Journey is still GOTY, btw
Nothing even came close so far this year for me
I personally think The Unfinished Swan is better, but I still need to ruminate on it. Either way, both are exceptional games.

2. Why would that possibly matter?
And the link is broken because the site has been banned.
Generally yeah. This gen, the vast majority of my purchases of new IPs have come after a demo, or trying the game first in some fashion.
Why would I risk throwing money away based on Internet hype?
Made that mistake only a couple of times this gen. Once on Castlevania on XBLA.
Why would it matter? Seriously? I get what you're trying to say; people shouldn't care about numbers but what is actually said in the review (or rather I assume what you meant to say, as you didn't have time to say it I suppose). But nonetheless that's not how the world works.
And if the site is banned then why in the name of all that's holy is there a link to it, especially if the link gets broken automatically? Is this a joke thread? :/
Similar to Journey, The Unfinished Swan is brief, visually stunning, and more focused on the experience than with testing combat skills or platforming prowess. Some collectibles are available in the form of hidden balloons and storybook pages, which might bring completionists back for additional playthroughs. While I feel that the overall experience didn’t impact me as much as Journey, and won’t stay with me as long, it still has plenty of unique ideas to offer.
You could argue that the unsatisfying ending leaves some room for a sequel or downloadable content (DLC). But gamers are not necessarily a forgiving lot. If you ask them to spend hours playing a game, and then deny them an interesting ending, then the result isn’t good. Just as the folks at BioWare who created the ending for Mass Effect 3. This ending isn’t as bad as that one, but it is ambiguous.
This game started out with two people and grew to 12. And all of them get some extra-generous credits at the end. But it is astounding to me that such a small team can create a game that is as moving and inspiring as The Unfinished Swan. It is the kind of game that big game studios won’t make, to their loss.
Score: 88/100
I'll never understand how people can take one review as gospel, while thoroughly dismissing everyone else. Why not read a few, from a variety of sources, extract the salient points, then use that to make your own informed decision? I mean, I'm not saying you won't make your own choice, but why rely on one review? Is the reviewer a gaming Oracle or something? The only review that matters will be the Insomnia.ac one.
The 9's - "Gorgeous art."
The 6's - "Too artsy."

Bottom Line: A must-play for any PlayStation owner, The Unfinished Swan is a short but brilliant exercise in broadening perception, and utilizing simplicity.
Recommendation: If you're looking for emotionally-stirring, minimalistic experiences the likes of Journey and Flower, you'd regret not diving into The Unfinished Swan the moment you can.
An odd bit of dreariness aside, The Unfinished Swan is still a rock-solid game with oodles of character. While stopping short of the heights seen in some of Sony's other exclusive "art" games, Unfinished Swan remains a worthy adventure, one of many that continue to define the PlayStation Network as a braver and more experimental place than the downloadable markets of Sony's competition. If it had expanded the latter half of the adventure more and focused less on the plant puzzles, it would have been near-perfect.
As it stands, The Unfinished Swan is a good way to casually wile away some spare hours. You can't complain too much about that.

I was expecting a more uniformly positive reception, but some interesting reviews. It's going to be hard to dodge all the discussion for a week I'm sure.
I am confuse, these are every high reviews besides 2.Me too, thought it was going to be the critical darling to rival Journey. Kind of surprised how low couple of the scores are given it won best downloadable at E3. Sounds like they had some fantastic ideas that just weren't realised enough.

The ideas are realized... IMO. And they are fantastic.
A few dissident views should not be at all surprising for a game that A) is very tough to nail down B) is short, on purpose and C) is very much about mechanics design, which many games aren't.
You know a couple means two right? Journey got a slew of perfect scores and rave reviews from critics. TUS, not so much. It seems to be in the 8 range, good game and worth playing, not GOTY material.

Wanna know the ironic thing about this game? It runs on the Gamebryo engine.
Flower's Metacritic rating is 87, doesn't look like this will match that.to be honest, ThatGameCompany took 3 games to reach that critically well reviewed window.
Flow, and Flower wasn't received very well, (although flower is better than Journey for me)

Nope. He's just going to tear the game apart and label it a piece of shit for "art fagots" like he does in most of the indie game reviews he does. It'll definitely be the most entertaining, well written and vitriolic review of the bunch.
I can never tell if that person is some unfunny, dolan-esque internet meme, funny to those wrapped up in internet board culture, or if people take his self-indulgent, undergrad Libertarian spew, laden with casual sexism and bigotry, seriously.

That's really cool. I didn't think my page was loading right at first :lolSixth Axis 9/10 [Clever Style]
Oh well. I won't play it then. Thanks for making me steer clear!
So my concern might be unnecessary.
Hah.
1. Isn't that a store, and not a professional journalist?
2. What kind of score is that, an excellent/what?
3. Link is broken anyway.
BTW NeoGaf doesn't seem to like my links, I've no idea why.
But you can find the review at (no space between shopto and .net obviously)
Uhh, that is probably not a good idea to get around the censorship.

No sure what the problem is really. Never had an issue with links before.
