The Sega console that never existed until now; Sega Neptune

I mean the project is 1) absolutely unnecessary 2) absolutely complicated 3) can be accomplished by just jamming a 32X into a Genesis and 4) pretty damn fun and entertaining

If you aren't familiar with it, the Sega Neptune was a planned combo Genesis / 32X system that Sega planned on releasing before the Saturn in the 90s. Just incorporating both the Genesis and 32X hardware on the same PCB for a more compact system. But with Saturn basically ready to launch it was a console without an audience so Sega quietly killed the project and moved on

and in 2025 Cosam the Great, a modder and engineer decided...well we can recreate it! And they did

So the Neptune was delayed like three decades but hey...better late than never!

The narration style of this youtuber always annoys me after a few seconds.
I don't think it's the tone as much as he's trying to speak like chaining multiple sentences like it's a single long one. He needs to take more time to breath.

I recommend the MachoNachoProductions channel. It's got some really cool content where he mods consoles or makes stuff, including the Sega Neptune.

The money was in a Saturn with a MD cartridge slot in the back. Sure, it strands the SEGA CD/32X libraries, but meh.
