I'm in the middle of chapter 2 myself. So far I've spent most of my time traveling. I'm a bit apprehensive. I really hope the pace picks up.

I have not used GOG before, does it work like Steam? I look at the list of games, they are old classics, so i will really only buying TW2 from GOG...and i do not want another program accessing my PC and private information.

Minsc said:CecilRousso just needs to back down, it's pretty obvious this implementation of DRM is even less intrusive than Steam itself, which he accepts out of desire/convenience, and then says it is irrelevant what Steam does that is even worse simply because he likes Steam.
Kyaw said:Oh man, i cannot get enough of this too. The one track that stood out from the GOG 4 track pack.
What! That's easily my favorite one from the first game.Van Buren said:I'm hoping there are tracks in Witcher 2 that match this tranquil theme from Chapter 4 that wasn't even included in the Soundtrack CD - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YrBqEeR1vqY.

The wait just became much more painful!.
I know, that's exactly why I don't pre-order games that early .bengraven said:You have to wait, what 4 days? I've had the game bought since December. Sucks to have to wait for a game you paid $50 for almost 6 months ago.
GOG is just a website. You get a personalized link to your homepage with a list of all the games you own along with all of the bonus content. You can download stuff as regular internet files or with an optional downloader that supports resuming.longdi said:hey can someone advice how reliable is GOG? Anyways, I need to finish up my play through of the first one asap, this is getting far too close to release.

I mean, you need to collect something, but in order to do that, you have to have the talent unlocked and you need a book to tell you how to collect that, whether it's a bestiary or herbal book etc. Then I couldn't find the books I needed.
That shit drove me up the wall, never mind the hundreds of random items I was picking up for making potions etc.
I'm hoping The Witcher 2 will be a little more stream lined or n00b friendly in this regard?
Darklord said:Wait, you can just change region and avoid the Australian version? Fuck, I pre-ordered it from the UK. An extra weeks wait for nothing.

Definitely one of the things I enjoyed about the game as well.Complistic said:Hopefully not. I love how the game doesn't spoon feed you everything.

RedSwirl said:I've never really seen anyone ask this before, but where do the games take place in relation to the books anyway? Wouldn't the branching storylines mess with what's already there?

Darklord said:Oh awesome. I'm canceling my pre-order and buying it on gog then. And it definitely hasn't changed, right? I just change my location to America and I'm good to go?
abunai said:Yup!
Darklord said:Yay! I can play the game before I go away for a week then. Only $41 too!
