Can you run away from encounters in the world, or are you locked in?

Do you have a link? Because that's a pretty absurd idea.
I do not, sorry friend. Maybe Tovarisc does?
Yeah, it looks pretty much the same, but shorter animations, less bullshit and more responsiveness alone go a long way in making the combat more fun, I'm sure.
Different XP rewards on different difficulty settings and no XP from killing foes is kind of lame too, I feel like it makes choosing what difficulty to start on a bit harder. I dunno, I guess I'll just go with the "normal" one. If combat turns out to be actually fun, I'll crank it up, if it's as unfun as it was in TW2, I'll turn it down. Thank god for difficulty settings you can change on fly.
As far we know you don't any XP for just farming monsters on any difficulty setting. If this has been changed give me some sources :b
Can you import your Witcher 2 savegame file into the game? Is that feature available on PC?
No XP for killing foes is actually a really good idea and I´ll explain why.
In an open world game it is pretty hard to balance the game, because of that most of them use lvl scaling, like Skyrim.
Witcher 3 doesn´t use that, so if you could get an unlimited amount of XP from respawning foes, you could get a much to high lvl to fast and the game gets much to easy.
But with removing XP from defeated foes there is a set amount of XP you can get, so the game can be balanced around that.
I agree, that it is not such a good idea to include the amount of XP you get into the difficulty settings, a far better solution would be to seperate it.
At the moment it is impossible to play the game with a moderate difficulty, while also be able to explore a lot without to out lvl everything to fast.
It is also impossible to have a real challenge while only playing the main story.
Anyone know what happens in that interrogation scene if you have imported your file? Do you just get a summary, without the options to make choices? I can't remember every choice I made, haha.

after you finish the main story you can still go back and do the side quests right? never played ther witcher games
I was expected to get an Xbox One version and ya. Nothing, No response and no reason.
Put simply: we have not started sending review code widely yet. At this point, only those people with debug/development PlayStation 4 consoles (which are not available to the general public) are able to receive and play the game at this early stage. That's a total of about 25 people in all of North America. If you have not received code yet, that means everything is functioning as expected! (and if you're not in North America, sorry that you're receiving this email... you still need to talk to your local publisher PR rep)
We are anticipating final review code to go out fairly close to launch, for all platforms. I realize it's not an ideal situation for such an extensive and anticipated game, but this is the situation we're in.
Apologies if this has been asked/posted already, but is there an article or something that would give me an overview of the Witcher universe and lore?
I would be a complete newcomer going into W3, thanks!

Gonna be the longest weekend ever!
Depends what midnight you mean. Game unlocks 1AM CEST, 19th and it makes that early evening in NA, 18th.Will Witcher 3 unlock at midnight for the Xbox One version?
You can.
In a video I watched there was a pop up telling him to hold X to run if the battle was too hard.
The player was getting destroyed by guards for stealing.

I'm more interested in possible Witcher 3 character builds.
I know you can only equip 12 skills but how many skillpoints can you earn in the game and how many hybrid builds can you make.
I was hoping to spend 6 of my skill blocks in signs, 3 in attack, and 3 in alchemy.
Yep US for me. On the xbox store its says its not playable until 12:01 UTC.
Also nice to see more Finns on Neogaf

We don't know what is max of skillpoints you can gain. Apparently devs have kept adjusting that and haven't been comfortable with telling us how many that is. We know for sure that we get 1 point / level up all the way to level 50.
Edit:
For you it should be either 5PM or 8PM on 18th depending on your coast, if I remember right.
Torilla tavataan
Someone on another forum said even if the game gets delivered early you won't be able to play it because pre-order versions require a day one patch released on Tuesday to play it. This is bullshit right?
So how 'bout that hockey yesterday
i am sorry
If so lolDid metacritic drop Polygon? Their review wasn't counted
Glad I bought both books. So goodPictures from the book The World of the Witcher'; http://imgur.com/a/QG66Y

Oh nice stealing is in. It made me very uncomfortable in the Witcher 2 how you could just walk in anywhere and take things right in front of people.

Although I hate the question / answer way they've done it.
He was talking about PC copy, that can't be played before 19th because it requires activation download. Console version works right out of the box.
I have never played any of the previous Witchers.
How's the combat? Is it similar to Dragon's Dogma and the Souls/Bloodborne Series? Or is it closer to Skyrim?

Do we know how much lore there is to be found in the world outside of quests
