Im not at home yet to download it on a console, but I played alot of the pc demo last night with the 360 pad and i liked it alot, besides the awful music and the questionable look of the menus it was improved alot over last years effort.

I also think using the new camera that swings round the pitch makes my passing play look alot better than it is lol

Based on the 360 demo, I won't be buying this. FIFA 09 plays a much more natural and smooth game of football. I was hoping that PES would be better, because the game mode set of FIFA is almost abysmal, but unfortunately there is no definitive footie game this year. PES for features, FIFA for the beautiful game.

To me, it feels a lot clunkier than 2008. Dare I say it, but it actually plays closer to 6 than last years. Graphics are exactly the same, as expected.

Definitely not willing to spend full price on this, not after doing the same for the last God knows how many years and seeing very little improvement.

I guess there'll be the classic 'Oh, but this is a shit build' arguments again, but Konami can shove it this year.

I at 41%. I usually get blistering speeds (1mb+) but today, not so much. only about 250k/s

Played 6-7 games, seems better than 2008 but I'm still far from blown away. Need to try it in multiplayer though, PES is always a different kettle of fish with human opposition.

tip - quit the game in injury time to avoid that annoying video after each game.

did you guys notice the become a legend sort of option in the demo....u can chose which and how many players you want to control....and you can also select the vertical camera with the camera on your player....unlike be a pro, you can choose to select multiple players while the rest are AI controller.....for instance, playing as italy, i was controlling del piero, pirlo and zambrotta while the rest of the team was AI controlled....it takes a bit of getting used to, but its a very cool option

to activate it, at the controller select option, go into cursor options and switch "player select" to "ON"

Local multiplayer Winning Eleven/PES is simply the best in gaming. Well, at least that was the case during the PS2 days.

hm!

- shooting from outside the box is much more harder. hopefully this is the end of all these crazy adriano goals
- the dribbling mechanics became difficult. but i like that. it's a nice challenge.
- grahics are ok. but there are a lot of old animations =(
- attacking became harder. my good old strategy (playing with 3 forwards, fast passes into the offense) don't work anymore.

But I like it. it feels more realistic than PES 2008. And Ribery is a beast. Too bad there is no Bayern :((((((((((((((((((((((((

Defending is a bitch to, it might have been because I set it to manual but for the love of god, I can't keep a clean sheet, I've conceded in every match so far, and I barely ever concede goals in PES demos. :(

Might be because I haven't played PES for 2 weeks, thanks to a certain piece of equipment breaking down. :mad:

Everything else is only a marginal improvement over 2008, but after the disappointing mouse controls of FIFA 09 PC (which I was so hyped for), I still think PES will be the one to get. At least, I like the PES demo more than the FIFA demo. Will play a couple more games.


edit: oh, and the video just made me aware that Konami copied the be a pro mode from FIFA. :lol Competition is awesome.

Talk about underwhelming. Ive got Fifa in my 360 drive and this years Pro Evo is almost archaic by comparison.

1vs1 was the best, downloading it in the office as I type so I can see improvements.

- Feels clunky, but it got better. Still won my first match 2-1 :D
- Everything is better then last years version, which sucked ass
- Ball physics are amazing
- Graphics are still PS2 HD
- Dribbling is weird, but it's good
- Van Der Sar sucks!

I'll be getting both this year

That sums it up pretty well.

Looks a lot better and plasy a lot smoother. Some cool new animations.
Dribbling felt weird when using the analogue but normal on the d-pad. Its definately the most noticeable change to me.

Going to take a few games to re-accustom myself but it's much improved over last year and a must buy for PES fans.
