The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt |OT2| Wanted to find Ciri, but everything Gwent wrong

Am I a wimp if I turn the difficulty down from Blood and Broken bones to Story and Sword? I want to keep at it but I'm getting my ass kicked. I've never played a witcher game so my combat skills are pretty bad.

Thanks guys.

Forgot about the crossbow! 20 hours in and I've only used it in the tutorial area... Time to dust it off.

I still don't have one since the training area but I'm only level 2.

Should I just fail Gangs of Novigrad since Get Junior seems more interesting?

I'd rather sneak in and check everything rather than kill everyone, as that's what I'm guessing seems to be the difference between the two quests

I was thinking of doing the same thing. I'm not digging the combat at all.

And yes, I've played the Souls games and Bloodborne. The combat systems in those games were tight as a drum.

The game has an inverted difficulty curve, like a lot of open world RPGs. The beginning, when you're unfamiliar with movement and your spells/abilities are at their least functional is the toughest moment.
Exactly right. I almost turned down the difficulty for my playthrough. Really glad I didn't. Learning the system and getting better was far more rewarding. I've heard also that it just gets too easy on the next level under Blood and Bones.

Baron quest (end) question
Want to confirm if that whole quest line is over. Baron said he's taking his wife to some healer in the blue mountains. I accidentally clicked a spoiler a while ago where someone mentioned he hanged himself? Is that just another possible outcome?

Another possible outcome, based on your past decisions.

I have about 20k in money and I accidentally pissed off high level guards. I got hit once and died. They took like 10k off me...

What the FUCK!

Yeah, that is another outcome

I'm 35 hours into the game and I'm just finishing the Baron's questline. Gwent, finding cards for Gwent, secondary quests, and question marks on the map are the reason.

I have a problem.

So is that outcome caused by
Geralt chastising him and convincing him he's a bad person?

It's based on your decision with the spirit in the tree. Clearly you chose to kill it. If you choose to set it free, there's an entirely different outcome.

No,
the baron hangs himself when you chose to free the tree spirit, because Anna cannot be rescued anymore, because the Crones cursed her, and she will die that way anyway, the other outcome is killing the tree spirit and Anna will live.

Awww I got such a sweet ending :,)

Ending Spoilers!
Ciri became a witcher, Geralt settled down with Triss, Cerys brought peace to Skillege

Amazing game. Now to play through again but this time I'm going to be a dick.

That would explain why I don't have money anymore, lol. This stupid witch hunter that's level 30+ keeps attacking me in novigrad.

So, for the EXP bug...if I just roam around and play / collect Gwent stuff, I should be okay huh? There's no EXP related to Gwent, correct?

Silly question I know, but just wanting to confirm for peace of mind.

If I complete the story mode while still having side quests available, will I be able to complete them still or will the game be finished and I can't continue it?

Stayed up late to go ahead and beat it. I am guessing I got the good ending with
Ciri stopping the White Frost and me telling The Emperor she was dead. Only for me to meet her at an inn, present a sword as a gift and then she stays on with me as a Witcher.
Hell of a ride and the conclusion is about as satisfying as I could ask for. Now on to doing more Witcher's work in the post game.

Ending epilogue spoiler:
Ciri became a witcher, and Geralt and Yennefer ended up together enjoying a calm life far away from Politics. Cerys brought peace to the Skellige Isles, but Novigrad and all below were still in Radovid's mad king's hands. Should have killed him when the quest opportunity presented itself.

I really thought Ciri had died. :( I was pissed that my last words were that I was forbidding her to make her own choice.

Does anyone know what the song is called that plays in the farcorners of novigrad? It's a slower song with some vocals.

So is it safe to say that this is the most graphically advanced game out now on any system?
How are we defining "graphically advanced" exactly? It looks great, and it's a gorgeous game, but I don't think it's necessarily the most advanced game on my PS4. There are games that certainly look better. TW3 seems impressive because of its open world nature.

i don't think i ever got exp for normal gwent play. some gwent quests award exp though.

I think that I saw that they take 50% of your cash, so that would check out.

Its insanely high if they really take 50%, but I was literally buying nothing so I was just hoarding money lol I guess most people wouldn't have that much so it wouldn't be such a large amount.

Just finished the game with around 115 hours played, did all sidequests i could find sidnt explore anywhere close to all of the question marks.

Wont say anything about the ending or spoiler tag, im more than satisfied with my ending and bravo to CD Projekt Red. Gonna take some time and come back on Death March.

I think there is a side quest that involves playing innkeepers and shopkeepers. I'm not sure if it even gives you XP though.

So I'm doing a treasure hunt. Haven't finished the game yet or anything. But it's called "The Things Men Do For Coin" and is only level 12.

Anyway. The problem is I actually looted the bodies before I had the quest... so now I can't finish it? Happen to anyone else?

I was actually hit more by
the residents of Downwarren slaughtered by the crones
more than anything else in the Bloody Baron questline.
I was passing through and thought the town would have recovered or at least a few of them got away but nope, something about empty villages man. Just like the house where the father had hanged himself outside and his wife and kid dead on the bed
. The baron
sorting out the miscarried kid would have done something but the blotchling looked hilarious.

i already had 2 bugs involving those quests. a chest reappeared after i revisited the loc a few levels later. now they're asking for a key. i have no key and there is no key nearby.

i hate them.

I thought there was a way to upgrade your starting gear. When the game came out everyone said there was a diagram at the end of the game that used your starting witcher gear so don't sell it.

Was I duped to carry all the equipment for 100hrs. Or have I missed it.

I remember a time when some level 5 deserters occupying an abandoned village would have been a huge challenge on blood and broken bones.

Now, enhanced grapeshot + said deserters = pause and laugh for 5 minutes. It just never gets old :) such satisfying total body disruption, haha.
