, or Rose.
I want to see how viable they are with the new changes against the new cast.

In any case, after watching Guile in some games, do you think he'll get beaten to the curb by the new cast?

Given that Abel was able to punish his dive with soulless, it's at least -14. Then again, even THAT didn't do nearly enough damage. :/

T.hawk seems to be doing too much damage and having too much health - basically vanilla Gief.

Hopefully they can fix it either by nerfing his damage or health. Still it's only a month away so that's probably impossible.
 
I dunno, it might just be a matter of figuring out what to do because his strategy is really direct and really basic.

In style and probably gameplay too, T. Hawk is the least technical character in the game.

hmm... i like guiles new ultra but didnt play him much. he can at least use sonic hurricane and possibly get damage. he seems safe afterwards? not sure but at least he isnt like up int he air like he was with the other one super easy to punish.

im pretty sure the final versions are being manufactured as we speak..if they havent been already.

Ive never had much of a problem facing Gief players. I main chun so i know its not my char choice that makes the difference.(maybe bad gief players?? i dunnno lol) :D
Also, do you think Capcom made T.Hawk more powerful just becasue so many people hate on him? Like a cruel joke from the SF team...
but anyways, SSF4 is going to take a good chunk of my game time this year just like SF4 did, and now it has :D 10 more chars and a better online focus? HELL YEAH!!

Thinking about it, Akuma can be extremely lame and probably do well against T. Hawk. Lots of fireballs, air fireballs, and teleporting.

Of course, if he fucks up he's dead...
 
i think juri will do well but the thing is thawk has so much life its ridiculous. he does so much damage too its like .... i dont even know..his normals are so good..

Hawk supposedly has the most at 1150, right? Does that mean that Rufus' health was reduced? Or is he tied for first?

I could see a good Sim player totally mess with T. Hawk also, then again like you said if he gets caught BYE BYE Sim LOL!

havent tried it. learned a lot of shit about cody tonight though. he is so awesome. he will take a certain type of player to do well with him though i think. you have to constantly switch between playing solid and goofy. its just odd play style but its really fun.
 
O_o at T.Hawk's fierce 720. Ridiculous damage.

Watching Sagat fight him was actually really fun to watch to. Tiger Cannon seems like a pretty solid ultra. I can appreciate great Sagat play even more now, zoning wasn't always easy against Gief in Vanilla, now it looks like a pain in the ass against Hawk :lol.

I hope you keep playing Sagat on the side at the very least Haunts, I like watching yours and other good ones that know what they're doing.

Evo is gonna be awesome this year, looks like my first one is going to be awesome :D Can't wait to see a T. Hawk or Guy or some other surprise character absolutely rip through pools.
