The STEAM Halloween Sale - Gaben slashes more than just prices...

Conflicted about Crypt of the Necrodancer. Really intrigued by the concept, but since it's in Early Access it's still not done, and I'm sure it'll be cheaper than 33% off in the future.

Also nearly pulled the trigger on The Fall, but then saw someone mention that it has basically no ending, leaves you hanging on a cliffhanger and is just the first entry in a planned three-parter.

Not a good sale by Steam standards.

Oh well, I own too many games I haven't played yet...the backlog is real. Steam did me a favor this time. I expect the winter holiday sale will leave me crying and broke so I can look forward to that.

A good sale for horror niche collectors like me, bought a few games for myself and a few for friends and giveaway stuff.

There's a lot of underground niche titles I bet most of you don't realize are good, I'll try and make a list later. For mainstream stuff, it may not be a good sale, but there's some really good deals on some fantastic niche horror stuff.

This is probably the better thread for this.

I'm looking at the Legacy of Kain pack at the moment at 4 dollars, but I'm reading bad things about the port. I can probably get around the controller issues, but the freezing looks like a big problem. I got burned on the Jet Set Radio port earlier where I can't load saved games properly, so I'd like some help with this if there are any fixes.

Picked up Darksiders finally. I've had the 2nd one for a while but wanted to play the the 1st one first. Haven't seen it on sale til now, though.

Not sure why Insurgency is in there but if you like Rainbow Six: Vegas 2's terrorist hunt game mode Insurgency co-op is for you.

It looks like a game that's right up my alley, but looking around it seems that there are some complaints about the AI in the co-op mode. Sounds like it's really bad. How's your experience with it?

Looking forward to the list. I'm thinking the sale is pretty lame.

Just a heads up, achievements are glitched and don't register if you don't restart Steam immediately before playing it....every.....single.......time.....

Check out the Steam community forum on a big thread about it. Really annoying - but awesome game.

Since when does insurgency have coop??

Im gonna have to try this.
I think they added it during the summer and did a sale when the update launched.

At lower difficulties the AI acts dumb at times, they'll sometimes shoot in small bursts slowly or freeze for a second giving you enough time to run away to get to a better position or reload if you ran out of bullets.

At higher difficulties the game is hard as it's supposed to be as there is an equal chance of of you killing the enemy and them killing you. If you run into a room without throwing a flashbang or carefully entering and there happens to be enemies in it you will die. Sometimes the bots at higher difficulty have aimbot levels of accuracy, it doesn't happen often but when it does it does gets on my nerves. When it's happened to me it was never a situation where I felt I found it to be unreasonable. If I did die by that it was because the enemy already knew my location, I've never experienced something like a back all of a sudden turning his back to face me for whatever reason to shot my head.

I can understand why people will say it's unfair since it certainly does feel it's unfair at first, but once you get used to it it's really not as unfair as you'd think. Just my experience. My suggestion will be to always get heavy armor and AP bullets.

Hey US GAF, currently Amazon has Bioshock 2 Minerva's Den steam code on sale but it's not part of Steam halloween sale, I cannot buy it. Can someone buy it for me? I'll paypal the money.

Shadow of Chernobyl and Clear Sky is on sale.

But seriously, where the heck is Dark Souls? As I remember, Dark Souls II never been on sale since its release.

Cool, thought the pic in the OP was the entire sale.
